J Christopher’s used to have great service. WHATHAPPENED!!! I sat there for 10 min and nobody took my order. Then it took 15 min to get chicken salad that had been pre prepared. Then I received the wrong check with no apology. Well I guess they won’t be in business much longer. What a shame!!!

Not what I was hoping for, ordered eggs over medium came out over hard. Grits were bland and lumpy. The highlight was the blueberry crunch pancakes. Slow and non attentive service. Table next to us(Jewish) family ordered turkey bacon but received regular(pork) bacon.

Food is always pretty good here. The service wasn’t awesome but she was new so it was ok. All and all a good breakfast joint.

I meet friends at least 7 times a year for brunch here. It’s clean and sunny, I have never had to wait forever for a table, the food’s good and the service was always friendly and attentive. We keep coming back because we know what to expect every time, and I am a sucker for their giant cappucinos. It’s not my hands-down favorite Atlanta brunch place. It’s like your regular booty-call; you keep coming back for the fulfillment of need and the comforting familiarity. I have never had a bad experience with J Chris and I’ll definitely keep coming back. This lifeboat brunch joint always has my loyalty.

Lately it hasn’t been too crowded. Nice to go somewhere for Sunday brunch without a wait. The food is good. The service is good. It is family friendly and decent for a large group(up to 10). This is an old standby for me and my family that I will visit again and again. Its nice to go somewhere you can trust that you will enjoy your experience.

Nuts and bolts: This location is in my neighborhood so a good last-minute brunch option for me. Took my boyfriend there one morning. My order: Plain pancakes. Boyfriend tried the ham and mushroom skillet. Pros: They do have parking. The have a second-level patio which is great for those of us that like to dine outdoors. Since it is covered– it is OK even if the weather isn’t perfect. Neutral: The food is better at the Brookhaven location, though the food here isn’t bad. Cons: The service leaves something to be desired. They could learn to be a bit more attentive.

I wasn’t impressed with the food at all. Good service however the food was mediocre, reminded me of a Denny’s or IHOP. I would not go back unless I had no other choice.

I haven’t eaten inside but have ordered to-go. Mandy assisted me with my order and she was so friendly. I have never ordered to-go anywhere and had this great of an experience. I can’t wait to return! Oh and I always get the strawberry crepes ;).

I’ve been to J Christopher’s on Ponce a few times this year and I always leave thinking, the food was OK and overpriced. After yesterday’s brunch, I will never eat there again. I spent most of last night in stomach pains because of their food and could not sleep with multiple runs to the bathroom to vomit. Another brunch mate had complained about his food not tasting right and had his meal swapped it out and reimbursed. The gentleman next to me ordered the bruschetta special which had so much garlic the whole table smelled it. My skillet was lukeworm at best. Their staff acts like it’s the first time they’ve ever had to deal with a Sunday brunch crowd. Glasses were slammed on the table in a hurry when served and we were rushed to order. In the end, their food tastes like the Sysco truck they came off of. And their bad art always creeps me out. With so many breakfast and brunch options in the city and along the Ponce corridor, you’d be doing yourself a favor by spending your money at Java Jive next door, the breakfast bar at Whole Foods, or even the Majestic. For the same price or slightly more, you can get a much more satisfying meal all around.

I have been to J Christopher’s twice for breakfast and will not ever try it again. I visited two different locations(Ponce de Leon and Powers Ferry) and I’m convinced the food is not good at any location. On my first visit, I ordered the Blueberry Crunchcakes(blueberry pancakes with crunch granola mixed in) and scrambled eggs. The eggs were ok but the Crunchcakes were dry and not very flavorful. I ordered this at the recommendation of the server who said it was one of their most popular menu items. I was really disappointed with this dish and very hesitant to try it again. On my second visit, I ordered the Eggs Christopher(eggs benedict on smoked turkey and an english muffin). This entrée was so bad that I stopped eating after 2 – 3 bites. The eggs sat on top of turkey lunch meat and was topped with a very bland version of hollandaise sauce. It was also served with oven-roasted potatoes which were cold and not cooked all the way. Undercooked potatoes are the worst! I believe I have given J Christopher’s a fair chance and will not ever try it again. I am convinced they are all consistently bad and do not have the same standards as most restaurants that specialize in breakfast and brunch.

Hmm… I’ve been twice. First time was great service and just okay food. Second time was less than ok service and excellent food. Each time I got the Sausage gravy skillet. They didn’t put the sausage on it the first time I got it, so maybe that’s why it was so much better the second time. Its pretty okay. I’ll go again because of the location. Coffee is good. Soda’s are watered down and flat because they keep them in a pitcher. I question how often they clean those little coffee pots they bring to your table.

Reliably good food, because some days I just don’t feel like taking the gamble on a new, potentially disappointing resto(wow, that sounds sad. Ah well.) Pros: there’s never a wait(primary reason I’m here so much); create your own omelette; pumpkin pancakes in the fall; that I can substitute fruit for the potatoes, which I don’t really care for here Cons: good service is hit or miss; noise level is high when its busy.

Great local breakfast nook with excellent service. Our waitress Natalie was great. The pantry feast includes pancakes and eggs and was delicious. I’ll definitely be back! I particularly like the location on Ponce, just has a good neighborhood feel and is very efficient at getting you fed a hot breakfast and getting on with your day.

To me, this is an average breakfast/brunch place… and in a town teeming with brunch spots… is that really enough? I don’t think so either… but it is dependable and that is a good thing. I am never overly impressed or truly disappointed here. I had the lemon ricotta pancakes the last time I was here and they were good, but a little thin and a bit oily. But I did clean my plate(yes, mother, I did) They have a variety of foods, for breakfast or lunch. If the others are packed, I usually come here… Or when your name gets skipped over at Thumb’s Up and a walk-in gets seated before you do… then I come here.

The food? It was bad… I mean seriously, how do you mess up breakfast? I was attending a breakfast meeting here and ordered the Quiche Lorraine with a biscuit and gravy as a side. Lets start with Quiche. It was brown, wrinkled, hard and dry. It looked as if it had been made two weeks ago and had been sitting under heat lamp for that entire time. I couldnt taste the potatoes or bacon in it, just black pepper. I can get better quiche at a fraction of the cost from the Whole Foods up the street. The gravy and biscuit? The gravy was bland and what little flavor it did have was from the excessive use of yep, black pepper. The biscuit was okay. Something didnt seem to sit right, it was a flavorless mound of flour. I had one bite and left the rest for the trash. Our server, his name was Stanley I think. Great service! Very attentive, helpful and funny. He was there when we needed him and nothing more. He is reason enough to bump the review to 2.5 stars. If this review were based on the food alone it would only have one.

We like to go here because there is never a wait and the food is consistently good. I usually go traditional with eggs and bacon. Sometimes I get the crunchcakes, which are actually very good, but I have to be extra hungry. I have always had really good service here, too. Reading the other reviews makes me wonder if this place improved remarkably before I ever tried it, or if I’ve just been really lucky. I don’t have any interest in waiting 30 – 45 minutes for a table at a trendy brunch spot for some eggs and bacon, so this is my go-to place instead. I’ve been here a bunch and will certainly return.

J Christophers — think high-quality Denny’s. Very… VERY… typical traditional lunch place. Nothing special, I hear that Flying Biscuit has a more unique experience, but expect a line there. I was surprised at how good the corned beef hash is, and their ability to make a good omelet. However, I was very disappointed in the skillet, the potatoes are boring and the eggs seemed overcooked.

I like going here they have healthy options — and my favorite breakfast item, egg white omelette. They even can cook it with just pam, which is really awesome and it’s definitely affordable. They also have traditional favorites like pancakes and french toast, and grits. All served in hefty portions for a great deal. Service isn’t the best, but it’s a much better location than the decatur one. They even have a balcony upstairs.

Will it change your life? No. But is it great for an affordable brunch? Absolutely. Fun interior, nice staff, good selection on the menu.

I have only been here once, but I loved it! I had a great burger with an egg.(It was a J. Christopher’s fave but I can’t recall the name of it.) There were 5 of us and we all enjoyed our food. he service was good, but the only thing was that hey ran out of a certain coffee flavor we were looking for. Other than that it as a great experience.
