I have been going to this spot almost 20 years I like the fast service they deliver. Yes the braiding is good. *hold your edges*. It a braid shop don’t expect them to be tinder loving when braiding your hair. It’s always two people working on your head which speeds up the process. Unless you’re getting something like goddess braids etc. KNOW what you want to get don’t expect them to guide you into a braiding style. This is a braid shop not a salon. There’s a bunch of knock off purses hanging around, they do have a TV to view, the staff is French speaking I guess from Nigeria, I’m always saying huh… when they ask me something. I went on a Friday late morning around 11:00 and was done by 2:00 with my box braids. Paid a total of 170 with tip. I gave it a three just because of the interior has been the same since I was 15 years old with the exception of mass knock off purses everywhere. Remodel would be good for this shop. That’s where I get my hair braided.

****name changed to TINA&KADIJAH’S AFRICANHAIRBRAIDING located behind Kraun Wings on the corner of Lee & Ralph D Abernathy.**** i came here for a takedown. i had large microbraids that woulda taken me all day to remove. 2 ladies removed them in about 30 min. they charged $ 40 for the takedown & $ 5 to shampoo & condition. i didn’t like that i had to stand at the shampoo bowl like I was washing my hair in the kitchen sink because they had no room for shampoo chairs in the back room. it’s okay for a braiding shop on the West End… certainly not the worst.

Customer service is not key here. Some of the braiders are nice and the others, not so much. Mary and Gaye are super nice and they listen to what you want. I complained about the quality of one of the braiders’ work and she got upset with me after I tipped her $ 10 despite the fact that she coughed on me the entire time she braided my hair. On that day, I asked her if she was sick and told her that I could not get sick bc I was going out of town. Her response was«I’m not sick, I just have a cold. Everybody has cold» and she continued coughing. Needless to say, I came down with a cold two days later and was sick throughout my entire trip.
