Food truck dining for me is all about good food done fast! If you cannot deliver on one of those 2 points then you need to reconsider your menu or your business model . I’m sorry to say Rouxd needs some time to reconsider what they do. What I got was neither good nor done quickly. I got a chance to eat at Rouxd at the Atlanta Food Truck Park. Out of all the other probably better choices I picked Rouxd. Anyway, I ordered the Pork belly death fries because it sounded super interesting. Cajun seasoned fries covered with pork belly with jalapeños, not bad right? Well, the execution of the dish was nothing close to what they described. The whole dish was a bit on the cold side. The fires needed to be hot and crisp to stand up to the mayo sauce that it was tossed in. The Pork belly needed to have a bit more kick to be a part of «death fires» the jalapeños I think came out of a jar. My mistake was thinking that the«death» part was referring to a spicy kick. What it actually referred to was the massive heart attack I would have had I finished that overly greasy dish. Overall 2 star rating for a good idea that was executed poorly.

Chose their food truck to stand in line for two hours at the Atlanta Taste of the Trucks. Was it worth it? For me, no. For the BF. it was more favorable, but he does admit that I have a better palette than he and he just likes to stuff his face lol. Along with Loren B., I chose the grilled skirt steak with sweet potato and plantain hash. The BF ordered the pork belly po’boy with pickled vegetables, sriracha aioli, and wasabi ketchup. My skirt steak was flavored well, but it was so CHEWY that I found myself just forcing myself to swallow it because I couldn’t break it up. My stomach probably hates me for it, too. The hash sat underneath the steak and soaked up all the oil. I thought that they would cook the sweet potatoes and plantains so that they would have the same soft consistency, but the plantains were still raw. The portion was small for the price. I could’ve gotten a lot more at a sit-down restaurant. I was still hungry, also, and I don’t even eat that much! BF liked the steak better than his po’boy, which was fine by me. We both found that it was nothing special. The pork belly wasn’t crispy and quite dry. The skin/fat part was chewy and made it hard to swallow. I saw that it definitely had an influence from the Vietnamese Bánh Mi but with a cajun twist, didn’t taste as good and was a lot more expensive. Service was pretty unfriendly. But I guess that’d be attributed to working in a hot truck all day with tons of customers to get in and out quickly. The stars reflect the quality of food and price, which was $ 22 for the both of us. Overall, I’d choose another food truck to try out next time.

The worst thing I have eaten this year. I spotted this food truck at the Underground asked if they had a Unilocal page and they said no… I should have KNOWN then. Ordered the steak and sweet potato hash. Sounds yummy right? But it was the worst! The steak was chewy and the sweet potato hash didn’t seem to be cooked all the way… and they lost a lot of their flavor because it was swimming in the oil of the steak. Very small portion and it wasn’t good… I’m still hungry. Tragic.
