I’ve never felt more like myself than when Phil cut my hair last week. After years of long, tangly, over processed locks, I wanted a short do. I brought in some pics of what I liked and didn’t. Phil looked, listened, and tuned into who I am and where I am headed. Using geometry, intuition, and my wild waves, he sculpted a versatile hairstyle that I barely have to maintain. Other places would just blow out and straighten my hair– leaving me disappointed every time I styled it because it just never looked as good.
This haircut actually gets better each day and for such a short length, I can style it differently in just minutes and feel me! I will absolutely be going back to this studio from here on out.

Both Lisa and Phil have not only amazing skills, but also wonderful personalities. Every time I go to Studio Philisa, it’s like meeting up with old friends, AND then leaving looking great. People always compliment me on my cut and color, which Lisa does perfectly to match my personality and lifestyle.

I have been going to Phil in the «Phillisa» for some 10 years now and he is the best hair stylist I have ever had. He knows hair like Fox Brothers knows BBQ. Highly recommend for all your adult hair care needs (does not do kids). For guys, the cost is very reasonable

It took me years to find a place like Philisa! I have had a hard time finding someone in Atlanta who could do blonde and not make it look bleached or orange. Lisa does a perfect cut and color! I started going to Lisa because my husband went to Phil. They are not only someone I go to get my hair done, I consider them good friends. I would highly recommend them.

This is a very friendly, customer service oriented business. Phil and Lisa get to know their clients personally, so they can customize hair styles with their client’s lifestyles.
I’ve tried every type of place for a haircut: military barbers, chain «GenericCuts», women’s salons, and high-​end places that serve scotch, and this is my favorite for its value and service. My wife and several of her friends go as well. If you’re looking for a place to get your hair cut or (whatever women do), this is it.

Phil has been doing my hair for a little over 4 years now. I have intermittently tried other salons inbetween and each time I have regretted it. Phil just knows what will look best on you and takes his time to make sure he gets it right.

I have been going to Lisa for 11 years now, I would not go to anyone else in the city. Both Phil and Lisa really listen to what you want to do with your hair, and they are honest with you about the upsides and downsides of cut or color. I love that about them since most stylists will just do what you ask or not even listen which usually results in a substandard cut or color at a hefty price.
In addition, these two are just cool people. I always feel great when I leave the salon and I get plenty of compliments on my hair!

It took me 10 years of searching the ATL for a talented and trustworthy hair stylist… and then I finally found Phil!
My first visit was so comforting… we sat together and looked at color as he listened to me and explained exactly what he was about to do and what I could expect… the results were so fantastic, I LOVED my hair for the first time in 10 years!!! Ever since then, I excitedly go to my appointments, completely trusting in Phil as he goes to work creating a work of art each time and always with an extra special thoughtful touch.
I have long naturally dirty blonde hair and my hair has never been this healthy, long and shiny! And the color… Always Gorgeous, Unique and exactly what I was imagining (always «fitting» me). My best friend in Florida who was my trusted hair stylist when i lived there even commented on a FB photo saying it was the best she’d ever seen my hair look :)
With all this said and beyond the hair, when you step into Studio Philisa, you step into a space away from the chaos of your day. The studio also doubles as an art gallery with awesome tunes accentuating the vibe. Phil, Lisa and their Daughter are some of the coolest people I know in Atlanta. They are extremely loving, caring, down to earth and incredibly inspiring. I enjoy my time at the studio with them as much as the happiness with my hair! I am so grateful to have met them for so many reasons. They have really created a very special space, sharing their warmth and tremendous talents with open arms :)

I’ve been looking for the right hairdresser for a long time. Most places do a good job and my hair looks good when I leave, but I have always felt like most of them didn’t listen to me when I was telling them what I wanted. I have very thick, and until recently very long hair that takes a lot of maintenance to deal with. A friend recommended Lisa to me and I had my first appointment yesterday,
We talked about what I wanted in terms of cut and color. We sat an looked at pictures of different hairstyles to figure out an idea of what I might like things to look like. Eventually what we settled on was unique — a bob that was longer in the front with a soft angle to the back and color that framed my face and was peeked out from the under side of my hair.
Not only are the results fantastic and I look great, but Lisa is the first hairdresser that explained to me what she was doing and why. We talked about different angles for my cut, how it would fall, the hairline on the back of my neck. She really thought about everything, not just how my hair would look when I walked out of the salon.
Both Lisa and Phil are very personable and they have a wonderful intimate salon. I don’t know if I could ever trust my hair with anyone else again. Also a bonus, they had the best music I’ve ever listened to while at a salon. Each song that came on after the other was one I loved — a mixture of some Indie, Trip Hop, Classic Soul, each one a song that was upbeat and had me singing along with it.

I love Lisa and a visit to Philisa’s beautiful space and time spent with Lisa, her husband the gifted and fascinating Phil and their exceptionally talented designer daughter Angelique is time spent in a beautiful, loving and talented and gifted arena. Lisa does a magnificent job with my hair, with cuts, with colors and all my needs — she is compassionate, generous, warm and talented and an exceptional human being. Both Lisa and Phil are amazing and I am honored to be included among their clientele. They have created a beautiful hand designed space of great sophistication, and hippness combined with great humanity. I am thrilled to know Lisa and would trust her with my life — AND my hair!
