I am having dreams about the cheeseburger empanada. It’s been a few days since I had it at the Shaky Knees music festival. But I can’t stop thinking about it! I may have to drive back to ATL just for a fix. For serious though, the ladies at On Tapa The World kept it real. The line was always one of the shortest at the music fest– not because it couldn’t compete but because those women run that truck like the machine it is. I also had the Papas Brava and half of the Buffalo chicken empanada. No regrets!

This is the first time I have had their food but we have food trucks each week at my office and this was by far the best food I have had on Food Truck Wednesday. The food was cooked to order, fresh and tasted incredible. I had the BBQ Pork Empanada and it was crispy on the outside and stuffed with delicious pulled BBQ pork on the inside. The BBQ dipped served with it was a great match. I also had the potatoes and like the other reviewer said they were absolutely perfect. Great flavor and the dips served with them just made them even better. I highly recommend giving them a try when you see them out and about.

Their name is catchy, right? As their name says, they do Spanish tapas. They’re one of my favorite food trucks — I just wish they came more often to Food Truck Tuesdays at the Galleria! You have to try their empanadas — or what they also like to call«fried meat pies»! ASIANBBQPORKEMPANADA — $ 6(or 2 for $ 10) When I asked for recommendations, the lady said this was the most popular. Smoked pulled pork, homemade Asian BBQ sauce and sesame ginger slaw. I was so glad I selected this one — sweet, flavorful and very good. Plus their empanadas are huge and cooked-to-order. I was so blown away I told all my co-workers they had to check this truck out. BEEFROASTEMPANADA — $ 6(or 2 for $ 10) I tried this one for my 2nd visit. Very tasty seasoned shredded beef, sauteed onions, roasted red peppers and fresh cilantro. This empanada was generously stuffed too — one empanada is plenty to eat! POTROASTEMPANADA — $ 6 Key is to always ask them which one is the best for that day — I went with this recommendation my 3rd visit and wow maybe pot roast sounds boring but it was not boring in my mouth. Juicy shredded beef with melted Swiss cheese and a side of horseradish cream sauce for dipping. Perfect comfort food … and you know, it’s in a fried pie too :) PATATASBRAVAS — $ 4 I asked the lady what side to get and she recommended the Patatas(vs. Plantains). They are fried potato chunks tossed in a seasoning blend, and they are cooked-to-order. Their potatoes arrive hot and they’re like pillows and so delicious but they are on the salty side — I still loved them enough to order them again for my 2nd visit. The potatoes are served w/two dipping sauce — their signature Garlipeno(ranch-like) and Romesco(spicy red sauce). The portion is very good — haha I’d hope so since you’re paying $ 4 :) You can bet that if «On Tapa the World» shows up on Food Truck Day, I will be there :)
