This was literally the first restaurant I ate at while on a 2 month assignment in Atlanta. Delicious and cute. My girlfriend and I both got sweet potatoe pancakes, as well as some biscuits and gravy, both delicious. The staff was pleasant, food delicious, and the ambience on-point. I think that as a «white hetero» individual, that there is a certain obvious privilege that many of my counterparts have, as I have seen it with my own eyes. That being said, I don’t think that the comments made by this company were racist, I actually found them to be funny and quite accurate. People need to not be so sensitive to social satire, and to just enjoy some delicious breakfast makin’s. Cheers to Rise-n-Dine, will be back soon.

I ordered some breakfast tacos. My pleasant waitress unblushingly brought out a plate of eggs that someone had accidentally left a tortilla on. Not a problem. I smiled. I ate it. I like eggs. I even ate a flour tortilla. I am not a taco snob. Then I ordered a side order of pancakes. My nice waitress placed in front of me with no hint of shame a giant plate with four, maybe five, pieces of lonely bread that someone had allowed to accumulate. I ate one. I asked for syrup. They brought out a thing of pasteurized corn syrup – as if I wouldn’t know what it is because the plastic bottle had a folksy log cabin on it. Speaking of painfully folksy, the inside of the place looks like someone’s idea of what a kitcshy diner should look like. There’s a pretentious selection of content-free pictures and a pitiful bar that someone forgot to fully install. Then the bill came. There, the only plausible explanation is that me and my friends had unwittingly been paying for the privilege of standing and sitting along a characterless, ‘I am too hungover to go anywhere else,’ sidewalk. If only I knew. How this has gotten only two $$ is a mystery. I gave my waitress a suitable twenty percent and went about my day. Perhaps the worst part is that I seem to find myself there frequently. If not frequently then at least more than I’d like to. The only explanation is that I have a habit of keeping my mind a careful blank when I prepare for an unpleasant experience. I don’t know how to break this cycle because I don’t know how it started.

The food, mainly breakfast/brunchy, is my local Decatur fav. Over the past, god knows how main years, Rise-n-Dine has been consistent and high quality in every way. My standard AM Tacos are still the same great meal, and with a Café au Lait, I am pleased to have such a great place in Atlanta area and right here in Decatur to enjoy the meal. While a busy place, it is worth the wait — a list that is always well organized and managed gets you in with universal fairness. Fair is the game with the wait, and that is usually faster than expected. Get a cup of Joe or tea while you wait, and you will not be disappointed with the food and friendly service.

Adorable, kitschy breakfast café! I’ve been here twice, and the food was wonderful both times. This week I did the make your own omelette with tomatoes, capers, mozzarella, and chicken sausage– divine! There is usually a long wait on the weekends, but that’s true for ANY brunch place in Atlanta. The service as been prompt and friendly when I’ve been there, and there’s plenty of parking behind the building. It only loses a star because the coffee was really terrible both times and had me wishing I keurig-ed it before I left home. This is confusing to me because other reviewers praise it, and they serve Counter Culture which is usually great. It tasted burnt… maybe the way they have been brewing it when I went? Overall, a great brunch spot with lovely ambiance.

We always like to try as many different restaurants for brunch as we can to experience Atlanta cuisine. This week’s choice was Rise-n-Dine. The parking lot was of average size. You can enter through the back door from the parking lot or walk around to the front and enter. We had an extremely long wait, but there was a group of us and we made the best of it. The food taste average. Service was polite and prompt. I did not have a mesmerizing experience, but it was pleasant.

Went for Mother’s Day. Love that the food came quick and wasn’t greasy. They get 5 stars bc it was Mother’s Day. One of the busiest restaurant days and graduation weekend for Emory and they got us in and food was good.

Really solid casual breakfast spot with delicious sweet potato pancakes. I also had the chicken sausage breakfast tacos which were very tasty and filling. They use good chicken sausage in their tacos along with egg and cheese. The service was very friendly and quick, and the coffee was much better than the average cup of coffee at a breakfast place. Again, I highly recommend the sweet potato pancakes for their light fluffy sweet deliciousness.

Pro: –Cute, homey décor –Got the 2 egg(poached) + yogurt and grapefruit sides. Portions were fair for price Improvements: –Slow service: Came here around 10:30am on Monday) –Poached eggs seemed more like steamed egg. –Presentation of food could be better.

Came here on a first date. My date researched and came up with this place for breakfast after I got off work. I initially thought it was too far but it was rated so well I thought it would be worth the drive… WRONG! I arrived and tried to get on the list. I stood at the host desk for about 5 minutes before being acknowledged by anyone although there were two other females standing there the entire time. The grey haired host ignored me about 3 times before telling me that he would be with me. I really didn’t pay it any mind because it was a Saturday morning and I knew that they would be busy. We waited about 30 min before being seated… which I expected so that wasn’t even a big deal. Our meal and waitress were both mediocre. Food came in a timely manner, no mistakes. Blah omelette and blah pancakes. Log Cabin syrup was weird to me but whatever. After finishing our food the waitress brought the check and we paid and continued to sip on our coffee while chatting. Pretty normal behavior for a first date. I think the thing that bothered me the most about my visit was when the grey haired host came and told us an old lady was waiting for 30 minutes and needed our table!!! I wonder if he told the guests before us the same thing…? Nothing irks me more than being rushed out of an establishment after spending my money(or his money in my case :-)) to patronize your business! Needless to say I won’t be back and I’ll recommend that any of my friends stay away.

Host is crotchety. Rude to the point that we left after patiently waiting in line for 15 minutes. Update: Restaurant employee commented below and called me a liar. Nice. I actually timed the wait, so you«Stephanie», are incorrect. Furthermore, where were you when the crotchety host was struggling and failing miserably at his job? Your comment doesn’t change anything except drive home the fact that this place sucks and I’ll be sure that friends and family stay away to avoid the same unpleasant experience we encountered.

Rise-n-Dine stands out to me as one of those local, cute breakfast/brunch places. I’ve heard of how busy it is on the weekends. My fiancé and I came on a Monday morning since I was«working from home» and he had the day off. The restaurant wasn’t completely full, but pleasantly bustling. Our waitress was hilarious and helpful with great recommendations. I went with one of their 2-egg combo breakfasts with turkey sausage. The turkey sausage was one of the most memorable things, strangely enough because you could tell it was made in-house: flavorful and not too salty. I also don’t get juice often, but I have to mention that their orange juice is squeezed fresh. My fiancé had the pierogie omelette and well, as odd as it is to have pierogies in the morning, it was delicious. I wish I had ordered what he had. Plenty of parking behind the restaurant, awesome service, and great food. I’d love to go back if it wasn’t so out of the way.

This Valentines Day I realized my girlfriend made me the luckiest guy on earth for a dozen reasons. One of those might be the fact she is still an Emory student, giving me an excuse to come back to this amazing diner when I can. This place warrants a visit from anyone in the are, not just those who are Emory-affiliated. The one knock against the restaurant I will say upfront. The place gets busy on the weekends and on holidays, completely understandable. However, the hosts could do better with estimating wait times. I have had 10 minute waits turn into 30 or more. What makes this a little better is they will offer you the drink of your choice while you wait. The restaurant itself is small. Not great for groups of more than 4. It’s a small breakfast nook, which is what it tries to be, so don’t be surprised if it’s a little crowded. The wait staff are the best. All the waiters are super friendly and bring their own blend of Southern charm and hipster friendliness. The food is NOT greasy spoon food. Yes, the place may look like a diner, but the food is fresh, organic, and local. My personal favorites are the Spanish omelette(filled with peppers, onions, and chicken sausage) and the polish omelette(kielbasa, cheddar, pierogies, and onion). If you are feeling a bit more indulgent, I totally recommend the Nutella pancakes. I have never once had a bad dish here so please try anything. The coffee is also fantastic(I think they use fair trade Counter Culture). I really am saddened I don’t get back to this place more often. If you are in the Emory area, please please go.

Rise n Dine gets a solid 3 stars from me. Service was awesome but the food was just ok. There wasn’t anything spectacular about my meal that would warrant a 4th star. I ordered 2 eggs with a kielbasa link and silver dollar pancakes. And my husband had the lox scramble which was pretty good. The hot coffee was better than the iced. The iced coffee left an odd aftertaste. Although the place was slam packed we were seated in a reasonable amount of time. I liked the vibe of the place and as I mentioned before the service was pretty awesome. I would return again

Went here to celebrate my birthday with a couple of girlfriends. Parking is a pain; pay attention to signs in the nearby lots to make sure you are parking in an acceptable area. Rise-n-Dine is very busy for brunch so I was expecting a wait. But it wasn’t bad. I ordered a build your own omelet with a side of potatoes. Came with toast and jelly, as well. Everything was amazing! So happy I finally went here. Definitely lives up to the hype. Can’t wait to go again!

Rise n Dine is basically everything you would want from a brunch place. Good food, good people, and a really cute atmosphere. We ate at the counter instead of waiting for a booth, but it really wasn’t an inconvenience. The only thing I don’t like about breakfast food is that I feel like I can never get full off of it lol. I had a half order of french toast, biscuits and gravy, 2 sunny side up eggs, and some potatoes. I’d definitely come back!

I would HIGHLY recommend this location! The food and service was amazing. Our service was provided by Theresa and she was extremely nice and knowledgeable about menu items. This was our first time and it won’t be the last. The prices are very reasonable and the restaurant is very cute and chic.

First impression is important… I love the decorations in here(on the girly side for sure)! Even on a Friday morning, they had a most tables filled and customers coming in steadily. We only had to wait about 5 – 10 minutes before we were seated. The menu is a bit intimidating with lots on plus on options, but my parents and I ended up ordering the greek omelet, two eggs with mixed greens and silver dollar pancakes(2 sweet potato and 2 buttermilk), and another two eggs with chicken sausage patties and quinoa grits. The portions here aren’t huge, but it’s enough to fill you up. My scrambled eggs tasted very creamy(probably lots of butter when they cooked it or added milk) but good. I also liked the sweet vinaigrette they used with the mixed greens. The chicken sausage patties were good, but a bit salty and not as juicy and tender as I had imagined. The quinoa grits were interesting, you can definitely taste some spice in them. Overall, I enjoyed my breakfast here and staff were very friendly and the restaurant was super cute!
