This Rita’s used to be great… but I think it’s under new management and it has gone downhill. We went Thursday night for ice… at least an hour before close and they only had 4 types of ice left(one was sugar free) and no custard. I really feel like this is unacceptable. We got my niece a small ice and went down to Starbucks for coffee instead. I used to go out of my way to visit this Rita’s for Italian Ice… but the flavor choices and stock have been disappointing lately.

Home style Italian Lemon ice like Ralph’s Italian ice on Staten Island. Homemade with fresh lemon pieces in it, a slice of frozen heaven.

Came in 15 minutes before closing and the workers were putting things away and seemed annoyed but I already knew what I wanted(Mango custard). Everyone I knew that lived in Florida hyped this place up but it was just… custard and Italian ice. I guess I will never find Italian ice as amazing as New York Italian Ice. *sad face*

Rita’s hit the spot on a hot summer day. Took the family for custard and Italian ice after their swim meet. Just as good as the Rita’s I first went to in Delaware many years ago.

I absolutely love Rita’s. My girlfriend introduced me to because she works at one in SC but this particular one, it’s alright. The ice itself is amazing but the girls that work at this location could use some re-training.

Very friendly staff. I love Rita’s! I had my heart set on Cherry water ice but they didn’t have any so I tried the Mango and Juicy Pear… DELISH! My husband acted like he didn’t want to try it but as we were walking out he changed his mind and went with the Mango. I think I got him hooked! I’m definitely looking forward to Spring/Summer nights here on our date nights :-)

Mint chocolate chip and orange gelati! Grew up having these but due to moving around because of military, lived in places where Ritas wasn’t even known! it was a shame and I was so happy to finally move to Georgia and have one not so far from me anymore. although it took a two hour long drive, I got my Rktas Italian ice! my mom was more excited than I was! bummed out because they didn’t have cherry but we still enjoyed these awesome summer treats! When I was little they didn’t do the gelati. It was a lot better than I thought it would be and will probably start getting the gelati. Loved the mint chocolate chip ice because it wasn’t as creamy as regular ice cream that’s a little too filling! this was perfect and definitely hit my mint ice cream craving! Already wanting another and it’s only been a few hours since I’ve had one. That two hour drive is starting to suck! Hope my town puts one in soon! good prices that are well worth it!

A looooong time ago I won a $ 5 gift card to Rita’s. I held onto it for ages, despite the fact I used to live pretty close to the Midtown one. I knew there was one in Dunwoody(sorry, Google Maps, North Brookhaven? I can’t.), but I didn’t know where. My boyfriend and I had been playing frisbee in the park across Ashford-Dunwoody, and he mentioned ice cream(he wasn’t talking about this place but oh well), so we came over here. I always stick with the Swedish fish ice, but they did not have it that day, so I got something called Cream Ice instead. It was okay, I had a birthday cake flavor, and it’s just kind of a weird texture. So after we were sitting outside eating, my boyfriend decides he wants to try the coffee flavored custard. Now there is an awesome texture. I had never had the custard before and I started regretting my decision to get this cream ice stuff. It’s like dairy-based velvet. I also really did not understand half the other things on the menu, but the outside sign kind of clarified, so I knew next time I wanted a gelati. So this time around my precious Swedish fish was on the menu, and I had it as a gelati. This means some custard, vanilla in my case, is in the bottom of the cup and on top. Next I really want to try a Blendini but I don’t really want the sugar coma it looks like it includes.

Yum! We went to Rita’s on one of the first warm days of spring a few weeks ago. As soon as I had some of that chocolate chip cookie dough I knew would be coming back more often!

I’m originally from upstate NY and frozen custard is where it’s at. These guys are a solid substitute for a NY staple like Abbott’s and they have other products to give them a twist. If I wasn’t so homesick for straight frozen custard every time I came in I’d certainly try their slushie/custard combos.

Yum! :D Randomly decided to grab some Rita’s this morning before a long day of working on cars, laundry, meetings, and cooking dinner. My sister frequents this place a lot but… obviously not with me since today was my first time here lol. I got the mango Italian ice, and it was delicious. It tastes like fresh mangos rather than the artificial stuff. Of course it’s not perfect, and you’re going to be able to taste the syrup, but I found my Italian ice quite delectable. :D Blueberry and Mango gelato was also on the list that we had ordered, and they loved it as well. Service is excellent and super friendly! Right down the road from my grandparents so I might stop by regularly once it gets a warmer.

Went on a warm afternoon with one of those Groupon now deals, so it was $ 3 for a cold treat. I can’t figure out this place. Custard, gelato, ice… What are you, and do you do any of them well? My answer: *Shrugs* Ehh. Decided on one of the blended options, a mango vanilla crunch. It was OK. Liked the creamy part of the vanilla, but it underwhelmed me. I guess I was just expecting more and didn’t get it. Probably won’t be back unless there’s another deal worth trying.

Yummmy! I had my first experience of Rita’s in Pittsburgh on a snowy day. Even then I fell in love with it. I was ecstatic to find out that they had it here in Atlanta. They have great flavors and the staff here is excellent. You can try samplings of different flavors before you decide. They usually have some new flavors each time. On a hot summer day, there’s nothing better than a cool treat at Rita’s Italian Ice. Only open from Spring to Fall. Sign up for their mailing list and they’ll usually send you coupons. They also offer free Italian ice on the first day of spring. So mark your calendars!

I’ve been here several times, and all of the flavors of Italian ice have been quite tasty. The specials are good deals… I like! Being across the street from Blackburn Park, and within a mile of Keswick Park, it’s a great place to stop by after a pleasant outdoor afternoon or evening…

A friend dragged me here with promises of custard. I wasn’t really sure what to expect at first but boy was I impressed with the custard/icee combo! I still have no idea what it’s called but the mango icee with vanilla custard mixture is unexpectedly delicious! I’ve been back here several times since that first visit to satisfy my custard/icee cravings.

SOOOOO yummy! My sister and i shared a watermelon ice/custard combo and it was really good. We had to go back a second time and tried a mango ice/custard combo. They are very sweet, so i think sharing is a good idea. We got a good deal on monday. We were able to get a larger size for the same price as the smaller cup. Will def go back for more. =)

Low and behold… a Rita’s in my own backyard. I don’t have to drive too far to get to this location. 2 hours ago, I finished a mango/strawberry icee… and my daughter had the same. That’s my favorite combo! The best part about it, is this location will give you a large for the price of a regular on Mondays(dunno if they all do that… hadn’t seen it at the Smyrna or Underground locations). They have specials almost every day of the week. I can almost hear all lactose intolerant people saying… God Bless Rita’s!!!

Want a quiet place with free wifi? At 18°F outside, Rita’s is SILENT! I felt sorry for Rita’s last night and got a small mint chocolate chip ice. You know what, folks? It is NEVER too cold to enjoy tiny chocolate chips in minty water ice. You could offer me one of these while I’m dying of hypothermia and I would savor the ever-living custard out of it.
