New York Prime has two dishes on the Atlanta Convention and Visitor’s Bureau Signature 100 list: The 14 oz filet and the banana cream pie. They no longer have a 14 oz, so I got the 12 oz. It was literally the best steak I’ve ever had. Got it medium rare. I might have seen jesus with every bite. The banana cream pie was also delicious, but can you really go wrong with that? The only reason I am four starring this place over five starring is that it’s so damn smoky! I felt like I was eating in a cigar lounge or something.

Enjoyed dinner last night with a few friends and everything was phenomenal! The only down side is that you can smoke at the bar, but ventilation was working well and this did not disrupt our dinner. Service was spectacular and drinks were constantly being refilled. I had the center cut petite filet with cheesy mashed potatoes and asparagus with hollandaise sauce. My steak was cooked to perfection and the cheesy mashed potatoes are a must have.

Awesome place, food, and customer service. My friends and I had a craving for stone crab, went to another higher end restaurant and got duped into thinking they had some only to find out they didn’t AFTER we got appetizers and drinks. So we just left and got to Prime 10 minutes before closing. They took care of us, had the best table ready, got us the largest claws, and never rushed us in or out. The only downside is that smoking is allowed at the bar area but it was worth it. Thank you for saving our night!

This was our second time there, and while we had a couple of issues, personally, I really like this restaurant. On the positive side, the caesar salad was very good. The basket of bread was excellent. My bone-in ribeye was cooked perfectly, Pittsburg medium-rare, and outstanding. My wife’s salmon was as good as it gets. Loaded baked potato was huge and delicious, and the side of corn was flavorful. Our service was impeccable. Great wine selection, and my liquor drinks were stiff. On the negative side, I ordered the shrimp remoulade appetizer. This was described as 4 «Colossal» shrimp. What I got, for $ 18, were 4 shrimp that, without exaggeration, were about the same size, maybe smaller, as the ones we buy cooked and frozen at Costco, described as «Large». They were literally bite-size, and not big bites. No-how, no-way were they«Colossal». Given the price, this was a major disappointment. If for whatever reason they had been unable to procure colossal size shrimp, the least they could have done is serve more than 4. The other negative, and this is the biggy, was the stench. The cigar smoke was overwhelming, and thank goodness we were seated about as far away from the smoking section(bar area) as you can get. Still, it was so bad that my wife said she’ll never go back. First time we ate there it was late August, middle of the week, and very few people there. The cigar smoke wasn’t an issue. This time, holiday season, the place was packed, and the smoke was thick. I’m not sure why they don’t build a wall between the bar and dining area, or at least install a high volume exhaust system in the bar area, but that’s not my business. However, until something is done, I won’t be back, at least not with my wife, and that’s unfortunate, because, again, I really like this restaurant.

Went for anniversary dinner last night with my boyfriend and it was quite the experience… it is really hard to find if you’re unfamiliar with the area so it was quite the adventure walking in the rain. But i didnt too much mind that part… The customer service is impeccable and our server(Jamal, I believe was his name) was amazing! He explained the menu very well… the food was amazing. We split a 12 oz. filet, 4 lb. lobster, mushrooms and asparagus with hollandaise sauce… it was all cooked to perfection and definitely lived up to the reputation i had heard from other people. My only complaint is really my own fault for not asking, but i had no clue that a 4 lb. lobster cost $ 116 and that information was never relayed until the bill came. But overall, a very romantic place for an anniversary dinner!

Had my 13 year anniversary here. The service was great. They cook in front of you and they make sure to come to your table and speak with you. They gave us a free desert with a candle on it to celebrate with us. Great place will come back

Went for a business dinner. We were a large group in a private room. First, the service was superb… drinks before dinner… ordering from a pre-selected menu. When our server, Kellie Ken ser, came to me I noticed the selection of vegetables were all creamed or cheesy. I’m on a restricted diet and could not have either. I asked if any steamed vegetablea were selected by our host and she said no. So I said I would be happy with just the entrée. When dinner arrived, Kellie had taken it upon herself to arrange for me to have steamed asparagus. I was very impressed. Excellent attention to her customer’s desire. Although the food was excellent and would have received 4 stars, Kellie’s sevice and attitude pushed my review to 5+.

Had a 7:30 reservation made through open table– manager literally asked to see my email as he couldn’t find my reservation– then said maybe he could get us a table in the smoking section. Needless to say, we left. Service was awful, won’t be giving them a second chance. Went to Davios across the street– good service, great wine list and good food. Try them instead…

Good dining room setting, good food and good service. The restaurant, however, is thick with cigar smoke from the bar. Aging college frat boys puffing cigars and shouting at each other make up the entire bar scene. Ruined the experience for us. Sent all our clothes to the Dry Cleaners and we’re praying all that smoke smell comes out. Will not be back.

Pretty good. Not at all worth the expense or the trouble getting there. If you smoke, this is a great place for you as it is one of the very few nice bars where you can.

Can’t falter the meal at all. It’s what you expect from a classic NY steakhouse. There are 4 attendants to the table. Steak– porterhouse for two-$ 96. Great quality meat. Sides family style. Split ceaser salad– enough for two. Very anchovy flavor with extra Parmesan and anchovy on the side. Southwestern creamed corn was delicious– spicy and smoky– but could have gone without the cheese. Loaded1 pound potatoes dressed at table by server, Jimmy. While dining by saw a big red=15 pound lobster available for purchase– only In restaurant for last 48 hours. They go through a lot of «big reds» a week. We couldn’t make it through dessert but got complimentary big chocolate chip cookie and ice cream for DH birthday. Found a new place in our rotation of visits buckhead. Easy with open table– no troubles on a Saturday night. Can walk to from hotel. Another plus. Only drawback is entrance through smoky cigar bar. Could smell throughout dinner and had little problem with asthma, but in back room was ok. They should consider alternate entrance. All in all 4.85 in stars!!!

Best steak and chopped salad! Wonderful place. The pulled crabmeat and shrimp are two appetizers that I could add a chopped salad to(separately) and have as a meal any day. It is a perfect romantic date. Bobby is great, the staff is Excellent, the music is great.

First off I haven’t been here in a year, It was so refreshing to have a warm welcome when I returned for my dinner. I was greeted quickly and in a timely manner by Jennifer, She was very professional and her suggestions were amazing!!! My partner and I were very impressed. As always the food was right on par, I will be returning very soon and only asking for my new favorite server Jennifer!

Food: I was there with a colleague and both got steaks. I got the 12 oz filet and he got the 16 oz ny strip. Both were cooked to our liking. Worth noting that their medium is a bit more rare than some, but they explained that before I ordered and it worked out well. Side were cheesy potatoes which are really cheesy. Onion rings were good and the sauce they served them with fit. Kind of like a steak sauce. Garlic spinach was awesome. Beer selection was a little light. I ordered an IPA which was on the menu, but they said they were all sold out. Come on now… Service: what you would expect from a place that has a $ 59 steak on the menu, good knowledgable and clean looking. Also, my buddy ordered a full order of onion rings and they suggested we get the half order which was plenty. I appreciated that. Atmosphere: right down the fairway for the most part. Dark wood all around, but they had some guy singing. That was fine. Not too loud so he wasn’t annoying. Folks were smoking up front at the bar, but it didn’t seem to get smoke over by our seats. Misc: it was very good, but you get what you pay for I guess. About $ 250 and we didn’t crack the wine list. That’s a lot for me.

The best steakhouse in Atlanta. I have been to this restaurant multiple times, and they have never disappoint. Knowledgeable waiter who also provide excellent service. My starter drink, gin martini has been always perfectly made. Needless to say that they have great wine selection also. I truely enjoyed their Fillet, combination of a perfectly charred outside with a luscious rare-red inside.

I enjoy eating at nice steak restaurants, so I wanted to check this place out. My date and I went there this week for dinner and I was not impressed… I ordered the filet cooked medium(as did my date) and overall it was good although some pieces were basically raw. I was disappointed that they didn’t have truffle oil in house because truffle mashed are my favorite, but got the cheesy mashed instead. They were NOT good. They tasted like they had several slices of american cheese melted over them. We also had a side of the fettuccine alfredo, which was VERY good. I definitely recommend that. The service was not as good as I was expecting for being so pricey. I went without a drink for a good 20 minutes before I had to ask another server to bring me one. Even if I’m not enjoying my meal, if you keep my drink full I’ll be happy. We ordered the cheesecake for dessert and it was good, but not great. I would describe this restaurant the same– good not great. Mainly because for the price I expect amazing food and impeccable service. Also, people smoke cigars at the bar, so when you walk to the bathroom you walk through it.

Pricey, clubby, dark steakhouse with an active bar. Very good meal. BF’s steak was cooked perfectly. All sides were excellent, especially fettucine alfredo, and portions are huge. Giant shrimp in the shrimp cocktail were a little tough. Definitely an old-school feel. Our server was friendly, kind and proficient. White tablecloths, and servers wheeling even one little appetizer plate to your table on a rolling cart. Live music with a mix of mostly older easy listening tunes, at least on the weekends. Valet only. But I’m being generous with the three stars because of one giant issue. The smoke. Tons and tons of smoke. Georgia law doesn’t permit smoking in restaurants unless there’s a separate area or ventilation system. This bar area is not separate, and the ventilation system is clearly all but useless. Despite sitting several tables away, the smoke was very noticeable, and we ended up infused with it… clothes, hair, even my handbag reeked when we left. It was so bad we had to shower and change clothes as soon as we got home. We’re not normally that fussy at all. I haven’t come home smelling like that since some memorable nightclub visits way too many years ago. So I guess it was kinda nostalgic, now that I think about it… but those nights didn’t involve $ 200 dinners. If you’re a smoker, this is your place. Or maybe if you can sit very, very far in the back. But we won’t be returning.

So what can one say about a restaurant that continually delivers great food, albeit at high prices, I say, I’ll go there again and again and again and again, etc etc!!! The food is great and you wont be disappointed. We orderd a lobster(see the picture I put on Unilocal) and it was yummilicious. They actually take the meat ouit of the shell and dry it off and then place it on your plate. I loved that! The steaks are awesome. The baked shrimp appetizer was delicious. The Chilean Sea Bass was so tender it melted in my mouth. The Porterhouse is out of this world. All in all, I LOVETHISPLACE One major drawback, they allow smoking at the bar. Personally I don’t care about the smoking at the bar, however, the ventilation system is either inoperative or they dont have one that will pull out the smoke. This is important to note because you can smell the smoke throughout the restaurant. If you are a smoker you will love this place. If you are a nonsmoker and you sit in the back rooms you will be okay. Also, I have to say I have seen some very hot women at the bar, for those of you that are interested.

WOW… what a great steak. We went to this steak house when we were in Atlanta. Neither of us have ever had a pittsburgh style steak and it was excellent. The pittsburgh style steak has a char on it. we both asked for it with a lite char and it was delicious. Both of our steaks were served on a sizzling plate, similar to Ruths Chris. My steak was one of the best I’ve had EVER. Id go back to Atlanta just to eat at this place. Oh yes, the lobster cocktail was very good and so were the oysters… but the steak was perfect. This steak house reminded us of Smith and Wollenskys. Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. Our server was very nice and informative. She recommended a few dishes which were very good. This was a great dining experience.
