I travel for a living and the service here was fantastic and very authentic. The food was amazing and extremely flavorful. I will be back every time I come into town and I would highly recommend this to all of my friends.

I was here during DragonCon. A friend was visiting from out of town and wanted to grab some Indian, so we chose Haveli. The restaurant is conveniently located for the DragonCon crowd, but far enough away that it doesn’t get too crowded. We were taking to the, I presume, owner or manager about how we lived in Atlanta(me and one of my friends), but had never been here. His reaction was very odd and he was very offended that we had not tried his restaurant even though we liked Indian food. Weird. I got my usual order — chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. It was OK; I have definitely had better. Service was slow. So due to average food and the notes about service, I downgraded to two stars.

I’ve been here twice for the lunch buffet and enjoyed it. It’s usually not very crowded around lunchtime, so you can pop in and sit anywhere. I’m surprised that this place has such low reviews based on my experiences. Each time I’ve been, I went with someone who was a native speaker and conversed with the staff that way. It’s not Americanized Indian food, so if that’s what you’re looking for don’t come here. There are always a lot of different dishes on the buffet, and the naan is always delicious and fresh. I can’t speak to this place for dinner, but if you’re looking for an Indian lunch buffet in this area, it’s not bad.

Found this place on gubhub and frequently get the delivery. I’ve tried a of couple things but my favorite is the paneer makhani. Super good vegetarian dish, and best paneer dish I’ve ever had to be honest.

Average tasting food … The rotis have to be more softer… the poori is baaaddd. Service was fine and the overall experience was mediocre…

Food was decent but the service was terrible. The place was half empty but we had to wait almost 30 minutes before our order was even taken and then an hour before the food came! When we asked we were told it was because the cook made each dish separately. Then we had to get up and pay individually at the desk because no one would come give us our check. Will not be going there again.

The service was great, the food was awesome, and the chef even brought us a special treat that shocked my tastebuds into submission. I will definitely be coming back!

Seemed like there were only two people working there. Fifty minutes to deliver our food. The food itself was decent but the wait cancelled that out. If you’re in Atlanta for Indian food, there are probably better and faster alternatives. Not sure how they can still afford to run such a huge restaurant if they’ve been so bad for so long. Seems like either quality went down a lot recently or it’s a front for some money laundering thing.

Over priced, understaffed… On a fine Saturday afternoon… at 1:30PM, there is no rice, no naan, no daal in the buffet… Was already frustrated as despite many empty seats, we were seated after 15 minutes, the waiter just didn’t have time to stop by and make small talk. Service is awful, worser than Indian restaurants in India! After seating, We got our first glass of water after another 10 minutes… May be it was a bad day for them, but what bad service does can be undone by good behavior. Alas! That is also not come here even if you crave Indian food… Now lets get to food, for $ 14, you will get many options elsewhere(believe me, I go to Indian restaurants all the time), The gravy Chicken tasted as if it was at least a day old, Fish of course was over! Lamb was fine. While leaving we wanted to express our concerns and the reply we got was«We have survived for 30 years with this service»…Need I say more!

Visited this spot while in Atlanta on business. The staff was sooooo nice. LOVED our Bengali server whose name I can’t recall at present! I ordered the Butter Chicken(Chicken mikala… it was okay) and my husband got some Chicken and spinach dish that he raved about. Also ordered the garlic naan(super yummy) and the puri(looked like whole wheat… wasn’t a fan). Hubby also ordered an Indian beer that was huge!!! Not necessarily the best Indian food I’ve ever eaten but the atmosphere & service experience was one of the best I’ve had anywhere(hence the rating).

Visiting Atlanta for one day and asked the concierge at my hotel for a good Indian restaurant. He recommended this place. Normally, I am not a fan of buffets, but this was phenomenal. Host and waitstaff were prompt and professional. Food was fresh and well presented. Would give five stars, but you can not order off the menu until after 5:30. I will definitely try again the next time I am in town!

My wife and I arrived at 6:20, were finally spoken to 30 minutes later. I am writing this review now at 7:28… And still haven’t been served. My wife and I are resigned to waiting … And never returning. Comic relief: I ordered chicken curry because the waiter said the muglai would take too long to prepare! :-)

Its a pretty worn down place. We ordered a mixed vegetable jalfrezi, mutton parantha and a raita. Sadly, the best item was the raita. Good service though.

Ah ! I am writing this with a heavy heart because I love Indian Food. We went there for dinner and ordered chana masala and bhindi. Chana masala was crap so much so that I ate my tandoori roti with pickle and not the chana masala. My husband and I had skipped lunch and was super hungry so we ate with pickle. This is the first time I had roti and pickle in a restaurant and paid for it lol !!

Walked in because I saw a sign for the lunch buffet. Got really terrible food poisoning about 2 hours later and ended up in the ER. Just a warning.

Not only is this the best Indian Food Ive ever had, it may be the best meal I’ve ever eaten. The chicken jalfrezi had a pleasant spice that was a whole body experience. The Chicken Tika Masala was absolutely divine and the Garlic Nan was crisp and yet soft and flaky. This place is well worth visiting!

So, I’m not sure why some of the review are low, but full disclosure, I typically don’t eat Indian food and I love this place. So I could see that people who are used to spicy or heavily authentic Indian dishes might be a little put off, but for the more average person, Haveli’s certainly gets my vote as a healthier go-to spot downtown. I’ve only eaten at their lunch buffet, which is tucked behind the one of the monolithic AmericasMART buildings just down the street from the Westin’s main entrance. But the staff is always friendly and hunger relief is immediate if you don’t order off the menu. As far as the buffet itself, there’s a few different sauces and the required naan. My favorites items are their chopped vegetable salad, spinach, chicken, yellow rice and fried yams. There’s usually also another vegetable offering like mushrooms or eggplant, which have been tasty and make you feel much better about going back to the line a second time. Although I’ve not had the fish, there is usually one seafood option as well as fresh fruit and interesting desserts. So perhaps it isn’t the be-all-end-all to Indian food, but for me, it is a healthy and delicious lunch.

Pathetic experience! We wanted to order veg thali and they did not have it(on a Saturday evening). Then we asked for a biryani and they said all they have is plain rice(WHAT!!?). It took a good 40 mins for our 2 items to arrive. Chicken tikka masala was okay and navratan korma was a disaster. Apparently navratan korma is made with broccoli in it. Update: They hav ealso charged us a gratuity of 15% which I found is extremely confusing and suspicious since we were only 2 of us.
