Oh Highland Bakery how I love thee! Was in Atlanta for a few days and we were there twice. Both times we left happy and having thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Had the Peanut Butter stuffed French toast and my son had the Fried Chicken Benedict. Both were amazing. Second trip we took my husband and tried the French Toast, Country Fried Benedict, and the Ricotta pancakes. They hit it out of the park. We also purchased an oatmeal cookie and a chocolate chip cookie to go for our our trip and I am wishing I could go back just for that. Loved that oatmeal cookie!

Great Brunch! I’ve been to the other two Highland Bakeries and definitely prefer this one(for the food AND atmosphere). Every dish I’ve tried has been filling and delicious. No matter how full I am, I can never bypass the bakery counter on the way out for a few cupcakes or pastries to-go. Have only been for Brunch and there’s always a wait, but well worth it for sure!

This was my second time here, but it had been almost 5 years since the first time. I came as a group of three on a Saturday at 2:30, and the wait was about 20 – 25 minutes. Once we sat down, the service was prompt and decent enough. I ordered the fried chicken eggs benedict, and had asked for my potatoes to be well done. The fried chicken eggs benedict was outstanding, and it came with a jalapeño cheese sauce that could have been spicier but was delicious. The potatoes did not come well done, and were pretty bad. I didn’t enjoy them at all. The style of potatoes they have here just aren’t really breakfast potatoes, which left me disappointed in two ways. Overall, this place is fine. Its not outstanding, but its good. They have a very creative menu and there is a lot of things I could see myself ordering. However, its not the best brunch I have ever had, but the wait for a meal here makes you feel it might be.

Love this place, hate the long wait… But it’s so good! It was my 2nd time here! I came here with some friends on Saturday around 11am and we got seated in the guestimated time frame(45 – 60 minutes) I think we got seated sooner. It’s a great area, Inman park-ish? We put our names down and walked down and back and heard our name called. I ordered the corned beef sandwich no cheese and my husband got the peanut butter French toast which got some wandering eyes from the table next to us, it was amazing. Check the picture out… The sandwich I got was really good. Wish there was more meat since it comes on a hearty bread(rye) but then again I’m sure I’d be super stuffed! I also got the hot apple cider, which was extremely hot that i burned my tongue. Im just so impatient… Anyways, would definitely come back again!

As with any brunch spot, be prepared for a wait if you’re coming here on a weekend. Luckily it’s in a nice neighborhood that you can walk around to kill time/burn the calories you will soon be consuming. In classic southern style, there is some variation of a fried chicken dish. The fried chicken benedict was much better than I expected — instead of a huge piece of chicken a la chicken & waffles, it was a two smaller pieces on top of two biscuit halves with a poached egg on each — perfect for sharing. Also ordered sweet potato pancakes — you can get a full order of 2 pancakes or half order of 1, which made for a nice sweet ending to the meal. They make cakes here too(remember– it’s a bakery) and we were sitting near a family celebrating a birthday. The cake was brought out and it was the largest one I’ve ever seen after a Costco sheet cake — 4 – 5 layers. The family was super sweet and brought slices to neighboring tables, wishing us a Happy Valentines Day.(note from this Northerner — the Southern hospitality was in full force today). Not surprisingly, the cake was delish and I wish we hadn’t had the pancakes so I could’ve finished it!

This place is great! I had to pick up lunch for the office here for 16 people and they had everything organized and ready. They forgot the baked treats(It was a lot of food to keep up with in general) but, they brought them over no issue. They even threw in an extra baked treat for my troubles. I had the eggs Benedict with fried chicken & a biscuit and I only wish I had ate it in the restaurant. It was do good! I need to go back and have it fresh out the kitchen. Also the mini muffins and croissants are also great. The girl that helped me I wish I remembered her name(she was slim and had a bob hair cut) made my experience pretty easy and enjoyable. So props to her and the food.

Good Amazing food No, serious, the food was amazing. Enjoyed the art on the walls Great chill atmosphere The bad I only regret that we couldn’t try more food. Walked about 2 miles to eat here(eating guilt free o’s worth it) The date verdict Bring here here for a wonder brunch or breakfast to stare lovingly in her eyes… Until the food comes!

Highland Bakery had been on my list to try out for a while now and Sunday was the day that I had the chance to feast. Located on the corner of the Highland area, it is in a building where it may have been a warehouse at one time. It is rustic and I love the building itself. I think I just love the whole area that it is located in. They have outside seating on the sidewalk that makes walking a bit hard if you’re parked to the right(if you’re facing the building). The wait was long but I was excited to be there, they do sell coffee, teas, different types of baked goods that you are able to browse around or order during your wait. The wait staff is very friendly but since it is busy, it takes time for them to come around… other than that, the food wasn’t too memorable. I ordered their grill cheese sandwich with avocado(extra $ 1.59) and a cup of the chili. It is a good helping of melted white cheddar on perfect toasted bread cut in half for convenience. My bf had the fried chicken eggs benedict; he didn’t care too much for it, it is unique but that is as far as it goes. We both agree that West Egg’s egg benedicts are better. This is a good place to try but I don’t think I will be coming back. It was a experience if you’re in Atlanta.

Very good breakfast menu items. I always go for the french toast with frest fruit. Sweet potato pancakes are the bomb too. With a cup of strong coffee… what a way to start off your day.

The last couple of times I visited Highland Bakery I was unimpressed by the service and the food. Highland Bakery has lost it’s shine. No longer is it the top brunch spot in Atlanta now that it has opened additional locations. I’m not sure if the expansion of the business has caused the service and food to suffer but it isn’t the same place of excellence that it used to be.

I was seated at the bar seat immediately(perks of dining solo lol) and was greeted by a server. I’ve read a lot about the sweet potato pancakes from Highland Bakery so I already knew what I wanted. I had grilled cheese cravings so I ordered that too. 1. Sweet potato pancake: THISWASSOOOAWESOME. I got a half portion(1 slice) and they looked absolutely amazing. On the outside, it was the right about of crisp(not exactly crispy but just done to the right amount, you know what I’m saying?) and it retained the soft texture inside. Not to mention, the brown sugar butter that came with it was life changing. I’ve never been a fan of the usual honey /maple syrup drizzle with the pancakes because it’s usually too sweet for me. I loved the brown sugar butter — the right amount of sweetness and texture. It wasn’t too thick such that it would mask the texture of the pancake. I found myself reaching out to pour more of it on my pancake countless times. The small serving of chopped nuts that came with it was a subtle but great addition because of the texture it added to the pancake. Highly recommended. 2. Grilled cheese: This was good too — bread was slightly charred both sides and crisp, cheese wonderfully melted. And the pickle at the side was a great compliment too. Comes with chips, though you can most definitely choose other sides to go with it.(this is all I can say because the sweet potato pancake totally stole the show) Service was great — my server gave the right amount of attention, never too pushy so I was able to fully enjoy my meal. I would love to go back if I’m ever in Atlanta again! Tip: Parking at the back of the restaurant is usually difficult. When I was there, cars were parked across the street from the restaurant. Alternatively, drive down a couple of blocks and there should be street parking somewhere(~5−10 minute walk, depending on luck).

This place lived up to the hype of the reviews. The food is excellent. Service was quick and super friendly. The wait to get a table was about 35mins. The crowd seemed to die down around 1ish. Parking is limited. We parked on the street and hiked back up to the spot. Not a terrible walk, but the windchill was biting that day! Over all its a nice place, with great food, and friendly service.

Great food! Definitely worth the wait. I purchased the cupcakes after my breakfast and they were delicious. It wasn’t just sugar, but had great flavor. Will definitely head back if I have a chance

Worst. Service. Ever. You know that Chicago Hot Dog stand where you go and they insult you while you order? Yeah… I rather go there, especially since I know what I’m getting myself into. The food here isn’t bad. Some items are pretty good and other items aren’t the greatest. My company wanted to do individual orders for lunch on day. There’s about 30 of us. That’s a lot of individual orders, I know… BUT we always call the restaurant the day before to ask if they are able to handle this many orders. We typically email the restaurant by 9AM the morning of, which is numbered with everyone’s name and their order. So we called Highland Bakery the day before and asked if we could submit individual orders for 30 people. They happily said that they would be able to have the orders labeled and ready for pick up at 11:15AM. THAT was a lie. The whole time, we heard them grumbling and complaining to each other about our orders. «Why are they putting in 30 individual orders?!» and stuff like«This isn’t my job». Umm… yes. yes it is your job. Before heading back to work, we always double check the orders because we don’t want to forgot anyone’s food. Plus it’s a 30 minute drive away. So before leaving, we said we would like to check the orders. For some reason, they kept insisting that everything was there and was trying to discourage us from checking. Three times they said nothing needs to be checked, and three times we said we need to check the food Seriously?! Just let us check the food. This is also our job. So we check the food, and of course, several orders were missing. They then pulled everything out of the bag and went through each order on the receipt before making the missing orders. They wanted to check to see if they charged us for the missing orders, and yes they did. We had to hold our tongues from complaining or saying anything in fear that they would spit in our food. By the time we walked out the door, it was over an hour later. Their excuse? They had 2 big orders that day… one of which was ours. I’m sorry, but that’s a poor excuse. Also, if you can’t handle a big order, don’t say you can! Even then, the horrendous attitudes and disrespectful workers are inexcusable! This experience was so bad that I would actually go out of my way to tell people NOT to eat here. I stopped going to their other location over at midtown because of the mediocre food and bad service. I didn’t think it could get any worse at their other location. I wonder how the hiring process works at Highland Bakery… but let me just say: Never Again! Highland Bakery has become notorious in my industry for their unprofessionalism. Because of this, a lot of companies I work for no longer order from Highland Bakery. I did not want to believe it but after seeing it, I understand. In my industry, we cater and eat out every day, so sorry Highland Bakery, but you’ve just lost thousands of dollars in business because of your terrible service.

I absolutely love this place. It was my first time in ATL and I was able eat here for brunch. Like everyone else I ordered the stuffed French toast. Amazing! Needless to say, I ate every last bite of my meal. The flavors were perfect. My aunt had shrimp and grits and she loved them. My husband ordered country fried egg Benedict and he was in love.

For a bakery, the pastries were not very good. The chocolate croissant didn’t have a flaky crust and had texture more like a chocolate calzone. The egg biscuit is well made, buttery, and well seasoned.

This place was one of the stops on a Atlanta food tour that I went on(but I have been here before). Went here on a Sunday afternoon and tried one of their macaroons– it was to die for! The place itself is beautiful and the cakes look exquisite. If you are looking for a nice little French treat and a hot beverage, I would suggest you stop by!

I’ve been to the Midtown location. But I really like this location as well. I just wish it weren’t so crowded. But everyone knows thats what you get at Highland Bakery. Because it’s so good! I had the Highland breakfast with the blueberry ricotta pancakes. *mouth waters*… *homer simpson drool sound* Even though it’s extremely crowded on a Saturday, prices are great, food is great, ambience is wonderful. I love the hippie dippie Millenial crowd. Food is always great and so is the location. If you haven’t been, do yourself a favor and go!

Been 20+ times. Food is consistent; portions and taste are great for price. DONTGOON A SUNDAYAFTER9:15AM. Favs: peanut butter french toast, regular french toast, fried chicken benedict, country fried steak benedict, sweet potato pancakes, oatmeal, biscuits are standard/tasty, grits are true. If you’re really craving delicious cheese grits, go to Sweet Melissa’s in Downtown Decatur. I stay away from the highland breakfast. Eggs are weird and slimy. Just not the breakfast for me, I personally prefer Waffle House breakfast. And don’t get the fruit cup. It sucks for the price. Once again, try Sweet Melissa’s for that one We normally walk out for around $ 25 – 30, 20% tip included

Highland bakery is one of my favorite brunch spots in Atlanta! The only downside is that it’s also everyone else’s favorite brunch spots in Atlanta so you might have to wait a while if you come during peak hours. They have two dishes on the 2013 Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau Signature 100 list: The Peanut Butter French toast and the Cilantro Corn pancakes. Of the two, my favorite is the French toast. The Cilantro Corn pancakes are basically like a southwest style dish. The pancakes are topped with a fried egg, avocado, cheese, jalapeños, and a few other things. My all time favorite on their menu is the fried chicken benedict. It’s probably best not to think about the amount of calories packed in that one little dish, but damn it’s awesome.

This place is great! First off, all of the waitstaff were extremely friendly, funny, and helpful. We were seated immediately, and our waiter gave great recommendations on what to order. We started with the mini donuts which were the perfect consistency of fluffy/cakey. I ordered the smoked salmon plate and my coworkers ordered the fried chicken Benedict and the French toast. The fried chicken Benedict was so tasty, I loved the jalapeño biscuit and the cheesy hollandaise sauce paired with it. The French toast was served as thick fluffy slices of bread with sweet syrup and some sliced strawberries. The salmon with my dish was very fresh! I want to come back and try all of the pastries I passed by as we were seated. I would imagine this place gets very busy on the weekend, but we ate here on a weekday morning and it was very quick! We also loved the neighborhood the restaurant was in and all the available parking.

I can’t say enough good things about Highland Bakery! When my wife suggested HB, I was a bit skeptical. I knew the reviews were great but I was also really hungry so I was dreading the possible wait time at such a trendy spot. When we got there, of course there was a crowd(both inside and outside) and we almost turned around but we decided to try our luck. Surprisingly, the host said it would be only a 15 – 20 minute wait so we stayed. While we waited, we stood right next to the bakery display case. There were delicious looking cupcakes that were beautifully decorated for Christmas and other yummy looking desserts – I saw a coconut brioche that made my mouth water! It all looked SO good. A few minutes later, we were seated making our complete wait time about 10mins. We were seated at a small table in the back of the crowded restaurant and were immediately waited on by a very friendly waitress. She brought us our drinks(btw they have the STRONGEST coffee on planet Earth!) and showed us the menu. When she returned with the drinks we ordered our food. While we waited, I had the chance to look at the artwork featured on the walls around the restaurant. I hear the artwork changes from time to time but that day we were treated to music concert photography by a local Atlanta photographer. He had great shots of Katy Perry, the Rolling stones, Sam Smith and others. Very cool! The food came out very quickly! I kept marveling at the level and quality of service that we were receiving even though the restaurant was so full. Highland Bakery is known for their Benedicts. In fact, the menu is almost all benedicts which is kind of a bummer in a way if you’re looking for more variety in your brunch. Upon suggestion of my wife who’d been there once before, I ordered the fried chicken Benedict with potatoes as my side. I was expecting chicken wings or thighs like what you’d typically get with a chicken and waffle dish. But what it turned out to be was poached eggs on top of flattened, pan fried chicken breasts all on a grilled biscuit drenched in a cheddar jalapeño sauce. We also split a half order of ricotta pancakes. The Benedict– What a delicious dish! The eggs were perfectly pouched –not overcooked, not undercooked – so that as soon as I pushed my fork through, the thick, warm egg yolk dribbled out all over the biscuit. The chicken was seasoned to perfection and was very moist. I was worried about the jalapeño sauce since I’m not a big fan of spicy food; this sauce was only mildly spicy but you could still taste the flavor of the jalapeño and the cheese. The biscuit was fine as biscuits go but eaten in combination with everything else… PERFECTION! I LOVED this dish. The potatoes — Red potatoes were used and they were perfectly crispy around the edges but soft in the middle and so perfectly seasoned that I didn’t want them to end. Ricotta Pancakes — the pancakes were pretty good. They come with blueberry compote on the side but our waitress also brought us a side of warm maple syrup. I immediately added the syrup but the pancakes didn’t need them at all. They were very moist and mildly sweet on their own. I wasn’t quite doing cartwheels over them because I’m a fan of pancakes of the thicker, fluffier variety but they were yummy in their own rite. Overall, Highland Bakery was top notch in terms of service, price and food taste/quality. It could easily become one of my regular brunch spots.

I found this place a little over rated, not what I expected for the amount of reviews they have. I. FOOD&DRINKS **Sweet Potato Pancakes: It was soooo good but I wish I had some pecan butter or topping to compliment the pancakes but instead I had this weird liquid syrup that didn’t even have any kind of flavor to it and was wayy to runny to be consider syrup. *Potato(Sides): Burnt. All of it was burnt. Want to get cancer by eating burnt food? Well this is the place to go serve on a greasy plate, but watch out, your food could’ve been on someone else’s table. Yep, that’s right. I got my potato first and didn’t touch it until the rest of my meal came. 5 minutes later, one of the server said«sorry, not yours yet» and brought it back in the kitchen to give it to another server who was waiting for her potato.(fyi, i was sitting right in front of the kitchen area). *Bacon(Sides): Burnt as well, it was so burnt that my three pieces of bacon shrunk in size that it could be consider one piece in length. II. SERVICE The service was mehhhh. They did not have any uniform or aprons, it was hard to tell who’s who if your trying to wave down someone. The hostess ask me if I wanted to be seat at the bar or table and told them«let me see which one I wanted»(assuming they fact he will show me where I could be seated at but didn’t). he then responded«well you go ahead and look what you want and come back to me and I’ll sit you»…uhm what? I’m walking back and forth for you to just give me my menu? okay… My server was irritated and seem like she wanted her shift to end already along with two other employees who had a conversation about«not feeling it today». III. ATMOSPHERE/DECOR I like the layout of this place but I had a hard time finding this place since the sign isn’t visible on the street. IV. PRICES This place is over price, I spent $ 24 on myself for food I barely ate. V. OVERALL I wouldn’t come back to this place after the crappy service and maybe someone else’s order being served to you.

Not too sure what all the hype is about. Got seated outside with my little dog, waitress then seats two people with an extremely large dog(just casually walking by) next to our table which meant a very unrelaxing brunch(not because they were vicious towards each other, but because they wanted to play… the entire two hours…) So Highland if you’re reading this, STOPDOINGTHAT. Don’t sit people with dogs next to other people with dogs. You’re asking for a disaster. Aka moving tables. Aka owners holding on their leashes for dear life. Besides that, my pal got the Peanut Butter french toast which was super sweet(definitely a dessert type thing) and I got an omelet. Each item for the omelet is extremely expensive for a breakfast(just a FYI), Potatoes that came with were mushy and not crisp on the outside. I got a side of fried chicken thinking it would be fried chicken. In reality, it’s a chicken patty that’s been pre-cooked then frozen, then defrosted then probably frozen again and baked for my eating pleasure. So gross. Tasted just like freezer burn. Cinnamon buns were alright. Very hard which I found distasteful but other people like them. The best thing was the sweet potato biscuit. Delish!

I love it when I can sneak in greens for breakfast… And what more decadent, delicious way than with a Breakfast BLT(8.99)! Bacon, slightly runny eggs, mixed greens, and slices of tomatoes are all good, but what really elevated this sandwich for me was the super fresh slices of bread(a good reminder to always sample the baked goods at any«bakery», even if I’m in the restaurant section) that are toasted and slathered with heavenly, heavy-breathing-worthy herb mayo. New favorite sandwich in ATL, fo sho.

A bit disappointed. I ordered the peanut butter French toast, and the challah bread was really dry. The sauce is too sweet to completely moisten the dry bread, so overall I was just really underwhelmed. I had such high hopes for this meal too :( I still like the ricotta pancakes, however.

What the hell is this? I purchased a cupcake this afternoon from Highland Bakery around 3:30pm and an hour later I’m at my desk wanting to eat my expensive cupcake and it’s absolutely horrible. Frosting has a sourish tint to it, cupcake and frosting where hard as a rock and broke my fork… This is absolutely horrible… Don’t see why so many people like this places. I should be compensated. My sweet tooth was not satisfied at all… Highly upset that o spent almost 4 dollars on such a horrible cupcake… Check out the video I just posted of it…
