Opus 1 is a small, yet highly enjoyable neighborhood bar off of Cheshire Bridge Road in Midtown Atlanta. Perks: — STRONG and cheap alcoholic beverages! — right around the corner from other gay establishments/night life such as BJ Rooster’s, Heretic, Jungle, Manifest4U, Eros, Las Margaritas, and Roxx — jukebox in the back of the bar with a plethora of songs for your listening pleasure Downsides: — clientèle is not diverse — the entire bar is no larger than than the size of a small studio apartment

It’s vain. I know. But some nights I really like places where I can be the most attractive person in the room(as opposed to those nights where I like to compete for attention). This is one of those places where on any given night young, cute boys will be in the spotlight. I don’t mean that in a rude way because it’s not that everyone here is unattractive… they’re just old[er] and seem to appreciate it when eye candy walks in the door. It’s literally a hole in the wall. The bar is only large enough to seat about 20 people and I think even I could throw a football from the front door to the back wall. They literally have two dozen plastic bottles of generic vodka shelved under the bar’s neon lights. There’s a jukebox in the corner playing a mixture of show tunes and pop. All that said, it’s pretty fun and the drinks are CHEAP! I don’t know anywhere else you can get Patron on the rocks for $ 6. Thanks to my friend Adam(not Dr. Adam) for calling and asking me to stop by during his bar crawl of gay dive bars. We lost our Opus 1 virginity together.
