Peanut brittle with hickory-smoked Tennessee bacon! I saw mention of this in a NY Times article and I love me some sweets and I love me some bacon, so of course I had to order a box of Sir Francis Bacon peanut brittle. This company’s tagline is ‘Purveyor of Gustatory Delights’ and is based in Atlanta, Georgia with no storefront so you’ve got to order from them directly online. Although I think some high-end places carry them in the Bay Area(try Dean & DeLuca or Draeger’s). They make ‘em in small batches and I hear they even have chocolate bacon brittle now! Cons: A bit expensive at $ 16 for an 8 oz. box of bacon brittle, delayed gratification via shipping(+ extra cost for shipping, no shipment to P. O boxes or internationally) Pros: Novelty factor with a sweet and savory combination of flavors. Don’t have to try making it on your own if you’re not a confectioner. Great for your friends who love sweet and savory or to build up your foodie credibility :)
