Excellent food and even better service. Friendly staff serving up a wonderful lunch. I had the chicken and rice special with fried cauliflower and greens. The chocolate pecan pie was tasty as well. Best food in Hapeville.

I’ve driven past this place a million times and decided to stop today. The food was good but the establishment had a weird vibe to me. I don’t know how to describe it other than«slaveish». I still can’t put my finger on why but that’s the vibe I got. None the less, I ordered a vegetable plate that included turnip greens, mac n cheese and apple cobbler w/a side of homemade onion rings. Let me start by saying the cobbler was to die for. It was the best thing I ordered. And the 1 scoop of ice cream that came with it made it that much better. I looked up the menu online before arriving and saw that the cobbler came with 2 scoops. The man taking my order was a little«not friendly» and tried to refer me to the online menu as I placed my order. He was being a smarty pants but when he only gave me 1 scoop of ice cream, I referred to that same online menu and he told me it was an old menu and they needed to update it. The onion rings looked delicious and even tasted good but I could feel the grease separating from the other liquid in my tummy. I could only eat 2 of the 5. The greens and mac n cheese were great! Will I go back? Probably. If you’re looking for some home cooked food this is your place. I gave 3 stars b/c of the weird vibe I got and the man taking my order being a butt. Oh and this place is hella small.

Talk about fast. We sat. They took our order. Before we got comfortable, we were served. This is a meat and two place. The food is average for this type restaurant. Good enough. Ordered the cat fish(Friday). Nice and crispy. The place was packed by the time we left. I guess that means something. I would and am coming here again. Nothing special but do Recommend.

What a great find. Open for Breakfast and Lunch only. Daily specials. Fresh southern prepared vegies and bread. Leave room for the hommade deserts.

Lunch on Main! Tell people you’re going there for lunch and they’ll ask, «Where on Main?» It’s a sit down souther kitchen diner with great service. Converted from an old house, it features two big dining rooms with booths and tables. They have really good meats and sides: — Fried chicken(white meat) — comes with a chicken breast and a chicken wing, both of which have perfectly fried skin along with soft chicken on the inside. — Creamed Corn — I tried this the first time and it was creamy, but still maintained the corny texture. A friend tried some cobbler and he couldn’t stop raving about it. This is definitely a stop you’ll have to make if you’re in town for lunch. The best part is it’s not super busy.

I’ve only had the pleasure of visiting this place in e in my five years in EP. It is open while I am working in Buckhead. The food seemed decent and the staff was very friendly.

100% certified southern food. A nice small place, within walking distance of the college park MARTA station. Wife and I went and both got the fried chicken. It was some of the best I have had. It was almost off putting at first due to a paler complexion, but it turned out to be prefect. The breast was juicy and very flavorful, even far past the breading. Most fried chicken does not get this right. Breading was very crunchy. Had collards and cucumber salad as a side. Collards were excellent, not overly sweet or sour. Cucumber salad was just ok, nothing special. The wife had creamed corn, which she said was excellent, and roasted potatoes. The potatoes were kinda dry/crisp on the outside with a nice coating of seasoning, while moist and soft once you bite in. Cornbread was great too. This place was hitting it on all cylinders! Quality was top notch and everything was seasoned well, nothing bland line some meat and threes. Another gem in college park!

I have eaten here numerous times. We usually go for lunch but breakfast is a great option as well. Their meals are meat plus 3(2 sides and bread) All made there and very good. Southern style cooking. You should leave full. We have enjoyed the pork chops, gumbo, fried chicken.

«Where do you want for lunch?» «Let’s go to Lunch on Main St.» «Where’s that?» …(every time I tell a new person about this place, this is the conversation I have) You can go healthily here with a grilled chicken breast & veggies or salad… or you can go full on southern cooking with the fried chicken or chopped steak etc… While you are there, one thing is for sure, the dessert list on the wall will be staring at you the entire time. The staff is great… they will make room if you have a bigger group. Your drink will never get empty. And even when it’s busy your food will come lickety split. The specials of the day are the way to go!

What a great find! This place has limited hours and is only open for lunch, but the ‘Southern Cooking’ is excellent. There were 6 in my party, we all had something different and everyone walked away happy. Everything from fried chicken to meatloaf to chicken and dumplings or chicken salad. All the sides you would expect at a southern dining location and a good selection of deserts to boot. We will be adding this place to the office lunch rotation.

If you enjoy warm wholesome southern food, this is it! Love the specials. Get here early as the place gets packed in. The blackened lemon pepper pork chops are tender and seasoned to perfection — comes with sides, my favorite creamed corn and bread. I’m not into the corn bread, not moist enough for me but it’s still good. enjoy!

Lunch on Main boasts some of the best Southern food in the College Park area. Each day, the menu offers a different daily special. The daily special on Tuesday included Fried Chicken and a pot roast. The pot roast was very good, and the fried chicken was out of this world. The outside was battered with perfection, and the chicken itself was perfectly juicy. Wow! The sides were also strong. The macaroni and cheese, potato salad, and casserole were all delicious. Finally, I had homemade coconut cake for dessert, which was delicious and costed only 87 cents. The décor was very simple while retaining its Southern feel through various trinkets and old-time country posters. The dining tables and chairs themselves also had character. The servers were amicable, friendly, and attentive, staying true to the southern theme of the restaurant. The most interesting part was that all the items were priced so that after tax, you could expect your bill to come out to the dollar. This is currently one of my favorite lunch spots.

Yet another reason to return to College Park, Lunch On Main Street isn’t just an activity, it’s good, Southern dining, made fresh, by folks in the kitchen who know their craft. And apparently they do breakfast now, too. I had the fried chicken with some turnip greens and mac & cheese on the side. Totally hit the spot. And that fried chicken was done RIGHT. I was thinking about it for a couple of days after. Lunch on Main Street has a «regular» menu, but you really want to give your attention to the items posted on a whiteboard in the restaurant(and on their website). Those items change daily. And everything really is made fresh. Even the desserts.(BTW, the chocolate pie looks like a real winner.) I’ll look forward to my next visit there. Holler if you’re coming with…

The food is really good, decent portions and the staff is very attentive. The atmosphere could use some updating but they make up for it with good food.

I enjoy Lunch on Main– it’s kind of a meat n’ three spot meets home cooking. As a native southerner I would not classify this as southern food, though. So keep that in mind. I really enjoy their meatloaf and they have lovely mashed potatoes(they have bits of skin in them so if that bothers you maybe you should pass). They do a pineapple whip that is similar to watergate salad and very tasty! I believe the mac n’ cheese could be better but then, you really ought not do so much starch, right? My co-workers like the burgers there as well as the kraut dogs. Oh– and the cobbler is lovely!!! Last time I was there it was Peach– very well done, too!!! Yummy! Here’s a weird thing– they don’t have Tabasco Sauce on the table! They have Texas Pete! I personally believe that Tabasco is superior on meatloaf, however; Texas Pete does a great job with chicken. It may be that you have to ask for the Tabasco, though. Sadly, the drinks are served in styrofoam cups.

I just visited Lunch on Main Street for the first time and it’s a great no frills lunch time alternative. The building is an old cottage style house. The décor is old-timey country with lots of Coca Cola relics. You can walk right in and sit where you’d like… no wait even during their super busy lunch rush! You’ll notice many of the patrons seem to be regulars and there’s a friendly rapport with the employees. The standard menu has all the southern staples: fried chicken, bbq sandwich, greens, grits, etc. They offer daily lunch specials and there’s an extra menu on the wall with the off-menu items of the day. There were a few things on the menu that scared me like pineapple whip and cranberry surprise… hmm? I decided to go with the veggie plate and there was plenty to choose from! I had the beet salad, honey-glazed carrots, and fried cauliflower which came with a roll. The food was good and the portions were fair. I wasn’t a big fan of the cauliflower though. My lunch buddies had fried fish and fried chicken… they all said their choices were tasty. My only complaints were that the parking lot isn’t nearly large enough and that our service was sub-par(food took forever and the waitress wasn’t very apologetic or friendly). But, for a $ 6 lunch that doesn’t involve precooked food or a sub it’s totally worth it.

Lunch on Main is a typical«meat and three» located on Main Street in College Park, close to the MARTA station. Parking can be tricky when the lunch crowd fills up the place but with many stopping it to pick up a take-out order, a space usually opens fast. Be careful not to park in the church’s spaces next door or you might get towed, as the signs point out. I’ve been going to Lunch on Main for several years now. It’s a haven for folks who work at the airport and nearby Fort McPherson. The waitresses have been there for years and make everybody feel at home, even the newcomers. The décor is decidedly low key with some tired booths and much worn tables/chairs. But the food more than makes up for it. Delicious standards like fried chicken, roast beef, turkey/dressing and more are served up on different days of the week. There’s a constant slate of veggies with daily special entries, from collard greens to pineapple whip. Rolls and cornbread are freshly made and tasty. The iced tea also passes the happiness test. You can wrap things up with desserts like the cobbler of the day, pecan pie, brownie a la mode and other Southern sweets. It varies from day to day so it’s always a surprise. Is it the best meat and three around? Probably not. But is it pretty darned good? Yep!
