My coworker purchased a Groupon to Tartufo for $ 15 which is worth $ 30 worth of brick oven pizza and drinks for four as listed below Choose Between Two Options * $ 10 for $ 20 worth of brick-oven pizza and drinks for two * $ 15 for $ 30 worth of brick-oven pizza and drinks for four * $ 20 for $ 40 worth of brick-oven pizza and drinks for six Once we got there, it turns out that you physically need to have 4 people there. It doesn’t apply to just 3 people and 2 isn’t the option it was purchased for. I felt like they needed to clarify to people that this Groupon is useless if they don’t have the right amount of people with them. Anyways, we didn’t have 4 and she was copping an attitude about it but after awhile, she decided she was going to honor it this time. Really, wouldn’t you rather have 3 additional customers than NONE? Just saying… We ordered the Caprese Salad(Cherry Tomatoes, Mozzarella and Basil drizzled in this deliciously rich balsamic reduction and EVOO) I mean this dish was simple yet so good because of the fresh ingredients. Mind you, the menu has no sizes for the pizza except for the lunch special, but it’s 14″. We decided to go with the signature«Tartufo» pizza with caramelized onion, shittake mushrooms, mozzarella, and arugula drizzled with truffle oil and EVOO. Ok, this was about as orgasmic as it can get with all the flavors dirty dancing in my mouth. It’s definitely a winner in my book… And after much discussion, we figured 14″ isn’t going to big enough, because the 14″ are made for 2 people. So we order the Genova(shrimp, roasted sweet peppers, pine nuts, pesto, and reggiano cheese). This one smells much more divine than it tastes. The shrimps were scanty and I didn’t taste any pine nuts. I wouldn’t order this particular one again. Also, if you«liked» them on facebook or check in on Unilocal, you get 1 scoop Gelato for free. She made a comment that we’re a bunch of couponers or something of that nature. So what if we are??? You don’t say that to your customers, we are paying customers after all. If you feel that your food is worth much more, don’t advertise for half off and free gelato — done. Once we got the check, I think this was really where it went down for us… I wasn’t in the mood to be confrontational… but this is something that needed to be put out for everyone to know. On the bottom of their printed menu, there’s a note that said«18% gratuity will be added to a party of 6 or more». Well, there are only 3 of us, and she added $ 10 gratuity to our tab. We asked her why and she said that it’s added to every single party regardless of number of people. It seems premeditated that she felt the need to do a disservice to herself by slapping that gratuity on our tab. Or maybe she was upset that we ate her gelato without having to pay for it … If she wanted to charged everyone 18% gratuity, then she needs to update that print. Pizzas were good but the service needs work.

We wanted a date night, but we’d been spending too much, so we needed something a little less spendy. Scoutmob brought us here. It’s annoying that it’s valet only, but looks like the kind of small parking lot that would be difficult to manage anyway. We sat ourselves at a table for four, 1 of only 2 not taken at 8pm on a Friday. The space is modern, with plastic décor, bright colors, and sterile lines. The kitchen is open so that you can see the pizza oven and the flames inside. Having heard from others, we’d already decided what we wanted, thought we did read the menu in front of us and on the wall. We tried to start with Peroni’s but they were out, so we each got a plastic cup full of Chianti. We got the Cesar salad to split. There wasn’t much to it — greens with tomatoes and Cesar dressing. For our pizza, we went with the Tartufo — carmelized onions, truffle oil, aurugla. Crispy crust at the edges, but soggy in the middle. No red sauce, which I actually prefer, since most make the red sauce sweeter than I’d like. I keep thinking that I’m going to like truffle oil, but it always comes off a little too something. At least the arugula was delicious. They’ve got social media deals(Scoutmob($ 10); free small gelato with check in($ 5)) so double check before you pay full price.

First off, shout out to Scoutmob AND Unilocal!for my discounts! Tartufo is a cute little café to the left of Fogo de chao on the intersection of Piedmont and Peachtree. Parking can be tight depending on the time you arrive, but at 1:00 a few days after New Years, there was only 2 other tables occupied during my visit. I ordered the polpette with added caramelized onions. If using the scoutmob discount, you have to order the large pizza which was fine since leftovers was going to be SO’s dinner that night! Everyone gets a little plastic tray instead of plates. Its cute, kinda like Ikea meets pizza. My pizza came out pretty quickly, smelled delicious and was HUGE. The cheese was an oozy, melted yummy mess but made it too hot for me to start eating right away. I managed to have 2 slices before my lactose intolerant kicked in. The carmalized onions were really yummy and the flavor went well with the earthy, thick cut slices of mushroom. I think I would be a regular here if it weren’t for my lactose intolerance. When I checked into Unilocal!I saw that there was a check-in offer for a free gelato. The server was really nice and let me use both of my discounts. I decided on the vanilla and chocolate chip gelato and wow, it also was really yummy too! Service was great and prompt. A bonus when lunching in Buckhead!

The pizza is really really good — on par with Antico. I especially liked ‘toppings to the edges’ rather than the big doughy crust one can get at Antico. The atmosphere is casual. The service was friendly and attentive. I liked that the pizza comes on a wood tray. I had the parma — and it was fresh, tasty, and a good melding of flavors. I had a sample of the gelato. I was hooked. I agree with another person that the plastic plate/trays are off-putting especially if one gets a plate that has more knife marks in it because of wear/tear. I will definitely return, especially since they have a lunch special $ 1010″ pizza and a drink. Worth it.

Came here on the recommendation of my coworker who spent a year in Italy and was a self proclaimed pizza lover, so I had high hopes. I wouldn’t have come if it were not for the Scoutmob discount I saw on their website(because dude, 20+ dollar pizzas??) but thankfully there was a discount and thankfully we were able to use it. First off, it is ridiculous that you need to use valet parking to eat here. It is a pizza place, not a fancy tasting menu place. I would at least like the option to park in some front spots if they are available. I’m loving the décor and seating and the servers were super nice. The pizza itself is DIVINE. I believe what I said to my husband was«this is the best crust I have ever had in my entire life» and I’m a crust person! I eat everyone’s crust if they leave it behind. The pizza itself was pretty yummy too. We got the one with sausage for over 20 dollars. We also got some gelato for dessert. Was it the best gelato I have ever had? Not at all. But can you get gelato anywhere in the buckhead area? Please message me if you know of a place because I would be dying to go there. I also like how they grow their own basil in the front — how cool is that? Overall, I would totally come back to this place if the prices were LOWER. It is 100 times better than Buckhead Pizza, and if you are willing to drop that much money on Buckhead Pizza, I would urge you to try this place out(because Buckhead Pizza has bad pizza AND bad service). Sadly, I don’t live the lifestyle where I spend over $ 20 on pizza… so I will be ordering from Papa Johns from now on =p But seriously, the crust is amazing.

I liked the pizzas. First time we visited, we ordered the Calabrase pizza, which is basically pepperoni on tomato-based pizza topped with cheese. We also requested to add garlic but that didn’t happen. We like cubed tomatoes on our pizza so we thought that would happen since it says(especially in this order): salami, tomatoes, mozzarella. This round of pizza also came in 10″ not the usual size like the other tables were getting, and no it wasn’t lunch time. But pizza was great. Second time visiting I thought I should use my Scoutmob and I really wanted to try the signature Tartufo pizza. We ordered salads too and they were both delicious. Although too heavy on cheese and if you’re lucky you get to bite into 2 mushrooms per slice and an occasional taste of caramelized onions. I don’t like that, although I admit when I did get to taste and bite into mushrooms and onions in one slice, it was heavely. This time it came in the usual 14″ size. The check came and with the Scoutmob coupon, we were charged a service fee and in total only got a about a couple dollars off the check. And I really did not like the yellow plastic plate. For the price, I think they can offer better and not having to compromise in terms of smaller pizza size and the lack of ingredients. Pizzas and salads were great but I’m forgetting the taste after my overall experience and I ain’t comin back. Btw, I don’t know how Scoutmob works for businesses, but I bet nobody will be forced to give discounts if they’re not willing to give any.

Deeee-lish. Attached by a small door to La Fourchette. Parking gets insane; valet-only options at night don’t excite me, but it’s fine because this pizza is the real deal. I decided to use the Scoutmob for my most recent trip, so my pizza ended up being super affordable, but I’d totally pay full price for one of these, since they’re quite large and in charge. I ordered a Parma, to go, and some Caesar salad. Like Kathleen said, the salad here is actually super great. My pizza was even more than great. It was WAY great. The ingredients were obviously super fresh, and the quality of the mozzarella was evident, especially(surprisingly) in the leftovers. Cheap mozzarella doesn’t hold up the next day, but this stuff was still good. The crust is perfectly chewy, holds up well, and the red sauce they put on their pizza tasted almost a little wine-y, which is a quality I really appreciate in pizza sauce for some reason… it’s possible that the lack of wine in the last 5 months of my life has finally gotten to me. Whatever. They offered me some cold water while I waited for my pizza, and they were kind and helpful when offering recommendations. The space isn’t special, so I’d stick with takeout, but it’s some of my favorite pizza in the city. Also: GELATO.

Tartufo consists of one big room, with the open kitchen in the back. The kitchen had one wood burning oven and a lone pizzaiolo manning the pies. Tartufo looks like an intimate spot. I liked the simplicity of the space. We tried the standard for Neapolitan Pizza: the Margherita. The crust was flat; it didn’t have flavor. The underskit had decent char, but the sides of the crust were just brown with no blisters. I thought that was a bit weird. The sauce also didn’t have the taste I was looking for. I don’t know what it was, but maybe the sauce seemed too sweet for me. They also cut up the basil into strips. I thought that was interesting. I know older pictures showed their Margherita pizzas with uncut basil. They seemed to have done everything right with the Margherita. They used San Marzano tomatoes, basil, and fresh mozzarella. However, it just tasted like lunch room cafeteria pizza from High School. We tried the Tartufo Pizza as well. This pizza tasted 100% better than the Margherita. I loved all the toppings on it. The arugula, truffle oil, caramelized onion, and mozzarella made a great combination. When I saw the truffle oil, I was nervous. I had some dishes where the truffle oil overpowered and ruined the dish. But the truffle oil seemed to add a nice touch to this pie. Even with the same flat crust, the toppings made this pie great. As of August 2012, if you check-in on Unilocal, you get a free, small gelato. So I tried it. I got the Nutella Gelato, and it tasted marvelous. It was thick and creamy and loved the taste. The service seemed charming, funny, and nice. At our table, we had both the Unilocal coupon and the Scoutmob. We were suppose to use 1 coupon for one party, but she allowed us to take advantage of both coupons. I thought that was cool of them. In the end, we got a free gelato and a great deal on the pies. The parking situation can get iffy though. Their parking lot looks like their space, small and intimate. When it gets busy in that tight parking lot, it takes forever to get your car. We waited nearly 10 minutes to get our cars. The parking attendant worked hard to service everything. He looked very busy. Because he had trouble getting all our cars and taking care of the cars coming in, he gave me my keys so I can get the car myself. I didn’t mind. Besides, the valet service was free so I didn’t have to pay to get my own car. Anyway, my recommendation is to avoid the Margherita pizza, but try the Tartufo Pizza. I would give this place 3 stars because I didn’t like the Margherita, but the Tartufo was good, the gelato was good, and I liked the service. So I’ll bump this place up to 3.75 stars.

Since they were on Scoutmob I decided to go all out for lunch and get the $ 22 Tartufo pizza and a $ 1.95 coke(maybe they dropped their price to under $ 2 based on Kathleen M.‘s review :)). The pizza itself was fantastic with a great truffley flavor. It really matched up nice with earthy mushrooms and carmelized onions. Mozzarella as the main choice made it even better. Nicely chewy and a great char as well. Not as perfect as Antico and Fuoco, but still in the top five pizza crusts in all of Atlanta. One thing to keep in mind is that getting here can be a pain in backside if you’re coming down Piedmont from Peachtree as you have to U-turn into a four lane Piedmont Ave and then come back up towards Peachtree. If it’s rush hour, you’re gonna have a bad time. Price-wise they’re a bit more expensive than Fuoco, but cheaper than Antico. After this experience, Fuoci is still my favorite of those three, but when they’re on Scoutmob it’s hard to pass up.

I came here or a quick, casual dinner because the Scoutmob was about to expire, & I’ve been wanting to try this place ever since I saw it on Scoutmob. When we arrived, it seemed a little busy, but we were still greeted with happy smiles. The restaurant was filled with modern, family friendly décor, and they have tables as well as a bar at the back where you can watch the pizza making process. This place seems like a family run business, and although I love supporting small, local restaurants, the food didn’t impress me. We started with the Insalata Mista, which was some bagged mixed greens salad with a balsamic vinaigrette. We tried the Margherita pizza, and it was ok, but nothing special. I’m sorry to say, I don’t think I would come back here based on the food. Also, the plates are yellow plastic, which would be cute for kids, but not for adults. Simple white«real» plates would be much more appropriate, and they would add for a better dining experience.

Of all the great restaurants in Buckhead it’s hard to pick a single place to have a casual dinner and relax. On both occasions of visiting I’ve had the Tartufo(Truffle oil, caramelized onion, roasted mushroom, arugula, fresh mozzarella) and tried the Calabrase(Spicy salami, san marzano, fresh mozzarella). The area within the restaurant is packed, it’s a small location so I wouldn’t recommend it with larger groups, but for groups of 4 or less it’s ideal. Tartufo has outdoor seating as well, perfect for relaxing with a beer until the pizza arrives. Staff is needed when needed, however back to the pizza. The Tartufo pizza is by far one of the greatest pies i’ve ever had. The toppings are fantastic– the cheese blends perfectly with the truffle oil, complimenting the caramelized onions and roasted mushrooms. Biting into the hot and gooey bread he arugula gives the pie a fantastic refreshing taste, and follows to compliment the other ingredients perfectly! This pie, is perfect. However, in my opinion the Calabrase wasn’t quite what I had expected as the taste between spicy salami and the mozzarella proved to have an interesting Cheeto like taste. All in all, Tartufo is a fantastic restaurant in Buckhead, worth taking a trip to from outside Atlanta. Out of all the pizza places I’ve gone to in the Atlanta area, this place is the best at what they do. As a tip– if you don’t feel like going with valet parking, you can always park up by the container store and walk down.

Driving by here many times I had no idea of this hidden gem. There is valet parking and outdoor seating. Small restaurant with an open kitchen but the aroma of delicious foods makes your mouth water. FOOD: We decided on the Tartufo pizza($ 22) which is truffle oil, caramelized onion, roasted mushroom, arugula, and fresh mozzarella. Since it has fresh arugula, we didn’t get a salad to start. For 2 ppl this pizza was the right size to get your fill. We didn’t miss the red tomato sauce. This pizza was the right combination of nutty and sweet flavors with a hearty crust. Yummy! We even convinced the couple at the table next to us, to order this pizza and that they wouldn’t be sorry. They were pleasantly surprised and even finished their pizza before ours, even though we got ours first. Prices may be higher than most pizza places but I’m willing to come back again for their great food!

Tartufo is one of the better casual options in this area of Buckhead. Valet parking may be a pain to some, and you never warm up to the froyo parlor-like interior(clean, though). But get over these minor gripes and you get to eat great pizzas that are to me among the top 5 in the city. The style: A tighter construction with thin face and narrow ridges, very chewey throughout. Not as puffy as Antico and Fuoco, but as moist. Superb dough that is baked perfectly. High quality topping ingredients, simple Italian recipes. With around 10 pizzas to choose from, it’s more options than Antico/Fuoco, but not as many as Fritti. The lineup provides a good variety covering most of the popular recipes of this style, and also includes the interesting Uovo with egg and ricotta. A little disappointing is the lack of sausage – there is prosciutto, meatball, and salami, but no sausage. The Bianca is a lot cheesier than those I’ve had elsewhere, with a potent combination of robiola rosina, mozzarella, gorgonzola, and ricotta. I like that they are generous on the basil and mozzarella in the Margherita. The san marzano based tomato sauce taste great on whichever pizza it comes on. I’ve eaten here quite a few times now and always leave satisfied. I prefer the substantial and perfect Antico dough, but Tartufo pizzas are solid and I can only think of 2~3 other places whose pizzas I like as much. The lunch special is a great deal, not to mention just the fact that it exist is so convenient: $ 10 for a smaller version of ANY pizza, plus a soft drink. Great place!

I’m giving three stars based upon the quality value proposition. It’s kind of expensive for what you get. I do think they could easily get to four stars. They seem to use great ingredients but the whole isn’t better than the sum of the parts. Quality flour, San Marzano tomatoes, truffle oil… all are great ingredients used by Tartufo… but it didn’t seem to be as good as it should be. The pizza was $ 20 for a Polpette(sp?) pizza(meatball) for $ 14. However, the oven wasn’t able to make the crust as crisp as it should be. Plus, they made the bottom a little too thin.

In our quest to find great pizza in Atlanta we tried Tartufo last weekend. It was a beautiful sunny breezy day and we were able to sit outside. We got the lunch special($ 10 for a 10″ pizza and drink) and had a great lunch. I got the Parm which was just OK. I this had been my only pizza here we prob would not be back. I really didn’t love the sauce and the ingredients were just a little boring. My husband however had the Tartufo and it was AMAZING. His pizza had truffle oil, cheese, and caramelized onions. It was very rich and totally to die for. I would be interested in trying other of their creations or just getting the Tartufo again next time! FYI the portions are a good size and I think the lunch special is a great deal.

Truffle oil. That’s all she had to say and I was sold. The tartufo pizza is a 14″ pie loaded with mozarella, mushrooms, carmelized onions, arugula, more mozarella, and yes, truffle oil. It’s one of their tomatoless pies but it was fantastic. We used our scoutmob(it works for carryout!) so we got the whole thing for $ 12 and some change. Even with the tip, it was an excellent deal. It’s a small restaurant connected to La Forchette right off the intersection of Peachtree and Piedmont Rd. Restaurant was tidy, staff was very friendly, and the cooks, from what I could tell, were Italian. One guy even had a shirt with an Italian flag on it. That’s the real deal.

a very decent place for pizza, lasagna, and italian ices/gelato. I had their lunch special which is a 10″ pizza with a small drink for $ 10. I can see coming back for lunch, but not at all for dinner. Normal prices for their standard 14″ pizzas are 14 – 20 bucks. Very small outside seating, which is really part of the parking lot.

When I first sat down I was appalled at the prices. While there was an advertised $ 10 lunch special, the menu made no note of it. Instead I was greeted by $ 15-$ 22 pizzas, and, most egregiously, cans of Coke for a whopping $ 2.50. Ridiculous. But then our friendly waiter described that the $ 10 lunch special meant a special lunch-sized pizza and would apply to any of their pizza topping options. That’s pretty rad and most likely a heck of a deal. Since I was with date, we decided to order the regular sized Tartufo along with a Caesar salad. The salad was delicious: super fresh and a great but not too overpowering Caesar flavor. The pizza was too much for two but made great leftovers. And oh man, the Tartufo. Truffle oil, mushrooms, caramelized onions, and arugula. SOGOOD. I’m not one to analyze the char or chewiness, but know this: this is a damn good pizza. So why not 5? Well, I’ve got some issues. 1. Valet parking only at night. Not cool– this is a pizza joint, after all. 2. Styrofoam plates and plastic cups/utensils. It’s not that hard to get the real thing, and a heck of a lot better for the environment. For the price you’re paying and the quality of the food, you should get a real plate. 3. Yeah, I’m still bitter about the $ 2.50 can of Diet Coke.

Came in with a Scoutmob deal, and was extremely pleased with everything. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was causal but still very nice, and the food was fantastic. All the ingredients were fresh and flavorful. I had a great experience here with my friend, and will return to try one of their many different pizzas. I had the Tartufo pizza, the arugula on top was so fresh, the cheese was fanastic, and you could really taste the truffle oil on it, nothing was overpowering and everything really worked together. We also had the Caprese salad, the tomatoes were beautiful, the basil was full of flavor and the mozzarella was on point! I can’t wait to go back, they will have a regular out of me for sure!

Great meal. Everything is imported from Italy except the produce(because you can’t import produce). Family run establishment. Our waiter this evening was the cousin of one of the two business partners. Owner Mounir was very nice, and while he says he’s not an IT guy, he’s killing it with the social media on fb and twitter. Had the amazing Tartufo pizza(with truffle oil!) and also the Carthago(has tuna on it). The Tartufo was splendid, but my friend and I hated the Carthago because it was canned tuna and just didn’t taste right. That being said, the waiter came to check in promptly and offered to make us another pizza and get rid of this other one, which we gladly took him up on. Caprese appetizer was delightful as well. Great service, great attitude, awesome décor, and delicious food. They’ve got a good thing going here. PLUS — if you like them on facebook and then show them the like on your smartphone, they’ll give you 20% off your order. Great deal all around. I’ll definitely be back. Sorry I didn’t get any pics of the pizza! Hopefully somebody else will snag some.
