The Backyard Bar

I went to AC for Maroon 5. There were too many people on the beach. I couldn’t see a thing or hear any song. I should have grabbed a Sangria and stayed at Backyard for better enjoying the concert.

Do yourself a favor and don’t come here. The drinks were ok, but beer is beer. The food was horrible. We ordered nachos with pork and my 7 year old nieces could do better. Low quality chips, crappy cheese, and cold pork was what we were given for $ 17. The service was absolutely horrible from our waitress. She didn’t check on us or offer anymore drinks. I am sure she avoided us because she knew the food was crap.

There have been few times I left little to know tip waiters standing around looking pissed off. Food is poor and I don’t think they care. $ 20 dollars for chicken nuggets and a single beer bugs on the bar. The bill was $ 18.00 I left $ 20 and walked out the bar tender if you can call him that was just as clueless and worthless I don’t think the place will make it to next season. Put in a good chef great tap beer and helpful the location is great they ruined it

Worst food I ever ate! Had shrimp tacos. Pre cooked frozen shrimp and tasteless pico de gallo on a cold tortilla. My daughter had the buffalo chicken wrap and asked for blue cheese 3 times and never did get it. Told they did not have the shrimp wrap but then brought it to the table for our friend. She was wishing they didn’t bring it due to the same nasty shrimp. Over priced for bad food. I don’t mind spending money for food, but please make it good.

Stumbled upon this place after coming out of the Caesars Pier mall and looking for something to chill outside while catching a few rays. Beautiful out today. There is a pretty good crowd here and the people watching is also fun. This is like front row seats at a non stop show. The beer is also inexpensive and their is an ease way onto the beach literally 30 feet away. We also ordered the burgers and cheese Nachos. The food came out nice and hot and the meat was very tasty. I asked the waitress what they soak the meat in so I could use it at home. This is going to be my new favorite spot. We also noticed a really classically fun frame of a guy and bachelorette where people are sticking their heads into the cut outs. It is really fun and adds to the entertainment.

I ordered the burger. I should have known something was up when the waitress didn’t ask me how I wanted it cooked. I told her I wanted my burger medium and she said, «oh we don’t do that here, all the burgers are cooked the same way.» Huh? Okay.
If Dollar General sold frozen premade ground beef patties, The Backyard Bar sells them. I’ve never seen a well cooked burger so pink and mushy. It was served with American cheese on a bun. That’s it people. No lettuce, mayo or sauce. Just a sad patty with some sad cheese melted on it. I was so hungry so I ate three quarters of it and drowned the taste with the margartia that I had to ask for twice.
I can not with this place. If it weren’t for unsuspecting tourists, this place would not survive.

Expensive beach food and poor service sucks this place has a lot of potential with a great area on the ac Boardwalk… Step your game up guys!

AWFUL!
This place was terrible on all accounts. I was there with my husband before a concert recently, and kind of stumbled upon this place. Initially thinking it looked cool from the outside with the outdoor seating and music. The speaker was blasting in our ears the whole time. People smoking cigarettes and cigars all over as well, which I know we’re outside, but it’s still a restaurant and still gross. After sitting waiting for service for 10 minutes a server finally took our order and took about 7 minutes to get our beers which were not cold. Then we continued to wait and wait for our food. I ordered chicken tenders and my husband ordered a buffalo chicken wrap. Mine came first after waiting about 30 minutes. At this point we were getting antsy because the concert was close to starting. After another 5 minutes we tracked down our server and asked where the wrap was. She left and soon a guy brought it to the table. It was a few pieces of cold pre-​cooked chicken with some lettuce and buffalo sauce thrown on it. It looked absolutely DISGUSTING. The tenders weren’t good either, which is odd considering we all know they are frozen then fried — not much you can mess up there. We sent the wrap back and they took it off the check. We paid and left as soon as we could. All in all it was a terrible experience and we will NEVER go back there again. Overpriced for nasty food.

On our vacation to Atlantic City in August, we decided to have a casual dinner on a Monday night. We had previously walked past this restaurant and decided to give it a shot. The drinks were ok; they had a lot of cocktails to chose from.
The food was TERRIBLE!!! I would have had a better meal getting fast food. I couldn’t believe what they served us. My husband and I left feeling unsatisfied and that we wasted our money.

Terrible, worst place in AC. Limited menu, food is ordered from a take out joint across the boards. The waitress was the worst, inattentive, like she didn’t care. The corporation that owns the sight should be ashamed of their tenant. Beer was cold, the only thing that was OK.

I’ve passed by this place on the boardwalk many a time. I loved the idea behind the concept, paper plates, plastic wares, just like the backyard. Unfortunately this is like one of those barbecues at your in-law’s where you can’t get decent food. If all you want is a bucket of beer, this place is fine. Any of the food offerings are subpar and overpriced. This place would rock with a functional kitchen, but it’s just an alca-​hole.

I was walking on the boardwalk looking for something to eat and noticed this place. They had outside seating and a couple of empty tables so we went for it. Our waitress was very pleasant and took care of us right away which was great since we were hungry. I got the Caesar wrap with garlic fries. the wrap was good but what made the whole meal were those yummy garlic fries.
Drinks were okay, the Miami vice was good but the hurricane was horrible I couldn’t even finish it and that usually never happens.

Great for Boardwalk people watching with a really extensive beer collection. I loved the live DJ playing right on the outside deck which kept up the festive party mood that we were in. Their happy hour specials were pleasantly on par with my budget since I just sank a ton of money into the Caesars mall. The waitress was very cheerful and talkative and gave us the scoop on what was happening in the area. I would give her 5 stars for her tour guide ability alone. I was impressed by how fast the drinks and food were delivered. We literally ordered and in 2 minutes we had drinks and by 10 minutes all of the food. I ordered the chicken sandwich with swiss and carmalize onions and it was soo tender and juicy that I didnt want to stop chewing. It had a tang of a buttery flavor which I enjoyed. I decided to write this review after I finished the sandwich but wish I would have taken a picture of how thick and juicy it was.

If I could give this 0 stars I would. I had the chicken ceasar wrap today and it was literally the worst thing I have ever put in my mouth, ever. I don’t even understand how you can mes that up. The chicken was OLD, rubbery, and literally unedible even after swimming it in hotsauce. The waitress was extremely sweet and understanding. Stay far far away.
My husband is super picky and had the fish tacos, and said the taste was really great but over cooked.
The drinks were really good, though. I had two sunsets.
I was wondering why waitresses were walking in with bags of food? One of the previous posters just made it click for me. Never again!

This place was terrible… my advice is just go somewhere else. The food is literally take out from empire burger that is right across the boardwalk…($ 5 up charge) Our waitress walked into the bar with a take out bag filled with our food!!! Really??? Now I could understand if we were forewarned or if the menu stated this but that was not the case. The nachos were «disgusting». The burgers came over cold… of course. And the mozzarella sticks, which were actually good, came with ice cold marinara sauce. I’ve never gotten cold marinara sauce and the group of 8 of us never have either. However, the manager defended the cold marinara by stating that he was a chef for 8 years and that’s the only way he ever served it! So I guess as the customer I was wrong again. Wrong to ever give this place our money.

So bad. They need to get their act together. The place sucks. Go have fun somewhere else.

My husband and I stopped in here while strolling the AC boardwalk. The place looks very inviting but is very lacking. They invite you to seat yourself which results in servers not realizing no one has helped you. The service was very slow. We ordered two beers, a mixed drink and apps. The nachos claim to have fresh fried chips but I find that hard to believe. They were very lacking. They were cold and the cheese was not melted at all by the time they reached the table. The buffalo wings were not crisp at all. They did not arrive with the usual accompaniments (celery). One beer ordered was a Corona but we received a Cornona light with no lime, not a huge deal but it was very clear they were not paying attention. When the check arrived we had to tell our waitress that our beers were not on our check!
I would not recommend this place for food. Maybe if you just wanted to get drunk and people watch on the Boardwalk.

Umm… Yeah, NO. Don’t go… Seriously not worth it. The only thing at this place is over priced drinks and greasy apps. The wait staff is slow and don’t understand the meaning of customer service. I understand that the boardwalk can be pricey but, not for this service. I guess part of it is that I would rather be sitting at the beach with my own drinks that crammed in a tiny area with uncomfortable seating.

The Backyard Bar is a chill little place on the boardwalk. Nothing fancy or crazy. Good place to grab a bite and a beer and in my case watch the soccer game. They have outdoor seating which is nice. I wish they had a TV outside also. I also like their selections of beers being that I’m always trying to taste new beers. It’s a good place to take a break from the beach. Check it out!

A gloriously bright sunny day on the «boards» brought my fellow day tripper and me to this corner oasis. We decided to enjoy a libation outside bathed in the sun and breeze.
We saw no receptionist outside then asked the bartender inside if we could seat ourselves. He consented. We found one unoccupied table for two. We waited for approximately 10 minutes until my friend attracted the attention of a server. The server seemed surprised but, noticed we did not have menus and obtained two from a nearby table.
We ordered a beer and a blended drink. We waited several minutes until only the beer was delivered. The server apologized for the delay. Approximately, one minute later, the blended drink was delivered.
Men’s room? As bright and sunny on the outside was the opposite inside. A series of upstairs steps and poor visibility made this pit stop unnecessarily difficult. Negotiating the darkness and downward steps was WORSE!
If you have an abundance of time, patience, and enjoy the opportunity of outdoor ambiance, this is your place. If not, I strongly, recommend a different establishment.
