When I first walked into this establishment, I had just left another store that left me cold. I won’t write a review on it because it wasnt bad enough to really complain about. My point is, I was a little irritated by the time I walked into Shore Things. My irritation left as soon as I walked through the doors. What a breath of fresh sea air. It smells clean and crisp and the colors are instantly soothing. There are so many adorable gifts and cards here. And even though there are plenty of items that are great gifts, you will find yourself wanting to purchase them for yourself. There are beach décor items, not tacky touristy stuff, these are classy and elegant. Also some baby items, fun gift cards, and serving items like Beach Glass Serving Utensil sets, and trays, and well just all kinds of things. When I told the lady behind the counter, Carol, that I was new to the area, she very sweetly gave me a little map and lots of very helpful information on how to get around, and a few tasty places to eat. What a nice change from how you get treated in some stores, where you wonder whether or not they actually want your money! Go here if you want a unique gift from a store that is all about service. ps, for the cost, I put $ because the price is a range from inexpensive to expensive based on what you find.

I think this store is just adorable! It is kind of a cross between an Oceanside art gallery, craft and housewares store. There are some crafty items and art work from local Jacksonville artisans here and the theme for the entire store is ocean related items. Fish pictures, brightly colored, beach themed dinnerware and home décor items, and some adorable children’s wear(nautical theme of course) fill this little shop. Even if you’re not necessarily in the beach-décor-shopping mode, it is kind of nice to peek at some of the unusual items here.
