Oh my where do I begin. This was our 2nd visit in 2 yrs. 1st time here was great, but that was long ago. Today we were seated in a room to the left of buffet line. Asked for a table, and they gave us corner table which reaped of urine/sewage! I thought I was imagining it so I asked my 13 yr old nephew if anything odd was happening. He said something smells bad. GROSS. So we moved to a different table on other side of room. Food it self was hmmmm, not so flavorful. Sushi was bland, rice was not seasoned at all. Hot food from line was hit and miss. Fruits from cold line had funny metallic flavor to them — I couldn’t eat it, just bad. Price for our meal was bit too high for lunch. 2 yr old was charged for lunch! Yikes. We will not be back.

We enjoyed our dinner here. Food was just ok. Nothing was terrible but nothing was spectacular. The sushi was pretty good though. Food was hot, the atmosphere was very pretty, and it appeared to be clean. Staff were just ok, not sure our waitress ever said anything but she was attentitive to our needs which was nice. Will probably come back.

Oriental Forest is ok for Chinese Buffet food. I polled the guys I went with after a visit; 5/10, 6⁄10 and another 6⁄10. This restaurant is just ok on many fronts; let’s start with the food. Most of the food is hot, and I didn’t run into anything that wasn’t at temperature that it should be. I did try most of the standard Chinese; like won ton soup, almond chicken, beef & vegetables, honey chicken, egg roll, spring roll, hot and sour soup, and pudding. Of those the won ton soup was best and next comes beef & vegetables. The rest were dry and mediocre. I did try the sushi since the presentation looks so good. It’s not the best. Most of it was dry lumps! Stick to the Chinese food. The place is clean for such a large establishment. And the dishes were clean too. I probably won’t visit here again.

My friend had visited several times and seemed to like it, so I was anxious to go. Boy, was I disappointed. The booth I sat in had a ripped seat, and I did not feel the restaurant was as clean as it should have been. The hot and sour soup was flavorless, the shrimp rather slimy and still had eyes. Yuck! The ribs I had were all fat. I will say that the fried shrimp was good, as was one of the variety of dumplings I tried. There definitely is a lot to choose from, and perhaps I would have found some other good items, but, unfortunately, most things I tried, I was not a fan of. The strawberry ice cream was delicious, but I worried about the cleanliness of scooping it with a much-used scoop. The almond cookies were tasty. I usually will give places a second chance, but I will not be returning to this eatery.

I saw this review forum for the Forest buffet and thought I would give my insight on my recent experience. Me and my wife went tonight to one of our favorite places, but wow what a disappointment our food was cold the pop was vary flat. When I asked for our check I got a really funny look and the waitress went and got another lady that spoke English I tried to explain to her that the food was cold and she said no the food is fine, so I politely asked the lady if she would mind taking a temperature of the food for me, she did and I was shocked when not only the food was in the danger zone to food safetystandards but she also used a standard thermometer that wasnt sanitized, very inaccurate and dangerous coming from a serve safe food manager, ive been in the catering biz for over 10yrs. Your supposed to use a infrared thermometer to test buffet food for safety of the public health. Just want to warn people out there to know if your food is cold don’t eat it and demand your money back this can cause serious food illness, unacceptable to food safety standards, and establishments like these give us caterers and chefs a bad name in the industry.

$ 7.95 lunch buffet(from Mon-Fri) is okay at best. The staff is attentive to refilling the food in the buffet but the food is standard and nothing extraordinary. If you want a common Chinese buffet, go here, if you want better Chinese food — order takeout from another local place in town.

If I could rate below zero, I would! My boyfriend and I decided to dine at this place the other night. As soon as we approach the buffet, the first plate I picked up was wet and still had old food on it. The food did not look good or fresh. I finally found something that looked decent(fried rice). As we finished dining, I attempted to get out of the booth we were sitting in. I instantly flipped onto the floor with the seat falling on top of me. The seat of the booth was not attached causing me flip on the floor. I went up front to tell the manager, and she was very unconcerned. She takes the seat and puts it back into the booth and tells me, «Ma’am, you must be careful.» After my outburst, she tells me that the seats are not attached, because they pick them up to clean. This is bull, you are running an establishment with furniture that is not secure and safe. Poor management, lack of communication, nasty food, and poor service! NEVERAGAIN!

Saw 2 stars and thought, no way. How can you mess up a Chinese buffet. Well they did. The sushi was horrible, the hot and sour soup was tasteless. The butter shrimp was gross. The only thing that was ok was the pudding. Sorry, but I will never come back.

I love the fountain when you walk in, my family an I were seated immediately. It was clean throughout the restaurant, but when I got to the bathroom it reaked of urine! Gross. Besides that I would come again it was a nice selection for my wife & daughter.

Well used to go there a lot when they first opened and last time I went there was last year, but yesterday I decided to try them since they a are the closest buffet place from where I live but what a mistake it was very disappointed and will never go back. Quality of food is poor«0» and staff is horrible they don’t speak English so very hard to order drinks like water and Pepsi and restroom was very dirty and had a bad odder I had to wash my hands that’s all wouldn’t use it.

When you try a large portion of things on the buffet, and you don’t finish anything because it leaves you feeling sick, I would say 12.99 for adults and 8.99 for children is a bit much to charge, don’t you think?

We went there for lunch and we had a very good experience. The waiter was very attentive he asked us to fill up our drinks frequently and he took our dirty dishes off of the table, the service was great. The food was better than most of the Chinese buffet restaurants and I have been to. most restaurants do not put out food regularly you’ll have a couple dishes that are empty here and there were as at this place they had it filled up all the time and the food was warm to hot mostly hot. we will definitely be going back

If I could rate less than 1 star I would. Food was barely warm, meat was fatty. Won’t return.

The food was fair at best. The sushi nigiri was dry and the roll-slices were bland. The dim-sum seemed waterlogged — read tasteless — but they had a bunch, both savory ad sweet. the egg-drop soup was tasty enough and I did have seconds of the Chicken with broccolli — mainly because nothing else was palatable and i dont eat pork. The staff were vacant — they only took plates when i was gone, and i did not get refills on my water until I was ready to leave. I might have given a better rating if the price was lower — $ 12 seems a bit high for bland and dried out foods.

My wife and I moved in almost directly behind Oriental Forrest and were very excited as we love Chinese Buffets. Our first experience was lack luster at best. Walked in to a relatively empty resteraunt(Friday afternoon at about 6:00pm) and the first thing we noticed was a rediculous amount of debris on the floor. The staff were standing around the service station playing on their phones paying no heed to the mess. The hostess sat us down and took our drink orders. My wife and I then went up to get our food. None of it looked terribly appitizing as it appeared like it had been in the serving trays for quite some time. When we sat down to eat much to our amazement our food… all of it was ice cold. We finished and paid our bill. We decided to give it one more try a month later understanding everyone could have an off day. WRONG!!! Same EXACT scenario. This time we got our food, it was cold and without eating complained. I was met with a befudled look and an offer to «warm it up». I said I just wanted to leave and with a huff she threw her hands in the air and said«go and don’t come back». No worries… we won’t

I went there for lunch with a co-worker because she wanted to compare it to the one that she goes to in Waterford. I had been there a few times back in the 2000s but hadn’t been there since. There were people going in so we decided to give it a try(big mistake). The staff was friendly when we arrived and we were seated promptly. The place has seen it’s better days but most Chinese restaurants are this way. There was a TV to watch the news though. The food was hit or miss. Some dishes tasted okay but others just were bad. The worst thing about it was that the food was lukewarm to cold. My co-worker looked at some of the trays expecting to see some steam coming off of some of the tables but no such luck. There was a gentleman periodically going around stirring up the dishes but I don’t know why. The food was cold. The Hot and Sour soup was just warm and tasted bad. The Wonton soup was warm but the little chips that you put in the soup were stale. The desserts were the run of the mill thawed desserts that all Chinese buffets use. My co-worker went to get some ice cream but decided against it once she saw all of the ice that had formed on top of it, freezer burn. We went in expecting to be stuffed but left hoping that our stomachs would forgive us. We will not be returning.

I’ve passed by this place several times the past year and I finally decided to give it a shot since i was in the mood for Chinese food. I’ve been to quite a few buffets in my day but this is one I will keep off my list. The food was old, the stuff that was replenished was mediocre at best. The dessert bar was basic enough for me to skip the whole thing. Pretty weak for a big Chinese buffet joint. Disappointed.

By far the worst food I’ve ever had in my life. This place is gross, and way over priced. Don’t waste your time. All the workers were nice. Best thing that could happen is if somehow the place burns down overnight. Health inspectors should make a suprise trip here. This is the only chinese buffet in the area, if they change the carpet, replace the tile in the serving area and provide better food they would have more customers… surprise.

Yuck! Greasy, grimy, dirty. When it comes to Chinese buffets I don’t care about the décor, if the seat cushions are torn, if the tables are worn, or if your server’s grumpy. All that matters is the food is fresh, there’s a good selection, the stations are well stocked, the surfaces are free of debris, and all the tongs and ladles are clean and not sticky and grimy. This place is deficient in pretty much every category except selection — which is ok. I don’t want to feel dirty after using the food tongs and I want the food fresh so its not all dried out or soggy. The bottom line: This place is dirty, tired, and not well stocked. Needs a major overhaul.
