My husband and I eat here at least once every other week. My husband is Jamaican and this is his favorite Jamaican eatery in the city! They are AUTHENTIC and delicious! Everything on the menu is good. They are quick, but for seafood orders call ahead.

A good friend said she comes here for lunch and I decided to try it versus driving to Stone Mountain. I have no regrets! I got a jerk rib dinner, a jerk wing dinner and a large oxtail dinner. They were worth every dime. The jerk isn’t too spicy and is so flavorful. The ribs were falling off the bones. The chicken was also grilled to perfection. Th oxtail was very good and it was tender. I like that they used oxtail and not cow tail as some of these other Jamaican restaurants try to do. They were stingy with the oxtail gravy but didn’t have a problem giving me more gravy when I asked. The plantains were sweet and the rice and peas had good seasoning. I can’t wait to go back and try the stew chicken or one of their seafood dishes.

I can appreciate sarcasm when it’s accurate but when I asked the cook why the red snapper was $ 25.00, he responded«where else in this area will you find red snapper». I felt that was insulting to the community and also false. There are nearby restaurants that do not charge as much. In addition to the bad service and unreasonable cost, the fish was slimy, smelly and undercooked. I also got a veggie plate which was tiny and unappealing. Although I usually only eat where there is a 90 or better, the score of the facility was an 82 but I gave it a chance because of some good reviews and because I like to support black owned businesses in the community. I made a misjudgment and will not recommend anyone to eat here.

I grew up on this side of town and never allowed my taste buds to be delighted with the sweet and savory Carribean flavors that this place has to offer. Finally, because of my husband’s keen eye for good food we tried Scotch Bonnet and instantly fell in love; we went twice in a week it was so good! For the amount of food you get the prices are fair. Enough about the basics, let’s get down and dirty. I had the jerk chicken with rice and peas, cabbage, a plantain and coco bread. My chicken was SUPER tender and has just enough spice to make me sniffle, just how I like it, not too spicy though — no watery eyes! The rice and peas were seasoned perfectly and had a very distinct yet enjoyable flavor. Wish I knew what that was! My husband had a smoked platter which included curry goat, beef ribs, and jerk chicken. Of course I nibbled off of his plate, and everything was AMAZING! I honestly can’t find one bad thing to say about this place!

This place was a spur of the moment find but the aroma that filled the air suddenly triggered my appetite! I was a little nervous at first to find this fantastic smell coming from a trailer but I had to give it a shot. Unfortunately I was in a bit of a time crunch being that I was working on an emergency vehicle and was expecting a call any minute. I stood in the line for about 10 minutes before I made the decision to try it another time. As I was walking back to my vehicle a gentleman from the«kitchen» came to me in the parking lot asking what he could get me, stating that he could have it ready in «45 seconds.» I ordered what I think was a jerk chicken plate. I handed him a $ 10 bill and he sprinted back to the trailer. No more than a minute had passed and the gentleman returned with a take out box FULL of food with that distinct smell and my change. I thanked him and told him to keep the change(I should have given him more for such great service.) Once I got back to my vehicle I cracked the box and took a few bites… O. M…G!!! I have never been to Jamaica before but I have had plenty of Jamaican style foods and this was by far the best jerk chicken I have ever had! I can not wait to come back when I have a little more time to try the rest of the menu!

Excellent. Get there before 6 if you want curry goat. Oxtails are good. Parking is easy. Place to eat outside of the weather is good.

Very disappointed! I ordered the grilled jerk sausag on a bun. For starters i specifically went out of my way to have the guy taking my order ensure that the sausage was indeed grilled. So as i stood there for over fifteen minutes smelling that awesome meat on the grill i just knew my sausage was going to be delicious… image my surprise when i get in the car open my bag and i have this nasty $ 6.50BOILED sausage! Irritated i went back to the counter and asked if i could have a sausage that was grilled he then looked at me and said«it was» which of course was a flat out lie. I decided not to argue but instead leave a review and never return. They have lost a customer for life.

This is my favorite Jamaican food spot in the city. I’ve had everything on the menu and all of it is good and super authentic. My favorite are the oxtails. Tender and flavorful. The jerk ribs when available are the best you’ll ever have.

My wife loves this place. This has become a weekly routine for us. The ribs are the best in town and you can smell the aroma in the air when driving up. I’ve had other Jamaican places in Atlanta and none of them can compare to Scotch Bonnett

Being a advocate of the belief that«everyone should go to Jamaica at some point and take in the culture» I have done that many times and one bite of the Jerk chicken here takes me back to street side tin drum chicken shacks in Montego Bay, Negril, and Kingston. The food here is easily the most flavorful Jamaican food I have had in the entire south and it’s pretty ironic it’s served out of a trailer. You know these guys mean business, their smoker looks like it’s worth more than the trailer. The jerk ribs were the best spicy ribs I have had in my life actually and I freakin love ribs. All varieties of ribs I’ve found in San Francisco, San diego, Atlanta, chicago, birmingham, and YES, best spicy ribs I have had. Lastly, I drove home about 20 minutes and the food tasted freakin awesome. I can only imagine how it is there. Close to Lion’s Head golf course.

i’m a creature of habit, and i haven’t ventured beyond the jerk chicken. but that dish is perfection. their jerk seasoning is aromatic and best enjoyed by fans of heat and bold spices. the jerk plate also includes generous helpings of shredded cabbage, rice and peas, and caramelized plantain. the beef patties aren’t made on site(and i suspect they’re from a box), but they’re usually sold out. if that’s a must for you, hit ‘em up early. service is quick and friendly. it’s also a good way to brush up on your patois. try not to whine up in the parking lot.

This is the second time I have been to this restaurant. Jerk chicken, beef patties, jerk sausage. All of it fantastic. Glad I found it, even though I drive 30 minutes to get here.

So I believe Scotch Bonnet has taken over as the greatest Jamaican in my book. Sorry Tropical Cuisine. How did I come to this conclusion? As I was splitting the large Jerk Chicken Dinner($ 10 and can feed 2 people) for myself and the boo, my mouth started watering. Like literally. They have an assortment of dishes from jerk wings(can also get jerk bbq), ribs, chicken sausage, salmon-you name it they have it. They even have the basics-beef patties, coco bread, and plantains. The owner smokes his meats and you can smell it as you come down Campbellton road. Divine! This is right down the street from the crib so I will be back. Consistently.

Never fails to hit the spot!!! I’ve tried jerked chicken mild && regular(extra spicy). only go for the regular if you like your eyes watering with snot running down your nose lol. Curry chicken(thumbs up) plantains(the best) sooooo good. Mouth watering thinking about them. Oxtails(OMG) BETTERGETYOUSOME. I have tried a few other Jamaican joints. They can’t hold a candle to good ol scotch bonnet. They also have a red velvet keylime cake a real treat if you have a sweet tooth They have tings && other Jamaican sodas. A smoker which is a must for real official jerk … && even their rice && peas && cabbage are the sugar honey iced tea :) be back soon !!! I’m trying the jerked lamb ribs next time!!! Their motto is is if it’s meat… we will jerk it!!! One more thing… their tax is included in price. How awesome is that?

I was halfway over to Scotch Bonnet before I realized it was twenty minutes until closing time. I called ahead to place my order and was told by an employee that they don’t accept phone orders near the close of business. Womp womp. Fortunately I wasn’t far away and got my order in under the wire. I usually get the Brown Stew Chicken dinner(it comes with a side of rice & peas and cabbage) and a cream soda. I always pass on the cabbage but everything else is really well-spiced. They must have the chicken cooking all day because it’s falling off the bone tender. The portion is so hearty that I can only eat half of it. That’s ok because the leftovers taste even better the next day. Minus half a star because this last time the service was curt and unfriendly. Maybe they were ready to go home for the day and were annoyed that I came near closing time? Possibly. In any case, Scotch Bonnet serves the best Jamaican food I’ve had in Atlanta so far.
