Chicken taco, lomito take your pick it’s all good. Great restaurant if I could go there everyday I would.

Food is excellent. Fresh fish tacos are my favorite, but I’ve been coming here for years and you basically can’t go wrong no matter what you order. The only reason I don’t rate it as 5 stars is that you w ill almost always have to wait a long time to pay, since there’s no one dedicated to running the cash register and the guy preparing the food and running the kitchen has to go back and forth between the grill and the register. Worth the wait, but be prepared.

I love this place, but I’m so bummed it closes so early. My disappointment is because this place is soo yummy. I always get the grilled chicken taco and as others have mentioned, they cook everything on the same grill, right before your eyes. Because of this the food tastes hot and fresh. I love that they give you the option to customize your taco toppings, I always get grilled peppers and grilled onions which is not always available at other restaurants. Here, you can always get them without an upcharge! The owner and the chef are both really nice, customer service has never been an issue here(even when I called to tell them I wanted to try and show up right before they closed, no problem, they said they would wait!) The chipotle sauce is also really yummy. Best of all, free chips and salsa and they also provide everything needed to take it all to go.

I am from Houston and travel to Atlanta every year to attend the ProgPower USA festival held in September at the Center Stage Theater. Which is now within sight distance of Sausalito’s after the relocation. I always thought I’d be patronizing local pizza joints every day of the festival for every year to come. But Sausalito’s has usurped that coveted spot by virtue of one particularly awesome menu item: their Cuban sandwich. I initially thought of going here because, in addition to colleagues, a very prominent musician from the festival recommended it. I initially went here because my local friend was instantly sold on the idea of a Cuban sandwich. I initially intended to go just once but went every single day: Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. All to order this fabulous sandwich with perfectly griddled bread, unctuous roast pork, and well-melted cheese over the ham. It’s a treat I never get to have in my hometown. And even at $ 9.95, with free chips and salsa included, plus beans and rice on the side, it’s a tremendous meal that is much more convenient than trying to eat a whole(and more expensive) pizza by myself or trying to grab some friends away from the onslaught of bands and merchandise to go out for lunch. Not to mention the owner, Ernesto, is extremely friendly and appreciative of his customers and will recognize you every time you come back. My money’s on him recognizing me next year. And the joint stays open late just for ProgPower weekend because they recognize their fame amongst loyal attendees and have the means to exploit it. That shows an owner who’s not just business savvy but bends over backwards and then some for his customers. Absolutely stellar experience, all three times. Will be back at least once every single year until ProgPower is no more. And hopefully some other time even then.

Note that this restaurant has moved from its old location into the side of the John Marshall law school. The old location next to Vespucci’s is no longer accurate, it is now down the street. I have been coming here for years. A casual lunch spot that manages to provide good food and great value. In my opinion, this is the best takeout spot in the area. Fresh ingredients, interesting and flavorful dishes, good value, and friendly service. The food is truly delicious. I almost always get a chicken taco salad with a variety of homemade salsas, fresh veggies, and blackberry habanero dressing. Delicious, fresh, and healthy food that I believe to be the best, most well rounded lunch option in the area. The service has always been great, too. When I ask for it extra spicy, the chef went to the back, sliced up a habanero for me and cooked it into the chicken with grilled jalapeño — It was fantastic! The owner is also a really nice guy who genuinely enjoys his customers.

(4.25 stars) Without question, a Unilocal-guided lunch selection that«hit it out of the park.» Sausalito West Coast Grill offers truly good food, an extremely outgoing owner and(at $ 10/head) an excellent price value. The menu at Sausalito combines Mexican and Chilean sandwich-type food with a Cuban sandwich and some daily blackboard specials. Service is cafeteria-style, complete with the ubiquitous red plastic lunch tray, and in a unembellished utilitarian setting. Fortunately, the food is sufficiently«off-the-hook,» and the management so gregarious and generous, that matters of ambiance almost become irrelevant. Yes, the food is that good! Much of the family ordered fish tacos, including one sea bass taco, and all of it drew raves. I chose the Chilean pork lomito, a large grilled roll loaded with large slices butter-soft marinated pork sirloin, a generous scoop of fresh guacamole and chipotle mayo. Savory, spicy and extremely flavorful, I could easily eat this sandwich three days a week and not become bored by it. The entrees are each served with black beans and rice which were present simply to moderate the spice, rather than introduce additional layers of flavor– something that the lomito clearly didn’t need. Each platter also included a small green salad, and I chose to dress mine with their tasty mango salsa, rather than one of the dressing choices. It was also delicious, even though its core consisted of nothing more than a simple green salad. As we were dining, the owner brought to our table a large plate of large homemade cake wedges and big cream cheese-frosted cupcakes– all gratis. The cake was amazing, and the gesture again demonstrated that this is one very smart business owner who knows how to win grateful customers. Frankly, he had me in his corner after the first bite of the lomito! Thank you, fellow Unilocalers, for the guidance. Sausalito West Coast Grill is amazing, if more than a little sparse in its aesthetic elements.

Absolutely fantastic food. Got the catch of the day fish tacos and for the price it was a great quality and an insane amount of food. Definitely recommend, also get the cake, you won’t be disappointed.

Amazing thai food. I ordered the Siam chicken which was super flavorful and the rice comment was good. The Mai Thai was strong enough and was properly created. My friends and I devoured the coconut cake which was moist and had a subtle undergone of coconut flavor, it wasn’t overbearing. I will definitely be back to try other dishes.

A little more pricey than I normally spend on lunch, but he gives generous portions. I had the Sausalito Lomito with rice and black beans. He has salsa and tortilla chips a la carte.

Food is delicious, but their customer service is a bit strange. Definitely catered to regulars which I’m sure is awesome for them, but offensive to others. I had to wait at the cash register while the presumed owner/manager carried food to another table, got them drinks, napkins and flatware(this is a self serve place, so most customers do these things on their own). I felt so awkward waiting while these other customers who came in after me were catered to and able to begin their meal before me. Food is good(chicken nachos, delicious!) Just don’t like the way I was made to feel.

I heard this place was awesome and I always love authentic Mexican so I went for lunch oneday and got the special enchilada. I’m not sure if they were understaffed on the day I happened to drop by but it took forever to get my order in. Then they made a mistake on my order and asked me «it’s ok?» And put it on my plate. I figured they were too slammed and I was too chicken to ask them to make another one so I just took it. Everything on my plate was covered in retried beans and the chips were stale. It was not a good experience.

Where to begin? Friendly, outgoing owner, fresh, unique food, and a great outdoor seating area. I ordered salmon tacos, a daily special that came out charred on the outside and succulent, tender, and moist on the inside. Seared quickly and coated with a delightfully salty, savory glaze, it was the best meal I had while traveling in Atlanta. Salsa was delicious, as were my friend’s meals(Sausalito chicken tacos and a Sausalito lomito). A must visit. Just one note though, the place is moving across the street to another location soon.

I’ve never been disappointed, but I never order the Mexican food. My husband is from Chile, so of course I order from the Chilean menu options. The Chilean owner is super friendly and guessed my husband was from Chile before he even opened his mouth. The Sausalito chicken sandwich is my absolute favorite chicken sandwich of all Atlanta. It’s large, smothered in guacamole, and amazing. The rice is prepared the way my mother in law cooks rice, with garlic, onion, and carrots. Yummy! The fish tacos are also the best I’ve found in Atlanta. They also have a fresh made salsa that is perfectly spicy.

If I’m looking down at a burrito and wishing I had«run for the border» instead, it’s a problem. Unfortunately that’s what I found after checking out the offerings at Sausalito. The place was a bit of a hole in the wall — not that that’s some indication that there isn’t good chow. Food is cooked to order by a friendly chap behind the counter. Word of warning — everything is cooked on the same grill, so if you’re a strict vegan or vegetarian, you’ll want to steer clear. I ordered a steak burrito to go and hoped for the best. What I got was a deeply sad excuse for a Mexican staple. Beef was cooked pretty well, but then thoroughly anhilated with an extremely salty sauce. More of this sauce was dumped on top, along with a helping of cheese, which was then melted. That’s it. No rice. No beans. Not even any veggies. Just salty sauce, tortilla and beef. Not great for $ 7.50. The tacos, on the other hand, looked pretty good. If I had to go back, I’d probably aim for those. But steer clear of the burrito. Es no bueno.

An okay place to grab lunch if you’re at the office and want to switch it up. The food is pretty decent quality– no Chipotle, but definitely not Taco Bell either. Prices are decent, on par with the rest of the restaurants in the area. The atmosphere leaves something to be desired, though. It’s very dark and not particularly clean. As someone who likes to sit down for lunch out of the office, I never pick Sausalito’s unless it’s nice and I can sit outside.

I dined here for lunch, and I wasn’t impressed with the food. The service was fine, nothing memorable. The person making the tacos seemed nice but I didn’t really feel like they were pleased to have my business, or that they really cared if anyone came in at all that day. I ordered three tacos: 2 steak, 1 halibut(taco of the day). The meat was barely lukewarm, and there was no flavor to anything. The halibut was chopped(not in one piece) and I found a small bone in it. They offer free chips and salsa with your meal. The salsa tasted like pace picante sauce from the store. I went here based on pretty good reviews so I may have just ordered the wrong thing but I would not recommend this place and will not be returning. I would prefer Moe’s, Willy’s or another chain to this place.

Sausalito gets a high five — stars for affordable itp lunch. The food is fresh and a’plenty. In addition to Mexican food, they serve wraps, sandwiches, and salads. I like the Mexican food options. I appreciate how you can customize your entrees. Granted the lunch crowd can be horrendous and intimidating, the line is actually not too bad. The servers here are friendly and the manager/owner? was really nice to us. He even came out to check up on us and offered to take away our plates. I really enjoy the fish tacos and shrimp tacos. They’re soft tacos and there’s an assortment of veggies and sauce for you to add onto your tacos. They have daily specials that’s worth checking out. I ended up getting a 3 taco plate because it was a better deal for me in the end. The plate came with salad and beans. I really like the salad as it’s a bit spicy. There may have been some fresh bits of jalapeño in it. The salads entrees here are ginormous as well. You can add up to five toppings with your salad in addition to protein. Two people can easily share a salad. The meals come with complimentary chips and salsa.

I just started working close to Sausalito, so I decided to check it out. Wow, I’m glad I did! I now try to eat there at least once a week if not more. They have a daily rotation of fresh fish available, and it’s always good. So far I’ve had the sea bass and tuna, both were excellent. The pork carnita tacos are also really good. I had the shrimp kabobs one time, they’re packed tightly with shrimp and vegetables. What I like about this place is you can substitute a salad instead of rice & beans for no charge. I’m trying to eat a little healthier, so grilled fish + salad is just about as healthy as you can get for a 30 minute lunch. The owner is a good guy, but may come off as a little gruff to first time visitors. I’ve never seen him be rude to anyone, but he is balancing being a good host and getting people served as quickly as possible. When the lunch rush has died down, he’ll go around and make sure everyone is enjoying their meal. You can see it means a lot to him when people tell him his food is so good. In keeping with my other reviews, I’ll talk about the heat potential of the food. They do have a spicy sauce, which has an excellent flavor, but the spiciness is akin to tabasco or sriracha. I like to dump it on my food as it has a great taste to it. As far as heat potential goes, on a scale of 1 – 10, 1 being a bowl of rice and 10 being a Chilean Gaucho’s branding iron, I’d give Sausalito’s a 4.

This places serves Mexican & Chilean food. The first time I came here, I got a fish taco. Seabass(not tilapia!). Sounds impressive, right? Not if I told you there were fish bones in my fish taco. But their chicken taco was very delicious. And gave me enough reason to come back … so much that I come here 1 – 2 times a week(it’s next door to work). This is one of those places where you order up front and they cook the food to order. The chef guy is super nice, very warm, and reminds of Emeril except a Latin version :) And after you get your food, make sure you get the complimentary tortilla chips & salsa. CHICKENTACOS($ 2.35) Tasty slices of chicken breast, fresh guac, pico de gallo, flour tortilla. I’ve gotten this multiple times — not only b/c it tastes good, but also b/c it’s just $ 2.35. Sometimes 1 taco is enough(b/c I also get a lot of chips & salsa) but 2 tacos is probably a good portion for lunch. SAUSALITOLOMITO($ 7.95) Pork sirloin sandwich on toasted bun w/fresh guac, lettuce, tomato, and signature Chipotle sauce. Also comes w/rice & beans, or fries. One time I had seen the person in front of me order this dish and the pork looked so delicious — he said he gets the Lomito all the time. I finally tried it and fell in love. The pork sirloin is very good, and tastes like it’s been marinated in lime. It’s just very messy to eat — I ended up deconstructing my sandwich and forgoing the buns. I’d still get it again. Beans & rice were very good, too. Oh — and I was actually able to make two meals out of this. GRILLEDCHICKENBURRITO($ 5.25) This turned out looking more like an enchilada than burrito. It definitely wasn’t a Willy’s. The burrito had chicken(tasty), cheese, and a very spicy sauce on top. I ended up deconstructing my burrito and just eating the chicken b/c the sauce was too spicy. It was missing the fresh veggies to cool off my mouth :( SIDESALAD During one visit, the chef gave me a complimentary side salad — the lettuce always looks very fresh here. Except I made the mistake of getting the«blackberry habanero» dressing(b/c it sounded so unique). My lips were BURNING!!! However if you like spicy, I dare you to try it :) They have a good selection of some unique dressings. STEAKTACOS($ 2.35) These are good, too. Overall 3.5 stars rounded to 4. It’s next door to my work so I come here a lot. I just wish there were more inexpensive items. And I do need to try the fish tacos again … and hope for boneless fish :)
