It is in you and your hair’s best interest not to go here for any sort of treatment that involves a chemical.
I really wanted to change up my dark hair, so I saw Sarah about highlights. She gave me 3 rounds of bleach and left me under a heat lamp for 2 hours. From my research online and talking to my hairdresser back home, this was the worst idea ever. Two days after, my hair started falling out.
The length went from the tip of my underarm to my collarbone. It had to be cut off because of everything was dead. My hair continues to fall out daily, and it has been a month since this incident. I’ve never had this problem until I got my hair bleached… or should I say professionally damaged.
The only offer I got was to dye it back dark. I did not get a refund, haircut, or conditioning treatment. And in all honesty, does anyone ever go back to someone who massacred their hair? I have spent a lot of money in the past month on products to fix my hair as well as a new haircut.

I continue to see Julie every 2 months or so. She is such a great collaborator and she does amazing things with my hair. For a while I’ve gone with tight sides and a swoopy mohawk. My style holds up between cuts, even when I wait a bit too long between appointments.
Julie has also gotten into oils, and she does an amazing temple massage with essential oils. It’s such a nice, relaxing addition to the typical hair washing.

Laura was the only person to cut my hair while I lived in Atlanta and I wish I could have taken her when I moved. She is very personable and will make you enjoy getting your haircut regularly. In addition, she gives great advice on ways to mix up your normal haircut without getting to crazy. I would gladly recommend her to anyone looking for a quality cut from a fantastic person.

I have had Laura cutting mine and my husband’s hair for almost 6 years! She is amazing especially on my husband’s hair which he has had some AWFUL cuts in the past by others, I love seeing him come home from her studio. She is an absolute blast during appointments and always has great advice on style, product, and treatment for your hair. Very knowledgeable, professional and courteous I would send anyone over to see her. You won’t be disappointed!

I just moved here from Nashville and was trying to locate an awesome stylist. I went to a few salons and they were mediocre. After a friend suggested I come here, I met Laura. She had been cutting my friends hair for years and I’m glad I found her.
Laura cut the best haircut I’ve ever had. The salon was a modern chic and very welcoming.
The location kind of sucks but once you find it, you will be back.

Dawn at Liberty is the best in the business. I have fine blonde hair and she always manages to cut it perfectly to give it body and life. Hard to do when you have naturally light, limp hair! Looking for someone to really rock your locks? Then Dawn at Liberty Hair Studio is the way to go. Every time she does my hair it is the best cut and color ever, how does she keep topping the previous do? All the while making you feel like a rock star, and sorts like I’m having my hair done by a rock star! Great location, great edgy atmosphere, fantastic personalities.

Julie is the best and most amazing hair stylist in Atlanta. Not only does she listen to exactly what you want, she delivers. I have really curly hair so I’m pretty picky. She is also super creative and great with suggestions if you’re not really sure what you want. I even let her give my 2 year old his first haircut. We got tons of compliments on my little man’s haircut. Super sweet and easy to talk to is a bonus. If you’re looking for someone new, she’s your girl!

Owner and stylist Ginger Darnell has been my hair stylist for 19 years because she is a pro. She «gets» my wavy hair, my whims for color («It’s summer, let’s go lighter!» It’s fall, let’s do low-​lights.”), my desire to keep it long, while cutting it every 6 weeks, and she always has great product on hand. Plus Ginger is great to talk to — I have laughed and cried in that chair over the years. I enjoy taking a little time to pamper myself in the lovely Liberty Hair Studio salon.

I haven’t been to a more relaxed, friendly atmosphere!
I was most pleasantly surprised I was able to bring my small dog with me!
I had a hair appointment with AJ on the same day I was returning to town with my sweet doggie in tow. I was so stressed about missing my appointment if I had to take her home first, but was re-​assured I could bring her in (if she is friendly and well behaved, of course!). I was able to have my hair done, stress free!
I can not say enough about how fabulous AJ is, also!
I have very difficult hair to color & cut, but AJ had no hesitation and mastered it!

I reviewed AJ after I met him while he was still let the FRESCHE salon in Decatur and I mentioned that my haircut has never been better and my color also lasts longer than it ever has because he has advised me to used to use proper shampoo with a pigment in it.

I cannot express to you the happiness I feel when I go see David at Liberty. He is new to the salon but has been styling my hair for half my life (& I’m only 34)! Since I have known him, I have moved to 5 different states but always missed him. So, sometimes I would schedule a trip home (Atlanta) just to get my hair cut! David, you are awesome, not just as a stylist, but as a friend & father. I enter there feeling like an ugly duckling but emerge feeling swan-​like. Thanks David J!!!

I have been getting my hair cut by Ginger (owner of Liberty) for the past 15 years. I have extremely curly hair and she knows how to cut it the right way. The new salon is beautiful and open so the stylist are spread out. The staff is friendly and professional. I hardly ever come in with something in mind. I just let Ginger do her thing and be the artist she is and I am always happy!

First of all, I can’t say enough good things about our stylist, Julie Lanford Goedekke! She now cuts both of my kids’ hair (and has since they were each 2) as well as my husband’s hair and mine!
With the kids, she always gives them a stylish cut (they always get positive comments), and the key is that she does it in just a few minutes! While I highly recommend her as an «adult» stylist, she does wonders for my kids’ hair and many of their friends!
For my hair and my husband’s, Julie always does a remarkable job at an unbeatable price! Like I said, I can’t say enough great things about her!
AND…I cannot forget to mention Liberty Hair Salon! It is a huge and beautiful loft-​like space! Go there!
