Unleashed by Petco

I love the store however; the trainer Becky truly offended me. When calling the store I was quite distraught and was referred to Becky she has 30 years experience. That was what I want because my puppy is quite hyper and I have never had to solely house train a pet, so I thought perfect. The initial session went okay, last Saturday morning 4÷18÷15 around 10 AM. My only complaint was Becky kept complaining about a woman and her 5 children bringing their one dog for a bath. I was confused about the complaining, because she told me that I should use my dogs bath time as a bonding time. So if its bonding time for me and my dog, why not this family as well. I also felt it was horribly tacky that Becky would complain to one customer about another.
So yesterday 4÷26÷15 10am was my first training session with Becky. I walk up to the store, her and an employee from the store next door having some words, tacky in front of the store. So we go in and Becky has a dog she is dog sitting with her, Becky advised me the owner would be picking up the dog who was very rambunctious, large, a little scary, and a distraction to my family. Becky was distracted by this dog, she would give orders and change them a moment later. With the change it was like she was frustrated with us but, we were doing what she had originally told us to do. My daughter and I were so confused, one moment she told my daughter to sit and watch because she was not at the original consultation. Becky had to stop our training session to take the other dog out to use the restroom. When we returned to training Becky chewed my daughter out for sitting and watching, as Becky had told her to do prior to potty break. At one point, Becky told me to let go of my dogs leash while she was providing instruction, then other dog was being antsy she decided to make a «barrier», when she came back to the session Becky became upset because my dog was distracted by the other dog. She grabbed my puppies leash and snipped to me this is your pet get him. I immediately stopped the session and told her to give me a refund. I would have preferred to reschedule than to receive this type of treatment. It was not fair to us. I will just go to Petsmart and utilize their services hopefully; their trainers have manners and people skills.

Update!
So after being advised to contact corporate about my initial visit to this location, not only did I do so, but I also received an email back with an apology and a phone call from the store manager, Terri, who was very open to hearing my story and even looked up the footage from that visit — confirming what I said happened. She was very nice and complete opposite of what I experienced during my initial visit. She made me feel much better about everything and invited me back to the store for a second impression as she wanted to make things right.
I took Terri up on her offer and returned with my husband for what was a 100x better experience than the first. I even brought our dogs this time :-) So now to the review…
The associate at the front desk (Dennis I think…) was extremely nice. He did a lot of little things that were definitely noticed and kinda went above what I expected. I wasn’t rushed even when at the last minute I decided that I wanted to buy treats for my dogs which required me picking and weighing the bag every few seconds. Still, no complaints from Dennis. Terri showed us how to use the self wash area and even helped set us up. Again, above and beyond in my book, and we felt welcomed the entire time.
I’ve definitely fallen in love with this place now. I look forward to becoming a regular customer at this location and am glad that they invited us back.
