Vino Libro puts a smile on my face! I meet a lot of cool people at this spot. If you want to chill and meet mature professional people than this is a place to go. My first time at Vino Libro was for the MixHer that used to take place on Sunday. I’m not sure if they still have this event but it was nice while it lasted. The place is small and can get packed very easily. For its namesake, you would assume that Vino Libro carries a full wine selection; there is not a wide variety. I ordered a bottle of 7 Sisters Pinot Blanc which was very tasted but overpriced($ 40=Vino Libro; $ 15= retail). The wine was good :/The only food that I tasted at Vino Libro was a portion of salmon cake that was feed to me by a lovely lady at the bar. It was good ;) Vino Libro is a nice place to go if you have never been there before but do not expect a wide selection of wine.

My friend and I visited Vino Libro yesterday evening for Chocolate Sundays hosted by Hank Stewart. Vino Libro was easy to find, and parking was available within the residential area(which is gorgeous, by the way!) I had been warned about the tapas, so I didn’t order anything to eat. I had a glass of Riesling($ 9) and listened to spoken word. Everyone was friendly, including the waitstaff. The only drawback I have with the place is the fact that it was ridiculously packed and there wasn’t enough seating for everyone. All in all, it’s a great place to wind down the weekend.

Great spot to hang out! Very good wine selection, and live music on the weekend. We went at the end of a happy hour that lasted through two other locations. They used to have couches out side but have since taken them away, for more tables. The benefit is that more people can come in and hear great music and of course drink wine! Duh! I have not had their food, but found the menu to be fair, without some of the usual bar food. The location is very nice and with Vickery’s next door how can you go wrong!!! Go and enjoy an extensive wine selection, good music in a nice space!

For a wine bar this places has the smallest wine list. I am talking 20 wines maybe. but that’s pushing it. Prices were a little high, but then again they are in Glenwood Park. I got the hippyish organic cab at $ 7 for the smallish glass. The hummus platter I tasted was good, but I could have bought the same dips at Trader Joe’s and enjoyed them just as much. The bartenders were nice and the interior is peaceful in a jazzy, couch filled way. I say skip it and head over to the shed which has more wines to choose from and better vittles.

I’ve actually been to Vino Libro before on a Wednesday night a while back for Wine Tasting… it was a pretty educational experience. But this review is based off their Friday night events. I went this past weekend and first off was taken aback by the number of people packed out in this spot. If you haven’t visited this area, you’ll soon find that parking is a pain. VL is tucked away in the middle of these gorgeous townhomes off Glenwood(yes, there are some nice homes off Glenwood). There’s no cover on a Friday and it looks like this is the new(or at least to me) spot for the«I want to be low key but I still want to be in the see and be seen crowd»…so a lot of lovely ladies, including moi and well dressed fellas. There was a live band, I believe Gritz & Jelly Butter that I really enjoyed. If we would have showed up earlier, we might’ve had a seat. Yes, this place was standing room only, which meant I was bumped quite a few times, but I kept my cool ;-). I will definitely check out this spot again, but earlier(we arrived around 11) to secure a seat and more time to vibe with the band. Oh and did I mention they were playing Avatar on the flatscreens… isn’t that still in theaters? Hmmmmm

I took a date here a long while back and it was a very nice experience. We went on a monday night that they advertised as a wine tasting night. All you want for 20 dollars a person. I don’t know if they still do this but it was a great way to try out wines you might not have been willing to go buy. The wine bar guy, whatever he is called, was great at listening to what our taste were and recommending something we might like. The food was good but a little pricey, I thought. The décor was elegant and modern but honestly, I thought the furniture didn’t make eating very easy. Kinda like sitting on my sofa and eating on my coffee table. Great place to take a date. Try the wine, enjoy the music, but go eat somewhere else

I’ve been meaning to try this place out for awhile now. After leaving the Hawks game Friday, I decided to check it out. I highly doubt you’ll find parking, it’s very limited. However, for a resonable price,($ 5), you can Valet Park. Since I didn’t eat or try the wine,(I went with a beer, forgive me), I can’t provide you with any input about that. I can tell you though that the inside was very inviting. It was packed because they had a band playing. To my knowledge, they have a live band Friday and Saturday. They band was great! I believe the name of them was Gritz and Jelly Butter. They played songs from Kanye West, Biggie, Robin Thicke, Stevie Wonder, The Roots, and more. I digress. Anyhow, there’s a nice little lounge area. It’s a cool setting that gives you the option to be sociable and snuggle up in a corner and chill out. During the summer, I think you can eat outside. I saw some chairs and tables posted outside. I’ll have to go back again and try out the food To be continued…

I was introduced via my sister for her birthday in November of 2008 and have been going every since. It is a great atmosphere to relax if needed or party when you want. With live music on Friday and Saturday you can go from a relaxing wine experience to dance party with music ranging from R&B to Salsa. During the week you can hold a business meeting over drinks, have a glass of wine with the owner, chat with the neighborhood regulars, or attend a Wine Tasting on Wednesdays. Vino Libro also offers a wide range of wines for sale on their retail side. If you do not know what you are looking for, Vino has knowledgeable staff to help you make the perfect selection for a night at home or a party with friends. If you are looking to hold an event, Vino offers a wide variety of options. I have attended book signings, private wine tastings, baby showers, bridal showers and birthday parties that have all exceeded my expectations with service and offerings. Over the time that I have frequented Vino I have met many people and see the following for Vino grow with every visit. I highly recommend Vino Libro to anyone looking for a place to chill or party, Vino caters to everyone’s taste.

Dwight Eubanks(The Real Housewives of ATL) held the viewing of the finale episode here, about a month ago. Although I’m not a wine lover, I did have a nice mango sangria(and there were several flavors to choose from). The bartender… well, she just made you feel like you’d known her forever. While walking into the place, I met a guy, who I would then be buddied up with the whole evening. He ordered the lamb chops and they were very tiny, not enough to even satisfy you, if you were starving. He said they were very tasty, at least, and I could see how tender they were. The place is cozy and I can see this as a good place to go on a date. If I happen to go to this place again, I may try the wings… they looked good from afar and the people that were eating them told me they were(I had to ask).

I have been to Vino Libro a few times and I was just there this past weekend, so here is a short review. Weekends are quite busy and this is a spot in Atlanta to be and to be seen. Great crowd. This venue has a great wine selection, coupled with a wonderful atmosphere and décor, hot music and attentive service. The food is also quite tasty. We had a party of five and were fortunate that we had no difficulty finding seats around 9:00PM on a Friday. We celebrated a friend’s birthday and I was impressed that the owner, personally made sure that we were well taken care of. Great Music — The band was great and when the band was not performing, there was music perfect for the vibe and mood.(Hot, sexy funky vibed with a urban/NY sort of flow) Eventhough it was very busy on Friday, we did not have to wait for a long time for our orders to be served. I ordered a tossed salad with a fresh garlic vinigarette. The salad was not only fresh, but the dressing was yummy and hit the spot. Others in my party ordered the quesadillas, pizza and hummus. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the drinks. The menu has a variety with interesting twists and the prices are reasonable and comparable to other similar establishments.(I not sure why a previous reviewer felt that the food was overpriced. I dine out quite a bit and the pricing is on par with what I have experienced elsewhere.) Because it is busy on the weekend evenings, you may have to wait for a seat. Get there early. So just grab a glass of wine or a cocktail from the bar and enjoy the people and atmosphere while you wait. There is patio seating available. Need help selecting a wine? The staff and owner are quite knowledgeable and are happy to assist. I have not attended a wine tasting at Vino Libro yet, but I will. Parking is limited in the Glenwood Park area, so you may have to drive around for a spot. Will definately return and I also recommend!

I’ve been to this establishment twice(both for birthday parties). The live band, décor, staff, drinks and food are exceptional. I highly recommend this place to anybody who likes tapas bars.

I usually go on wed night for there $ 10 dollar wine tasting which is always a nice selection mostly wine from other country and the people are really informative. The crowed is pretty much diverse I love all the different people that I have encountered so if your looking for a nice night out and your learning to be a wine connoisseur I think this should be your first stop…

I went here on a Friday night, yesterday as a matter of fact. The band was off the hook but I am partial to the band because I know many of the members. The atmosphere was great. I had heard tfrom non Unilocaler friends that this place was bougeios. But the patrons were very amicable and I witnessed a lot of interaction between different groups of people. In addition, the ratio of men to women was pretty even which is great for an Atlanta crowd. I did see left over foods on several of the plates but I can’t give a direct review of the food because I did not have any food. I had a rose for nine dollars. It was delicious but it was seven sisters brand which is sold in bottles in the stores for about the same price as what I paid for only a glass. I don’t, however, know how much the bottle is. Many wine places overcharge for the glass but not the bottle. I will definitely go back again and check it out. Oh, my last bit of advice is to get there early if you want a seat and dress light because it gets hot in there!

Vino Libro is by far my favorite place for wine in the city. It has a really great, laid back atmosphere, attracts an interesting crowd, and the staff is great with helping customers select wine(without being snobby in any way). Mondays and Tuesdays are my favorite nights to go — for $ 15 you all the wine you can drink from bottles that are already open, which offers the chance to really explore lots of different wines(or get drunk if that’s your M.O.). The place trends towards empty during the week, which I personally prefer, but the place is packed on the weekends. Although the food is tasty, it’s overpriced. The food is really simple and straightforward, and I like that about the food, but that also makes it harder to justify the prices. It drives me crazy that for something like $ 7 – 8 you can order a quesadilla, but only actually get half of the quesadilla. What do they do with the other two slices? It’s a shame that Vino Libro is such a wonderful place to linger, but I can’t stay through mealtime because I feel gypped when I eat there. That said, it’s exactly the sort of place I’d love to go after a dinner date I don’t want to end just yet.

Checked out Vino Libro the other night, as I was really jonesing for a better wine experience. I found VL to be fantastic on a few levels. Aesthetically pleasing with a very knowledgeable, conversational staff. During the week is much more subdued, although I’m sure the weekend traffic has to be brisk. I wasn’t complaining about the sparsity, mind you, usually that’s how you get the really good«inside» info. Very much looking forward to expanding my wine horizons with Vino Libro sometime very soon.

Vino Libro is one of my favorite places to go and relax and try new wines. Although not a wine connoisseur just yet, they always give great recommendations and the food is fantastic. I haven’t tried the Monday nights, but I’ll be sure to check it out soon. Vino Libro is one of those places where you feel sophisticated and in the know without the pretentiousness. You never feel out of place, just grateful for the experience.

Dont ask me about the food. The motivation behind hitting this spot was simply«Bottomless Wine». So every Monday @ Vino Libro, they have bottomless wine to get rid of their leftover wine supply from the weekend. Pretty ingenious idea, whoever came up with it, I owe you a hug. The atmosphere is cozy/trendy, couches are placed strategically throughout the venue, slightly interrupted by tables and an intimate bar area. Our bartender’s name was Stef? I think, cute black girl, who is extremely friendly, and simply does a good job. The music was hot, mix a little maxwell, with some Kem, you know, neo soul classics, it makes the spot, and whoever picked it(ahem), look very good. I’ll definitely be back.

Can’t speak to the wine bar side as I have only attended for special occasions(friend’s party etc…), however the retail(wine store) side of the business is quite good. Always a medium sized selection of boutique wines from around the world. As the owners believe good wine should be accessible to everyone, they never carry a bottle that exceeds $ 40. Sparkling and dessert wines are available as well. For those who need help picking a wine, there is always someone very friendly in the retail side available to guide you. Did I mention they have weekly wine tastings? Yep, and my last recollection is that the tasting only costs $ 15-$ 20(generally includes accompanying snacks/cheeses.). Jan 14, 2008EDIT This week’s wine(and cheese) tasting costs only $ 10 — wow! Not sure if that is the standard weekly price — again, wow!

Just had a really good Sat. night out at this new funky & relaxing wine bar in East Atlanta. It’s located in the new Glenwood Park mixed-use space. The atmosphere is just textbook ‘cool’ with modern furniture, funky art, low lights and crisp décor. You’d almost say it was too full of itself, but it stops just short of that and is instead relaxing and really inviting. The place is basically split into 2 spaces: a more formal dining area and a more casual drinks/desserts area, done up with sofas, low tables and a great fireplace. As for food & drink, there are some nice options. It’s all small plates, so kinda tapas-style dining. Portions are big enough though that 2 plates just about fill you up. If not, grab a $ 5 dessert. The food was surpsingly tasty for a place that seems more interested in its wines. No complaints and creative presentation. The wine menu is very good for sharing bottles, not so good for glasses. You can get a glass of anything on the menu, but the price is high enough to discourage that and instead get a more reasonably priced bottle. For instance, a bottle may be only $ 28, but a glass is likely $ 10 – 12. Also, service seemed a bit of an afterthought. Attentive enough, but it could use some work. Nonetheless, our server was very helpful w/menu descriptions and had a real good attitude. The unique, funky spot is definitely worth a repeat visit and a great addition wo the East Atlanta/Glenwood Park area.
