Ocean Market Downtown is amazing! Everything that I have tried there by far was delicious! Their grilled cheese is truly the greatest of what Atlanta restaurants offer! Such soft and cheese dish I haven’t eaten in a while! My wife had their roasted red pepper soup and when we came home she started browsing for its recipe on the Internet! It was so good! The pricing is also very affordable. I like their cooler with the neat drinks and small bakery section! Everyone should try this place out!

I was lucky once to find this amazing jem! I was on my business trip to Atlanta and one of my companions told that he knew there was a great place to grab some delicious food at. I hate that we finally got there only on the very last day of our trip, so my positive experience is pretty limited, BUT still I can say a lot about its interior, which is very interesting and bright! Their menu was great. I had Greek Fisherman salad, it was brilliant! I will certainly be back there on my future trips!

Ocean Market Downtown is on the top of my must-go-to list! It is pretty solid, but I wasn’t that impressed as many reviews were saying… I ordered Smoked salmon last time I got there and to be honest it wasn’t salted and smoked enough. Maybe, it is because there was no bacon, which usually comes with the dish. However, I like that spot a lot! It is very spacious, bright and nice. As for the prices, they are pretty reasonable. Nice place.

Since originally rating Ocean Market, I’ve been back many times and would still rate it with 5 stars. Everything is always fresh and delicious and made to order. A few of my favorite menu highlights are the Desoto’s Tossed salad, the Greatest Grilled Cheese Ever, and I’ve never had a bad bowl of soup. Recently tried the Cobb Salad and it was to die for. The bacon was incredible. The soups change regularly, but the tomato and cream of broccoli are two of my personal favorites. The soups come in fairly smaller portions, so get the larger size of you want a lot. The cup is a perfect smaller size to go with a sandwich. The pickles are also yummy! They pickle them themselves. Julian is the manager and he is always very friendly and provides great service. The space isn’t super large, but it’s not usually too crowded(most people seem to get lunch to go). I haven’t had a problem finding a place to sit. I wish they were open more than just during the week for lunch, but I understand their hours due to the crowd they’re targeting and the area they are in. Would highly recommend! Definitely worth it for lunch, especially if you work close by. I work downtown and can walk to many places, but will get in the car to go up the street to this place.

I like this place and I like the food. Good sized portions and lots of vegetarian options. The owner is French with the coolest accent. I do find it s little pricey. But other than that a really great lunch option.

Everything we had here was great! My crêpe with ham and cheese was amazing and the homemade chips were delicious! We went about a half hour before close and there was no line. Food came out quickly. Will definitely be back!

I am so happy I found this jem! Although, I am sad I found it the last day of my trip. It is nestled between some not so pretty buildings, but when you open the doors, WOW! It is open and bright and nicely decorated. I ordered the Greek Fisherman salad and it is phenomenal! I have to say it has been very challenging to find vegetarian dishes in this area that isn’t pizza or otherwise covered in cheese. I am certainly coming back for dinner!

The crêpe was perfectly made. It was just a small place inside a marketplace. Just right for an eat and go situation. Not good for chilling.

Ocean Market hasn’t made it into the regular lunch routine because it’s a little far from the office, but I love it every time I visit. Their salads are HUGE and delightful. Many options, fresh veggies, good dressings. Yum. It’s surprisingly difficult to find a great salad in Downtown, and Ocean Market does a killer job. The price point is slightly higher than the average lunchtime option around there(particularly for ordering at the counter), but I’m willing to oblige because of the healthy eating options. I’ve always been served by lovely people, and there’s never been a long wait. There are also some nice communal tables; I just like the feel of the room. I should definitely add it to the regular rotation. +1 for being close to the Civic Center MARTA station. It’s the only reason I can make it there during lunch.

Parking: limited street parking Service: You order at the counter and can get self-served water with fresh fruit slices. The employee was nice and patient when I didn’t know what to order. It took awhile for the food to come out though(and I ordered a salad). Environment: Very large open space with a big communal table in the room where you order. I believe there is another room adjacent with more tables. I got the East Snobb Salad which had mixed greens and romaine, grilled chicken, bacon, avovado, egg, onion, and tomato. Bleu cheese dressing is recommended but I got balsamic vinaigrette instead(and this came on the side). I’m a big fan of salads and this might be one of the best salads I’ve had. The chicken and especially the bacon were very tasty. However, not sure why a salad took such a long time to prepare(~20 minutes). My friend got a turkey sandwich that she thought was really great.(She frequents this place a lot apparently!) Other items on the menu include paninis, soups, and sweet and savory crepes(which I plan on trying the next time I come).

This place is solid, although it didn’t wow me like it seems to have done for all the other reviewers. I thought the smoked salmon in the club could have used a little more smokiness and saltiness, although this might be because I didn’t eat my sandwich until after I accidentally started eating my dining companion’s ham sandwich, so my taste buds were primed for more salt. Also, the smoked salmon club usually comes with bacon, which presumably would have added the saltiness and smokiness I was looking for, but I requested the bacon to be left off of my sandwich because I am a pescetarian(so big whoops on accidentally eating some of that ham sandwich). The cucumber salad was great, and I loved the bright, open space. Also, the prices were very reasonable. I would come back and try some of the other sandwiches.

When my best friend and business partner and I meet up, the ambiance is just as important as the latest gossip or next part of our business plan. Even more important is the food. We’re not after just any old sandwich or fast food stop to chat over. It has to be special. We always want to eat something good. Delicious. So for our last meeting, I suggested Ocean Market. The first time I visited this adorable food stop, I was confused. «Is it a fish market? Is it like an open-air market? What food do they have?» The name really threw me. I spend a lot of time thinking about getting places, and once there, how to park. Parking here is a bit tricky – you’re on Peachtree between Downtown and North Avenue. Your choices are paid street spaces, the Emory hospital lot across the street, or Marta. But once you get there, it’s a bit magical. You walk through massive white double doors into an industrial space flooded with light and bedecked with French country accents. Beautiful large wooden tables. Fresh flowers. Bistro chairs. The menu is diverse, but is primarily composed of sandwiches(both cold and panini-style), salads, crepes(both savory and dessert), and soups, all with a European flavor. They also have a fully stocked case of a variety of artisanal and small batch sodas. I’m not a cola girl, but give me ten cane sugar options, and I’m more excited than a kid on Halloween. I’m talking everything from San Pelligrino to Lorina’s to Fentiman’s to Maine Root. I always want them all. I usually get a grilled cheese with handcut potato chips. The last variation I had was built with pimiento cheese and roma tomatoes. Or sample one of the soupes du jour. I usually have enough left over to take home half for dinner. But I would recommend any of the options on the menu – the banh mi is generously sized and delicious; the crepes are the perfect size for a light lunch; the salads are made with fresh and beautiful dark leafy greens(I detest iceberg lettuce, so this is a big deal for me!). Would definitely recommend taking the extra effort to try Ocean Market. My friend said, the very next day, «I want Ocean Market again.» Me too, girl. Me too.

Feeding off previous Unilocal reviews, I made a special trip here on a day off from work and I’ll add to the five-star rating. Great spot. Greatest Grilled Cheese Ever — not sure if it is, but it’s in the top five. Smooth, tasty cheese in a panini. It lacks the traditional grilled butter thing you normally associate with grilled cheese sandwiches, but this is better. Chips — very nice. JJ mentioned them being salty. Mine were not so much, but that again is a good thing. The pickle spear was definitely salty, and good. They have a decent drink options, especially if you’re into specialty root or ginger beers and such. I am, so I snagged a Berghoff root beer. I’m not often powering up or down Peachtree looking for lunch, but if you are, try Ocean Market Downtown. Parking can be an adventure in this part of town. I just parked on the street a couple of blocks away on the other side of Courtland(no meter) but I can see some people might not want to do that.

When I’m gallivanting around Downtown or parts of Midtown and I find myself experiencing hunger pangs or even the hankering for a small meal, Ocean Market has become almost impossible to resist. If you’re powering up or down Peachtree past Emory Hospital, you may miss this adorable bistro, but take a look next time you’re stopped in traffic. It’s the cute spot with the awning, double doors, and fantastic smells. The menu is wonderful – Should you find yourself in the mood for the sandwich, check out the Greatest Grilled Cheese Ever, the Banh Mi, the Salmon Club, or pretty much everything. Every sammich I’ve ever had has been wonderful. Several are panini style, too. Should you be a fan of side items, buckle up for amazing soups. I’ve had a few gazpachos, tomato bisque, mushroom, and perhaps a few others. Again, all are just fantastic. Should you be in the market(pun intended) for a good pickle, just prepare for one of the best pickles of your life. I’ve seen people who don’t love pickles bite into one of their pickles and have their life turned upside down. The flavors of the pickles are just unreal. Such a perfect balance of tart, sweet, sour, herby, garlicky — all with perfect texture. Seriously some of my favorite pickles in the world. You can buy them by the jar, too. One other item you can’t afford to miss? Chips. So simple, but perfectly executed. They make them fresh and they kick soooooo much ass. Perfect crunch, none of them are stuck together like you see sometimes, and have a perfect level of saltiness. They mix well with everything. I’ll even throw a few into my soup if I’m feeling squirrelly. Just delicious. Salads are wonderful as well(Sensing a pattern yet?) — I love the Tuna Nicozy, East Snobb(Cobb Salad), and the Crispy Asian Beef. Can’t choose a favorite, but they’ve all been fantastic. There are tons of beverage selections as well. Tons of bottled drinks in the cooler and a great lemon-y water or tea of which you can serve yourself. Other items we’ve had — several varieties of crepes, coconut cake, and noodle dishes. Dear LORD I love Ocean Market. If lunch is what you’re after, pop in and give these guys a visit. You’ll be blown away.

So much yes! I was introduced to Ocean Market during a Unilocal Elite event, and I have been back A NUNBER of times. Like, more than I can count. It has become our go-to lunch spot among my friends and coworkers. We always tend to order more than we can eat, but we know it’s all so good and usually can’t resist. the staff are so friendly and helpful. And if you want to bring your dog, there’s some seating out front, so don’t fret, although table space outside is a bit lacking, so you may need to take your bowls, plates off the tray or do some rearranging if you are with a large group. There is a giant sit-down table inside that is perfect for large groups or if you want to meet some new folks. Also, crepes. So many crepes. Savory crepes, sweet crepes. Crepes to go. All the options. And if you like cheese, they have a grilled cheese with so much cheese. Eat it!

A friend of mine brought me here after talking about how good and unique their menu was, so I was excited to try something new. I can with ease that it was a fantastic food exploration, and I’d love to see a place like this truly flourish, succeed and expand. Firstly, the location is right near the edge that separates Downtown from Midtown. If there’s anywhere to park for free in the remote area anymore, I don’t have the slightest clue since Park Atlanta seems to have put numbered spots and meters on just about every inch of pavement in the city now, so needless to say, if you see parking right out front on Peachtree St, might as well go and take it, because you’ll be paying to park anywhere else. Entering their business, it’s clean and modern, and kind of like an oasis of class and care, compared to the litany of run down buildings surrounding the area. The seating is pretty much all communal seating, and there’s not a tremendous amount of it, so if you go on a peak time, you might be sitting next to complete strangers. Anyway, everyone who worked there was as polite and inviting as can be. Even if the food weren’t that great, I’m often inclined to want to return to support businesses run by people who are good to their customers, and Ocean Market left a glowing impression on me with how they treat people. Fortunately, on top of the friendly welcoming atmosphere, the food was pretty excellent. Unique was a good description, because their menu was a litany of non-tacos, non-TexMex, and non-burgers that pretty much saturate the rest of the city’s dining options. Crepes, being the most notable of unique options, because I can probably count on one hand where else crepes(of quality) could actually be found that I’m aware of. But from a place with«Ocean» in the name, it put me in the mood for something seafood-y, and when I saw a smoked salmon club sandwich listed, I had to have it. A sandwich with a side salad(I’m trying to watch my girlish figure, otherwise, I’d have gone with chips), for just about $ 10. No complaints with price, either. And when the sandwich arrived, everything about it was perfect. The bread was crispy without sandpapering your gums, and every bite was a great variety of flavors, but deftly not overpowering the taste of the salmon itself. Seriously, the club had bacon in it, as any club sandwich really should, but even the bacon _worked_with the flavor of the salmon, instead of overpowering it outright. AND it was a very generous portion. The salad was of a mixed greens variety, and was tossed well, as to get a little bit of tangy vinaigrette dressing on every bit of it. A hair too much red onion for my preference, but it was still a fantastic side dish. But overall, Ocean Market is a five-star in my opinion, as easy as they come. The food was excellent, the service was warm, welcoming and friendly, and I always want people who take good care of customers to succeed. If I still worked in the SunTrust building, this place would easily be a walking distance go-to kind of place, but it’s going to have to be an occasional treat kind of place instead. However, they do deliver, to those who might work within reasonable distance to them, although I’m not sure of what the criteria is. Anyway, five stars, would come back again, easily.

I love this quaint little café that also is also a catering business. I was fortunated enough to have been invited by the Elite event to have sampled their morsels. I love the space that the café is in. The ceiling to floor windows that allows you to peer out to the ongoings of the hustle and bustle of downtown Atlanta with a view of the Emory Hospital. Handwritten chalkboard with colorful writing lines about the deli, showing the all the goodies that they offer. The deli reminds me of the vintage counters from movies and quite homey. Their glass counter encase of their delicious sweets that made my mouth water. What I really enjoy is the Asian beef salad with a well marinated beef and fresh greens with this sesame dressing. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. The only downside are the times. I wish they were open on the weekends… even for a few hours.
