Great food and service. Cocktails were eh okay… Nothing special. Made sure my tree but allergy wouldn’t be a problem. Definitely try the bbq pizza and curry chicken spring rolls. Thanks for the phenomenal service. Will be back soon.

You can find Kaleidoscope Bistro & Pub at 1410 Dresden Drive Suite 100, Brookhaven, GA30319 in the heart of the newish community concept on Dresden. This is the corner building about a block west of the row that houses the very good Haven and Valenza. Parking is free on the streets that surround the buildings or you can opt for one of the lots or nearby valet. The exterior looks more like a municipal building or a bank than a restaurant, with white block columns extending from a red brick façade. I’ve been wanting to hit Kaleidoscope for some time and had the opportunity one late Sunday afternoon while out-and-about. It seemed like a good time to soak in the bar and maybe get a bite to eat — I was also interested in the beer selection. I was able to find a stool right at the bar — there were already quite a few waiting to be seated for an early dinner. The interior has contemporary fixtures and an open kitchen at one end — the bar is a dominant feature lining the wall to the right. Besides a rather extensive liquor collection there’s also a bunch of sporting bobble-heads across the top shelf — a bit of kitsch for this neighborhood pub. I love draft beer and focused on the Creature Comforts Koko Buni Milk Porter with Coconu — of course they were out. The Westbrook 5th Anniversary Raspberry Chocolate Imperial Stout was recommended and while I loved the flavor on the first couple of pulls, the aftertaste got the better of me about halfway down the glass. I think those flavors are only good in small amounts, at least for me. For food I looked to the Specials menu and chose a Tomato Tortilla soup with Avocado and queso fresco — it was good but I should have gotten the bowl — the cup is indeed a tease. I backed this up with the Award Winning Kaleidoscope Burger — pimento cheese, slaw, green tomato chow chow, bread and butter pickles as a double and it was quite delicious. I recommend this one highly. The fires were hand-cut style skin on and very hot. I also finished things up with a Brouwerij Huyghe Delirium Tremens Belgian Strong Pale Ale that was extremely good and gave me quite the buzz. The bartenders were fairly attentive, preferring to dote over all the honeys gathered in groups around the bar — this looks like a great place to hang and meet people — of course I’m 20 years too late for that but you get the drift. Good vibes and lots of people drinking and having a good time. The food was exceptional and the craft draft selection way above average. I’m expecting to come again. (also posted to my food blog)

Fine place for drinks /dinner /lunch in Brookhaven. Overall, pretty average but prices are good, there’s generally a crowd, and food is decent. Recommend the burger or the steak salad.

Nothing was wrong with our experience, everything was just«meh». Not bad, but definitely not good. Everything was bland and didn’t have much flavor. Our server was nice but the hostesses were less than pleasant when we asked to move tables due to it being directly in the sunlight. Probably will not be back. Not impressed.

I’m so glad I finally got this place for brunch! The hour wait almost discouraged me but the host told us to start on the BOTTOMLESSMIMOSAS while we waited #winning! And when they do bottomless mimosas, they do them right! Literally at one point, EVERY server had a pitcher walking around refilling everyone’s glasses. I never got to finish one before it was already being refilled, and not just by our primary server. I actually want to cry right now because I really felt like they cared about making sure I had the booziest of Sunday boozy brunches ever. Like I feel like I should them a thank you card or something… But you’re probably wondering why only 4 stars. The food was good, but not great. We started with the poutine dish. I always thought poutine was a little lighter in color from the curds and gravy, but the dish we had looked and tasted just like regular cheese fries. I don’t even recall seeing any actual curds or gravy, just melted cheese, bacon and scallions. It was my friend’s first time trying it and I had hyped them up to be something different than we actually received but he wasn’t impressed *shrugs*. For my main dish, I had the shrimp and grits — shrimp was tasty, but the grits didn’t really compliment the dish well. Unfortunately I can’t really communicate what I mean by that, but they just needed some extra flavor. My friend had the country fried chicken, which he said was pretty good. My other friend had the wings, which he also said were good. I’m definitely planning on coming back, however I would make sure to get there closer to opening time because the place was PACKED. Like I said, our wait was an hour for the patio. And they have a hard stop at 3 for the bottomless mimosas — fellow boozers will appreciate that little tidbit.

I wish I could give different reviews for this place for different meals. For dinner, I would give it a solid 3 stars. The menu items can be hit or miss depending on what you order. All in all, the prices seem a bit high for what you get for dinner. For lunch, I would give it 4 stars. It has a nice selection of salads and sandwiches, and it seems to have something for everyone on the lunch menu. It’s also really reasonably priced. For a happy hour, I would give it a 4.5 star rating. They have good shareable appetizers, a wide selection of drinks, and good indoor and outdoor options for group seating. For breakfast, I would give them a 3 star rating. I love their brunch menu and mimosas, but I wish they opened earlier on the weekends. As you can tell based on the different meals I have had there, I think it’s a solid neighborhood restaurant and end up there by default quite a bit. It’s definitely worth enjoying the patio or long communal indoor tables for a happy hour with friends.

This was the best experience ever! The last review I wrote on BQE Restaurant and lounge is what pushed us here. A more friendly, comfortable atmosphere here and much more welcoming by their host/staff. I called at 11:30 and made 12 noon reservations for brunch on the patio. We arrived early, but unfortunately they will not open the doors until exactly 12. No biggie. As soon as they open the door all of a sudden there were 50 other people. No biggie it took us about five minutes to get through the line to the host where we were immediately seated on the patio in the perfect weather. Waitress was extremely fast and attentive. We ordered bottomless mimosas, case so and chips, and a couple cups of coffee to start. Between the coffee and the mimosas, I couldn’t really tell how many cups I drank because she always topped off my glass and I never had it though empty. Chips and queso were really delicious too. My friend and I are both vegetarians, so we ordered the grilled cheese and egg sandwich without the bacon. A lot of restaurants refused to change a part of their menu, but she accommodated us and said that taking off the bacon was not a problem at all. My boyfriend ordered the pigs in a blanket sandwich and my friends husband order the sausage biscuit.(Think that’s what they had, lol) Everything was really good, and then it all got fuzzy because my Mimosa glass was constantly being filled, lol. Overall this was a great experience and I definitely will come back for brunch, probably next week. The reason I gave 4 stars is because of the overall price. Four of us, bottomless mimosas only for three of us, a couple sandwiches and an appetizer; Way over hundred dollars, and it didn’t even include gratuity. Not going to complain at all, but this is why I gave my 4 stars. Like I said, I’ll definitely go back so that’s not the issue, and there’s no issue at all. Just making a statement.

Came here for a late lunch on Friday. Parking was fine for the upper deck but everywhere else was taken. Nice patio and the inside looked nice as well but we are on the patio. Service was excellent. Super friendly staff. It is leisurely and relaxed but if you aren’t in a hurry, it is great. Had the calamari and grilled pimento sandwich. The Calamari was great! Lots of flavor and crispy. The sandwich was also good. Great grilled cheese.

Kaleidoscope has steadily climbed up our list of favorite places in Brookhaven. It is consistently very good in terms of food quality and can always be counted on for a fun, relaxing atmosphere whether you’re eating inside or on the patio. Some of our favorite food items are: Pork Schnitzel — This dish is REALLY great. Lightly breaded, well cooked, HUGE portion, nice accompanying salad, sun dried tomatoes and little feta… Really enjoy this dish here… Kaleidoscope Burger — It’s a great burger, very flavorful, dripping with pimento cheese, slaw and you have to get the double for meat heaven… Smoked pork and pimento spring rolls — awesome little rolls. I could eat a dozen of these, the sauce that comes with them is great as well… Ton of meat, a little gooey cheese, just a perfect roll! As I mentioned the atmosphere is always fun. Sitting on the patio on a sunny day is a treat in and of itself… Good beer selection. One of the better hang out spots in Brookhaven…

I only come here for happy hour w/my co workers. Parking can be really good or really bad. If it’s lunch/dinner time, GL finding a spot before 10 mins hits. I always have a rough time…:/ Space & Service — Definitely a ton of space. Every time I’ve been here, it’s a full house. But luckily, my co workers manage to round up a few tables/seats beforehand. They also have a bar area! Service has always been great for me. No complaints. My water has always been filled, servers always swing by, and food comes out a good pace. Food: Calamari is great here. Somehow, Kaleidoscope has managed to make this item taste delicious. I’ve had it probably 3−4x. Consistently good. Nom. Duck Fries — Wooweee. These were really good. Worth ordering. I felt super fat after eating a bunch of them, but hey — I ran it off later. Something about the sauce that’s added,… nom. I would order these as an app for sure. Chicken Wings — meh. Avoid. Had a few and I felt like they were from an old bar. I personally think Zaxbys/Jacks Wings are better. The chicken Kaleidoscope uses is not very good. I think they were extremely frozen beforehand. I forgot which pizza we had… It had proscuitto(sp?). It was good. I wouldn’t mind ordering this again. But, it was really greasy. I kind of got sick afterwards :(But that’s just my stomach. When I ate a slice, I could taste everything. The ingredients added were a great combo.

This place never disappoints! One of my favorite hangouts in Brookhaven. Easy to find and park, with plenty of free street parking. Great for lunch, dinner or catching a game at the bar. Delicious food, the calamari is one my favorites for starters and they have a wide variety of liquor and beer at the bar.

My rating is pretty much based on the burger. The Kaleidoscope burger is really yummy and inexpensive, and the fries are pretty good. The beer list is great, and the valet is complimentary. I’d recommend this place for groups– they’ve got plenty of space and take reservations. Just be aware that it gets crowded during big games and you might end up by the super-drafty side door.

Meh, this neighborhood spot is mediocre at best. The service wasn’t bad & the drinks were okay, but the food was subpar. We had the calamari($ 10), the lemon sole($ 16) & chicken sandwich($ 7). The food left ALOT to be desired — I mean really. The calamari was almost inedible. Just yuck. The lemon sole was a joke a so heavily breaded & way too lemony — it overpowered the delicacy of the fish. The chicken sandwich bun seemed to swallow the piece of chicken between the buns. Most of us have fairly sophisticated palates, so just decide if you’re a dive, serving dive foods so we can adjust our expectations. I live in Brookhaven & this was only my 2nd time visiting — now I remember why! The 1st visit was just as disappointing & I was hoping they had improved. If I return, I’ll go for drinks & dine elsewhere. Decent bar scene. Nice hostess. That’s about it.

Kaleidoscope on a Sunday for brunch got packed really quick! Around 11:30am, it wasn’t too busy, but by noon it was full — must be that bottomless mimosa. I went with two girlfriends and the atmosphere was great. We shared the queso and dumplings for appetizers. I have to say the queso tasted great, but was a little too thin and runny for my liking. the dumpling was tasty, but a bit over priced for 4 dumplings(I am a bit spoiled by Asian restaurant prices though). I ordered the Kaleidoscope Burger, which was delicious! I pretty much inhaled it right when it got to the table. I would give the burger a 4⁄5 and the apps 2.5÷5. The waitress we had was great. She was energetic, fun, and attentive. The food came out kind of at a snails pace though. I suppose it was because it got so busy so fast. We ordered before the rush, but I feel like the lag between the apps and the entrees was a good long while — hence me inhaling the burger. Overall, a good experience and had a great time with friends. I would definitely go back to try other items on the menu.

We had a party of about 15 and although I liked this place, I didn’t love it. The service was pretty good, the manager made sure we were taken care of and the server was in tune to our needs(definetly kept the drinks coming!) Although he seemed a little agitated at first, probably as we were splitting the tab.(Which is annoying I know… but I don’t want to know your irritated if I’m paying you) Really was not a fan of the food. Calamari, egg rolls, fries… nothing stuck out. Got the pork snitzel as an entrée and it was so covered in lemon I was making a face while taking bites. Pretty awful, I should have returned it, but I had returned a drink(Moscow mule) that I didn’t like and really didn’t want to be a jerk. I would definetly try the brunch but I doubt I’d come back here for dinner. I think they have some good things on the menu and have a cool set up. I will come back again as I want to love this place.

My friends and I ventured here for drinks and light food on a Friday night. We arrived around 10pm and the place was packed. Luckily, we only had to wait about ten minutes for a table outside. We ordered a round of beers and the following appetizers for the table: –Wok Fried Maine Calamari: peppers, Chinese green beans, hot-n-sour sauce –Poutine: fries, Tillamook cheddar, cider bacon gravy, pepper bacon, scallions I’ve been here a couple of times before and have always thought the food is pretty good; tonight was no exception. I especially enjoyed the calamari with its beautiful presentation of the colorful peppers, and the delicious hot-n-sour sauce. The poutine was pretty typical and did nothing to wow me. On this particular night, the service seemed off. Our server made little effort to collect menus from our table, barely leaving us any room between the silverware, plates, and beers. We requested a set of silverware, which was never provided, multiple times. The staff seemed more concern with rolling out the food than actually providing attentive service. I think this was likely attributable to how busy they were at the time, but I hate seeing service decline just because the staff is unable to meet the demand. I’ll definitely return in the future, and I hope my experience that evening was just a fluke.

May my previous review rest in peace. I have now literally eaten off the menu at least once and can attest for great service and great food. The restaurant just underwent a large expansion, this adds space for not just additional bar seating but the next big thing coming, the addition of their new pizza oven! You’ll have to pop over their Facebook page to see the upcoming menu. Now for some recommendations, the Tuna tartare — a go to for me. Kind of a lump of ahi tuna mixed with avocado, but delicious. Enough you could eat alone for a light meal or share as an app. The fries the the duck fat bacon mayo, I’m sorry but did you read what I just wrote. BACON and DUCKFAT mayo drizzled over your fries. Look I get it, maybe the closest thing you can get to a heart attack. Get em on a cheat day. I still stand by my calamari opinion. Good but hit or miss on whether there is so much sauce is going to be soggy, it’s too heavy for me even though the sauce is delicious. Chicken wings are always a win for me. The smell and taste awesome and come out covered in blue cheese crumbles. I’d recommend any of the salads. Especially the hanger steak. Seafood? Ahi tuna — yes! I stand by my previous review to skip the mahi. The burger is also delicious as mentioned before, can speak for the steak frites as well. Last but not least DONTFORGET to look at the specials board. My favorite things come from here. Spring rolls, tacos etc. Great, if not one of the best beer selections in Brookhaven. Did I throw out how awesome and attentive the bartenders are? This is truly my watering hole in BH. Enjoy!

I googled bottomless mimosas in Atlanta and this showed up on one of the many lists of brunch joints. Parking is on the street or there is a limited shared parking lot. I found an empty street parking spot right next to the restaurant, which was very convenient! Sunday brunch is served until 3, so plan accordingly. We got here around 1:30, so we got a little nervous, as we were looking forward to bottomless mimosas that all of a sudden became limited to an hour and a half of drunken revelry. I can’t remember the exact price of the mimosas, I believe it’s $ 13. Obviously we had a little too much fun for a Sunday morning. I’d already eaten a little bit before coming to arm myself for heavy drinking, so I decided to just order a small appetizer of the House Pimento Cheese. It was only $ 4 so I shouldn’t have expected much. It was just a green apple slice atop a baguette chip and pimento cheese. It was pretty taste, the tart apple with the salty and spicy kick of the cheese. The presentation was less than a little spectacular though. I also munched on some other noms from my friends: Duck Fat Fries($ 5) — greasy delicious goodness, slightly soggy but that’s how I like my French fries anyway, drizzled with bacon mayo. I noticed these duck fat fries were becoming popular in the restaurant realm and was excited to try it. A must order. Baked Mac n cheese($ 5) — a side that went super well with the mimosas. Very simple and basic but addicting yummy. Ahi Tuna Tartare($ 12) — nice presentation, was more like guac than tuna, which is to be expected. Sometimes you couldn’t tell the difference between the tomatoes or the tuna. Our server CJ(I believe that was his name) was very aware of the status of our mimosas and made sure we were always topped off! Too kind :) A fun chill time for Sunday brunch. Check it out!
