Really wanted to like this place but the food was just awful. Greasy, overcooked, flavorless.

The staff was friendly but the food was not. They were out of Filet and they steak in its replacement was ok at best. Too much dressing on salad and wine was old.

Worst restaurant experience of my life! The only thing I can say is that I didn’t get food poisoning because I never got any service! Came with my wife tonight. We were immediately seated, got no menu, and waited and waited and waited finally after an abnormally long time a waitress showed and asked us for a drink order gave us menus and ran down some specials in a hurry so we didn’t know what was available. We never got water, no silverware, BECAUSESHENEVERCAMEBACK!!! BUTSHEWASABLETOTAKETHEFOODORDERSOFTWOOTHERTABLESTHATWERESEATEDAFTERUS!!! We talked to the folks next to us they said the service was terrible and the food not very good. I can’t comment because I never got a chance to eat anything. If you like being frustrated, this place is for you!!! I blame the management and ownership for this they must be rank amateurs!!! Ergo bad kitchen too. Never saw a supervisor for the 45 minutes we sat there! I feel dumb for having wasted a part of my life with these people. Stay far away from this place!

It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t all that fabulous either. My husband and I dined on the patio and were seated next to two ladies who smoked the entire time we were eating(which is completely illegal and disgusting). The drinks were good. We wanted an appetizer, but three out of the seven they offered on their menu they were out of which was disappointing. I ordered the Stuffed Avocado which was chicken salad in an avocado with a side of fruit and my husband ordered the Salmon Club. Our food was good but the service was SLOW. Would have been forgivable if the place was packed, but alas, it was only the two of us and the two chimneys sitting next to us.

Simply put, I’d come back for a drink but not food. Great décor but the food sucked. The cole slaw my mom had tasted like it had been sitting out for weeks. My salad was missing 3 ingredients the menu said it came with. It’s such a pretty restaurant, I hope they get a new chef soon :-/

I hate to trash the place, because I am a local and I want to see this place do well, but in my opinion, they missed the target demographic of the area. First off, the place looks amazing, I was there when it was Bistro Bordeau and I walked through the place during renovation. It is very nice inside, but again, they walled the place in half, missing what could have been a great, open restaurant. Looking at the menu, no appetizers? Seriously? It’s not like we order them everywhere we go, but it would have been nice to have. I did order the potato, bacon soup, which I was told was«amazing», and it honestly didn’t taste. I wasn’t expecting a trip to Flavortown(sorry for the bad Guy Fieri line), but at least have it taste like something. Moving to dinner, I had the sirloin with blue cheese and onions. The steak, in my opinion, was a bit tough for my liking, and again, it didn’t taste. I don’t know what it was, but it was one bland bite after another. I made a comment that zip sauce would have complimented it greatly. My wife had a chicken/pasta dish, which she said was very good. Will I come back? Absolutely for drinks, not sure for dinner.

Mr. Elwell has been a restauranteur for close to 50 years. He has now revamped what used to be his«Patrick’s» and transformed it into the new«Elwell Grill». I was lucky enough to attend their practice opening a few nights ago and what he has done to the place is a testament to years of love and commitment for the area and to the restaurant business as a whole. The décor is classy and dignified while still being very welcoming, laid back and casual. The walls are decorated with photographs of the Elwell’s friends and family through out the years. Many local celebrities have been know to frequent in the past and it is interesting to see their photos hanging on the walls. I think Elwell Grill is going to be a little bit more causal and modern in comparison to the old restaurant. The menu features a few of their classics, Steaks, Shrimp, Seafood, Chicken as well as a lot of delicious sounding sandwiches. The menu seems really reasonable and a good value for it’s price point. The bar area is really cool and seems like a good place to sit and enjoy some cocktails with a friend or two, or maybe order a light meal or sandwich. I’m looking forward to coming back soon.
