This restaurant has some serious staying power for three very good reasons: A) The food is really reliably stellar. 2) The service is always good. D) The food is really stellar and the service is always good. Pasta Da Pulcinella is tucked away off Crescent Street in Midtown. I first experienced the place back in 2003. Its has a certain basic appeal that keeps people coming back. The place is comfortable. It lacks pretense. It’s a great spot for any kind of date, or celebration. I’ve even see the occasional business meeting taking place. The food is a collection of carefully crafted favorites and crowd pleasers. They know what works, and the occasionally add to it with some freshly made specials. Your meal will start with some soft, warm bread and olive oil. It seems a stereotypical practice, but you won’t regret it here. The bread is fresh and soft and warm. Also, you really can’t go wrong with a salad, but I’m going to jump right in on the pasta: I like the Tagliatelle Verdi Alla Bolognese(hand made spinach tagliatelle with a hearty ragú made with veal, beef, some root vegetables, celery, tomatoes, and a little cream). The Chicken Ravioli is a total crowd pleaser. And the Ravioli Di Funghi is sure to make any vegetarian happy. Let the server suggest a glass of wine, and everyone is happy! I have to give a special mention of the Grilled Chicken Sandwich. It seems predictably simple. Maybe that’s why this one is so good. Service is very, very good. Servers are familiar with their customers but everything they’re bringing to you is done with a muted formality. And that’s a good thing. Parking may be a challenge, but Pasta Da Pulcinella is worth that hassle. I’ll happily be looking forward to my next visit. Holler if you’re coming with.

Went on a Saturday night with no reservation with my mother after a shopping trip to ATL. It was pretty busy so we waited about 25 minutes for a table for 2. Our waiter was a really kind fella. All the staff seemed eager/happy to serve/please. Mother ordered the Almalfi cocktail hoping for something like a lemondrop martini but it wasn’t like that at all. I orderd a Moscow mule and was sorely disappointed. They apparently do not use Fever Tree ginger beer. You have to use FT. No FT? Go home. But the food was delicious! The breadsticks were fantastic. I had the Pizzorcheri Coi Rapini which was tagliatelle pasta with greens, mushrooms, and garlic. Mom had the Tortelli di Mele(ravioli stuffed with sausage and Granny Smith Apples). Perhaps it’s better to order wine with dinner… maybe next time if we’re ever back in Atlanta. Seemed like a really great«date» place. Couples galore! I would suggest reservations!

Prices surprisingly lower than you’d expect. Staff had great recommendations. Place was packed so definitely make a reservation. Caprese was great and wine selection was extensive. Laid back but romantic and upscale atmosphere. Definitely would recommend.

A true diamond in the rough. I could kick myself for not going trying it out before. From the location it never seemed promising but inside its a whole different world. It’s one of those«homes turned into restaurants» place and hence is very cozy and non commercial from inside. The décor is very Italian/European with the right amount of art work to blending. Our server Hannah, I might have to write a review just for her. She was extremely down to earth, very witty and helpful in guiding us throughout the menu options and wine choices. She didn’t just make her own recommendations but inquired about our tastes and then told us what will suit us best. And she did great, from the wine to the food, everything was exactly what our taste buds were craving. As for the food, hands down one of the best Italian I’ve ever had. And keep in mind I’ve been to Italy and it was definitely very traditional Italian and wonderfully flavorful. The Tortelli Di Mele, with hints of fennel and the sausage beautifully blending in with the ravioli and the sauce, and not one flavor over powering the others; in all it was simply divine. My favorite was the Chicken Cannelloni. Though I’m not a huge fan of garbanzo sauce but somewhat the chef had just done a miracle with this dish. The two sauces with chicken just worked perfect together. The portion sizes were adequate. All in all its a classy restaurant with hints of coziness and free of pretense. Can’t wait to go back and try the other creations of the chef.

I absolutely love this place. Incredible food and impeccable service. Perfect spot for a business lunch in midtown… Can’t wait to go for dinner sometime. And don’t miss the wine specials, they can’t be beat.

This place is not too bug with nice atmosphere and nice Italian food . Service was extremely good. Variety of food for kids was so so. They dont have kids menu but we managed. We had a nice evening. Portion are small and price is a bit high in my opinion, but still it was a good choice.

Great pasta, good value for the money with some VERY moderately priced items considering the location. Service was the BEST I have had this month dining out, perfect level of personality and attentiveness. We had a group of four and everyone was impressed with the food, ambiance and service.

Very cute location and atmosphere — it’s an old house so there’s a very warm romantic ambiance. It’s too bad the food was underwhelming because the service was excellent. I’m a little confused by all of the rave reviews though… I didn’t find the food to be anything special. I got the fettuccini Alfredo, and although not the worst ever, not very impressive. The alfredo sauce was fairly thin and flavorless and the tomatoes used for the caprese salad were anemic and bland. Definitely not going to be a go-to spot.

Me and my husband went here before going to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens Holiday Lights. I tend to avoid Italian restaurants since my family is Italian, and they can never measure up to Nonna’s cooking. However, the location, atmosphere, and reviews led me to make a reservation. First off, great staff. Pleasant hostess was very accommodating when I called to let her know we were stuck in traffic. Waiter was excellent… friendly and not over bearing. I have to say, the atmosphere did not disappoint. Quiet and cozy. Perfect for a romantic dinner. I felt their wine list needed some work, wish their were more options by the glass. We had the calamari to start. The quality of the squid was very good, tender and they included the best part, the little tentacles. The dipping sauce was some kind of tapenade. The breading was okay, tended to fall of the squid as you picked it up and bit into it, but overall pretty. I had the gnocchi with spinach, tomatoes, chicken, and gorgonzola cream sauce. It was pretty good! I enjoyed the cream sauce and the gnocchi were pretty good. My husband had the bolognese, which I must say was very good. The red wine and carrots in the sauce really came through and was pretty similar to my mother’s bolognese. We finished with the tiramisu, which was very good. Mascarpone filling was light and fluffy. Not cheesecake-like which I find is common in many Italian restaurants. Overall, I would definitely go again!

Ate here last week on a work dinner. It was a pleasant meal, and I really enjoyed the quaint atmosphere. Our server was very knowledgeable on their wine selection and had great recommendations for food. The bread was delicious, and our appetizers were also good. We had the goat cheese truffles, caprese, and bruschetta. My arugula salad was also fantastic having been tossed in the perfect amount of dressing. I ordered the mushroom pasta, and it was good but almost lacking something to me. There are many other pasta dishes that they had that I would love to try, so I definitely plan on going back in the near future.

I was recommended this restaurant by our amazing hotel concierge and I’m so glad we came because our experience was 10 out of 10. The food was amazing, our server was so friendly, funny and full of personality and the ambiance was quiet and cozy. I got the lobster ravioli in a cream sauce and my sister and I shared the calamari which came with this mind-blowing side of tomatoes, almost like a bruschetta/salsa that I will never forget. Even the wine was great and reasonably priced. Our server mentioned that this restaurant supposedly has the best priced wine in the area. Overall, I loved it and would absolutely go back and am so glad I followed the recommendation of our concierge.

Unfortunately I’m knocking stars off based on poor treatment by the hostess there Tana Jo. When we walked in to the restaurant without a reservation, there was nobody waiting around for a table and she stared at her book for 10 mins before looking up and acknowledging us. She said we would have to wait 10 minutes for a table. No biggie, but we mentioned we saw a couple of open tables outside and preferred outside seating, and she goes«really? Let me know if you see anything open.» First off isn’t that your one job as a hostess? Second off, we already told her there were multiple open tables! Yet she still wouldn’t sit us down. From the beginning she was very rude to us but I dismissed it because I thought that’s just her personality. A few minutes later, a couple of guys walk in and she puts on a huge smile and is all friendly and greets them right away. We heard them say didn’t have a reservation either just like us. So we finally get the hostess’s attention again to take her outside to show her the open tables and there is one table that seats 4 which was ready for seating, cleaned and had table cloth on, and one table that seats 2 which didn’t have a have a table cloth on and wasn’t ready and cleaned. So we say, can we just sit here at the table that seats 4(we were 2 people) and she said very rudely«no we want to save that for 4 people.» I understand that so I was like ok, no problem. As we wait for the table to be cleaned off for the 2 person table, hostess immediately comes back with the 2 guys who walked in right after us with no reservations and seats them down at the 4 person table that’s as all ready. I’m still giving the hostess the benefit of the doubt thinking maybe a couple of more people are going to join these guys later on, but nope it was just them 2. From the minute she saw us she was rude. Total mistreatment, and won’t be returning for Tana Jo’s rudeness, she sucks!

I’ve been to Pasta Da Pulcinella several times over the past 3 years. I’ve always had a great meal there and I would highly recommend the small Italian restaurant. It’s located in a small, classic craftsman house in the heart of midtown Atlanta. The interior is cozy and warmly decorated — the front dining room adorned with dozens of classic Italian drawings. It doesn’t get loud because there are only about 15 or 20 tables at the most. Each one offers an intimate setting. The staff is almost always accommodating and the servers are personable and excel at service. On our last visit, we were taken care of by Hannah and she was honestly one of the nicest and most professional servers I’ve ever met. My only complaint in regard to the staff is that there is sometimes confusion on table availability and location. It’s not good to tell me there are no other tables available when I can see 6 open ones. Nevertheless, it’s a minor bone to pick. The food is exceptional and highly consistent. I fall prey to ordering the same thing almost every time because in my estimation, the tortelli di mele is as close to a perfect dish as one can get. It’s all made from scratch from the ravioli pockets to sausage inside. The medley of flavors is indescribably good. Try it and you’ll see what I’m talking about. The bruschetta is also very good. The plate comes with 3 different kinds — tomato, olive, and a mixed piece. It’s a very underrated appetizer — though obviously better when tomatoes are in season. For a seasonal dish, their pumpkin ravioli is hard to beat. It’s got an earthy flavor and is actually made with real pumpkin unlike so many fall items which are only flavored with allspice. The wine selection is decent, though not extensive. What they do have is carefully chosen and matches the food very well. This is one of those tough judgement calls because this feels more like a 4.5 star place than just 4 stars, but it’s not quite a 5 star experience either. From ambiance to service to the exceptional food, it’s never a disappointing experience.

Nice Italian restaurant in Midtown. We had dinner on a Thursday night and the restaurant was quite full. We had a great bottle of Italian Pinot Grigio(Trentino) and started out with Caesar salads. He had the vegetarian ravioli with red sauce and I had the buckwheat tagliatelle with spinach, mushrooms and crushed red pepper. It was very good. Overall the service, atmosphere and food at this restaurant are very good. Will definitely return when in the mood for cozy, reliable Italian.

Overall, I’m a little on the fence about this place. I loved the excellent service and warm hospitality. The food, however, was a little bit of a miss. I had the sausage risotto, which is one of my favorite dishes, but it was too starchy/not creamy enough and it had so much spinach that I felt like it was not in proportion with the other components. I tried my friend’s smoked salmon pasta, and I thought it was good and that I could even get into it after a few bites, but wow, what a non-traditional flavor combo. It took me a while to get over that the stuff we usually put on a bagel was in a bowl of pasta, but overall it actually worked. To start, we had the buschetta, and I can’t pinpoint why, but it had a kind of chalky texture to it, though taste-wise it was excellent. For dessert, skip the chocolate cake which was too dense and kind of boring.

This place is great. Went for midtown restaurant week with a friend. The food was really, really good. I will be back again soon! Despite my waitress spilling my water over, I would say the service is pretty good. We were seated 10 minutes before the kitchen closed at 1:30 but still got to order. My friend and I both enjoyed a caprese salad to begin with, which was good. We then shared our entrees– Mele Ravioli and Mushroom Ravioli. Both were FANTASTIC. They know what they’re doing with flavors and texture. I think I slightly preferred the Mele because it had some delicious creamy sauce, but the mushrooms were great and garlicy. For dessert we had the crème brûlée and the cheesecake. Both were very good, although crème brûlée has a special place in my tummy.

The good — food was great as usual. Their simple, high quality approach to food can’t be beat. Which is why when my lunch mate said he was in the mood for great pasta this standard came to mind. The disappointing — showed up at 1:20 and were greated with a «the kitchen is closing» instead of a hello. Then place closes at 2pm btw. We ordered fast, food came pretty quickly and was very good. However, the waitress only dropped by to ask if we were done yet a few times and to slap the bill down. No after lunch coffee or dessert suggested obviously. Very bummed by the service and it will be a while before I give them another try if at all.

Great little place. The outside does not give the inside justice. It looks like an old home, but once you step in, the inside is beautiful and immediately feels like an Italian restaurant. Apps were bruschetta, which were delicious. Had the spinach ragu pasta, and the sauce was awesome. The noodles had a texture I wasn’t use to, but my wife assured me that was normal because it was a spinach pasta. Highly recommend you check this out if you are by midtown.

This is our 5th visit over the past year. The food is good quality for what it is and we hope we can gain the desire to come back. Why you ask? The service on our last visit on Friday night was terrible. If you don’t want to serve tables and be around people then please find another job. Yes a party of 2 will only end up with a bill in the $ 100 – 150 range, but I imagine with good service one could do quite well The kitchen was not the issue at all. It was the front of the house. Please fix this!

Came here the other day per the suggestion of an old college friend that I was meeting for dinner. Luckily for us, the weather was absolutely perfect, and we were able to have a table outside. Street construction passing trucks did not necessarily make for the most quiet meal, but did not affect my rating. I ordered their Tortelli de Mele, their featured offering, and was blown away. There were so many flavors combined with the meal(Granny Smith apple, sausage, sage, etc) and all of them complimented each other without being overpowering. Cannot say enough good things about this — at least one person has to order this if you visit. I also tried the vanilla bean crème brûlée and was very happy with it. Cannot speak for my friends’ meals as we didn’t try each others’, unfortunately. I will definitely be back and bringing friends!
