I had read wonderful reviews about Serve & Pour online, so I had no reservations about hiring them as waitstaff for my November 1st wedding. I was contacted by the manager Bryan a few days before my wedding and was told that the headwaiter would contact me later on the week to go over a few details. I was promised that the staff would arrive 30 minutes before the 12pm start of my wedding to set up hors d’oeuvres, tables, etc. Long story short, no one arrived for my wedding until 2:30pm. By that time, I was forced to hire other waitstaff from another company at the last minute, and paid a pretty penny at that. When the Serve & Pour«professionals» finally did arrive, they did not even have the decency to approach me or my groom to explain why they were three hours late. My guests had already eaten, and the clean-up process had begun, so the Serve & Pour staff didn’t have much to do. The following Monday, I contacted Bryan, the manager, and explained what happened. To my surprise, Bryan yelled at me, offering excuse after excuse and acted completely unprofessionally. When I had explained to him that I was frantic because I could not reach him or any of the waiters on my wedding day, his response was that he doesn’t answer his phone on Saturdays and that the waiters were in a place that did not have cell phone service, so what did I expect him to do. This was completely shocking. He was also relecutant to refund me, and in fact, only gave me a partial refund. I was horrified at having to experience this on my wedding day. Perhaps my circumstance was the anomaly that Bryan said it was, but I have a hard time believing that there was nothing this company could have done to handle things better than this.
