This gets an abysmal rating because of the experience; I also didn’t have any great outcome from the Chinese medicine.
Mr. Shelton has a terrible bedside manner. I did not feel welcome, or comfortable or informed. I attempted to provide my feedback during the visit, so he would not read my complaints here. However, instead of accepting feedback or being in a place of listening, he refuted my experience. That’s a recipe for not building a fanbase. Related to that, no one set my expectations about the pricing schedule.
Base on all of that, I would not recommend this company.

I am not a needle guy, but Jeff has used other forms of Chinese Medicine, including herbs and cupping, to help me quickly recover from several bad colds.
Jeff is a great practitioner who’s skills are complimented by his ability to listen. Jeff is genuinely interested in his patients and his positive energy is infectious!

The story is, I have a ridiculously BAD back. I had chronic pain for a year after some pilates gone bad. My favorite memory from that time: I was editing something for work at three in the morning, and literally lying on the floor, pencil in hand, while my boss and others were stepping over me and sad for me. I could barely see through the pain. I did see a physical therapist and a few pill pushers and even a busy, not very focused «half-​rate» acupuncturist during that year. I felt a little better at times, but it seemed my default position was pain.
Then I saw Jeff of Highland Acupuncture. From the first visit, I felt the qi moving. Seriously, from the first needle! And my entire lower back relaxed into butter and only improved with each visit. Jeff’s professionalism (profound) and skills (mad) are clear and comforting (important when you are in pain). The results were surprisingly immediate, for me.
Jeff was very thorough and focused when he questioned me, and explained where and what he was doing with each needle. It was really a relief to be in good hands, and a greater relief when my back pains stopped controlling my life.
Folks in the Atlanta area are very lucky to have this treasure.
