Super bummed I took an über here before I fly home to find out there closed between 3 – 5! It’s ok, I’ll spend my money elsewhere.

It warms my soul when I talk about this amazing eclectic spot here. Please try the meatloaf! I’d never thought it was made with turkey. I love that the staff is friendly, courteous and professional Lastly… ALL the food I’ve tried has been spot on and THATALONE will keep me going back! KUDOS

Really happy this place moved to my neighborhood! I’ve been here twice for brunch and really enjoyed it both times. The omelette with turkey was very flavorful. Nice ambiance as well– low key and relaxing. It’s a great addition to the area, definitely check them out!

Interesting tasty dishes, great prices, and a convenient location in Midtown right off Ponce. I’ve tried the turkey omelette and tofu scramble for brunch– both were delicious. Last night I stopped in to try the tilapia, coconut rice, and plantain dish– which was creative(and filling). I also tried the Jambalaya which was tasty and only $ 11. Will definitely be back soon.

Love this place for brunch, dinner or simply stopping in for a beer and football at the market bar. Very happy to have it in the neighborhood(they serve the full menu in there too). Has a lovely outdoor patio as well– quite a nice place to sit and admire the neighbor’s christmas lights. Have also been there for a work lunch midweek and was not disappointed.

I’m so excited to live near to Urban Cannibals in Midtown — the perfect neighborhood joint! I discovered it only a month ago and have been coming every week since! The food is incredible and affordable and the entire staff are very friendly and helpful. I ordered takeout one night and they offered to put it on a plate for me to bring back another night, since I was a neighbor :-) It felt like taking home goodies from grandma’s house. The eggplant stack with arugula pesto penne is to die for!

Delicious! They’re new to this location, so they’re ironing out the kinks, but the food more than makes up for any of that. Tried the meatloaf and mashed potatoes tonight and sampled the jambalaya tonight. All of it was fantastic! I’ve been here a few times since they opened up over here in West Midtown and I’ve found it’s best to build in some time to wait for food prep. The wait is so worth it though!

Disappointed, extremely. Last night, we walked the three blocks excited to see what the EAV haunt had stocked the grocery with since moving to their new midtown location. Their grocery was sparsely stocked, so we went right to the dining room for dinner, no big deal as we overheard a waitress saying they’ve only had a soft opening. Because they only had a smattering of liquors listed on the menu with no signature cocktail list I ordered a Moscow Mule, thinking it would be an easy one since its the drink of the minute in Atl, and my boyfriend a dark and stormy. The«mule» was basically a shot of vodka wasted down by a whole can of ginger beer with a lime thrown into it. Not a good start. Two seconds later our food arrives. My boyfriend’s chicken dish tasted like the pre-breaded frozen kind and I had to cut my «grilled» cod with a knife. The cod was so overcooked it could have been used for a bouncy ball. To add insult to injury they also served wilted spring mix in my salad. We will not be back, as there is no redemption for this large of a failure.

Worst dinner experience we have had in Atlanta almost ever… so disappointed because this is in our neighborhood and we’re excited to have something good and new to walk to… Cute space but the food was almost not edible… We ordered the chips and dip and just like the other review stated we were served Broken Ruffle chips from the bottom of the bag. The pimento cheese was served with white half toasted Wonder Bread and our meat loaf was covered with a disgusting gravy just was slopped on a plate. Combine all of this with an uneducated server that couldn’t figure out how to get our drinks on time even though there was only 4 people in the space and a strange Mexican Music soundtrack blaring over the speakers that seems to be left over from the amazing Cuban restaurant that once inhabited the space made this place one of the worst dining experiences ever. It’s truly sad… great spot… But it’s like we went to the high school cafeteria for dinner. Disgusting.

The food is spectacular! We had a table of 12 so we ordered a variety of food and everything looked amazing.

To survive in a location like this– tucked away on a residential street– a restaurant needs a combination of good advertising, a memorable dining experience, and great food. They really struck out on all of these things. The interior restaurant space had grey walls without wall art. The table decorations included candles and flatware. The tables in our room, we surmised, must have been repurposed science room tables from a school. There was a patio with no real ambiance beyond utilitarian tables. That I can recall, there wasn’t even a sign on the building. They didn’t even have the name of the restaurant on the menu. Why so secretive? That question was answered shortly thereafter by the food. The presentation of the menu wasn’t creative and didn’t make anything sound overly appetizing. My friends ordered chips and dip for an appetizer. I kid you not, the chips were a handful of Ruffles(from near the bottom of the bag based on their crushed consistency). I didn’t eat any of the dip, but they said it wasn’t anything better than what you could buy from the deli at a grocery store. At one point, my friend flat out asked a server for more Ruffles since there was a huge container of dip and hardly any chips. She brought a small saucer with a handful of demolished Ruffles– these must have been the last remainders from the bottom of the bag– and dumped them onto the plate. For a drink, I ordered a gin and tonic. For some reason, they added lots of bitters. It was okay but not what I asked. For dinner I ordered turkey meatloaf. It was just mediocre. The meatloaf had nice flavor and consistency. The mashed potatoes were just okay. I guess their signature item that was supposed to make this a special dish was the gravy. The gravy wasn’t anything to write home about. I also had a small arugula«salad» on the side. They didn’t put any dressing on it at all, so it was literally just dry arugula leaves. The saving grace of this meal was that our server forgot to charge me for my drink. I’m an honest person, but I certainly didn’t feel inclined to let him know about the oversight after the food/dining experience. I think this place is doomed.

We really enjoyed the food and atmosphere here. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the food was top notch. The beer selection was not bad either. I will definitely be coming back here again.

My wife and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary this evening and we wanted to check out the new location of Urban Cannibals. We have missed this restaurant over the summer as they have worked toward opening three new restaurant this fall. They just recently opened this location in the last two weeks. The new restaurant looks great! There’s lots of indoor seating and they have a patio now! There’s a bar on the other end of the building, which is something new! My wife was able to get wine with her dinner! We started off with the Pimiento Cheese appetizer. For dinner my wife had the Spinach Pie and I had the Jambalaya with Herbed Cheese Grits. Everything was wonderful. We even had Carrot Cake for dessert. We really enjoyed our time here and we’re glad they’re back! It was great to see you again, Chef Calavino!

UC is in a soft opening mode but we couldn’t wait to go as we were big fans of the sandwich shop and the very talented chef Calavino. They did not disappoint. My cod was delicious and perfectly cooked on a bed of fresh spinach(loved the raw spinach) and some yummy mac&cheese with dill. Husband loved his turkey meatloaf on garlic potatoes, his new favorite meatloaf. We thought the prices were great for the food and portions. Must return during lunch for my favorite sandwiches. Nice clean modern renovation to this space, formerly Las Palmeras… great patio. Mazel tov!
