We came here with a group of 6. The atomosphere is very nice. waiters were very nice and accommodating as well. They are nice and interactive of how we should eat traditional Korean bbq. Very cool. The food was really amazing.

Lack of staff. Cramped atmosphere. +$ 50 for two choices of meat and two small plates is all we got. I thought it would be endless meat like IRONAGE but the boss lady closed down the grill after the meat was done. The waiter cooked for us and was really nice. That’s the only pro.

I believe there is a different owner now. We have been there before but now all the tastes are different than before. Everything is also much more expensive. I will never come back here again because this use to be a well know«historical» place for Korean bbq. It is now nasty. The bibimbap we had only had like 2 small pieces of meet in it. We even got charged for hot tea wow most if not all Korean BBQ is free for hot tea. Also no service? So disappointed… Check out the picture of the fish for $ 15 haha don’t come here please.

This was our third time experiencing Korean BBQ. The people here are extremely friendly and happy and excited to teach newbies the correct methods for a delicious experience. We got the beef and the pork and both were D E L I C I O U S!!! We also got the dumplings as an appetizer and they were amazing! We will definitely be back!

My brother wanted to take me out for my birthday. I’ve only been to one Korean BBQ joint in the Atlanta area and really enjoyed the experience there, but my brother wanted to take me somewhere different. We have a Korean friend that highly recommended this place. My brother made reservations on a Saturday– 7:30 p.m. It wasn’t so busy but I’m still glad that he made the call just incase. We were seated right away. Hae Woon Dae BBQ is Simple Korean BBQ stop offering meats for tableside grilling plus other classic dishes for those of you who don’t know. Here is what we ordered: –Kimchee Jun $ 14.95 –kimchee in special Korean style pan cake. –Cha Dol Bae Gi $ 14.95 –unseasoned wooden charbroiled beef brisket. –Short Rib BBQ $ 15.95 wooden charbroiled whole beef short ribs marinated in Korean sauce. –Pan fried tofu with spicy sauce– pan fried tofu with soy sauce chili dressing –Order of Lime Soju(served in a tea kettle). Can I say that my favorite was the pan fried tofu with spicy sauce? The best appetizer I’ve ever tried! We had the option to grill the BBQ ourselves, but to play it safe, we had a server grill it for us. PERFECTION!!! The brisket and short rib bbq was cooked to our liking. We had the side dishes(of course) to go with our meals. Kimchi, Sprouts, Pickled Vegetable, Iceberg Lettuce, Korean fish cake, and more… I really liked the service, atmosphere and food! I highly recommend coming here.

The food here is typical and same as all the other restaurants that offer similar menus. But I would recommend it to older people who are looking to have a nice Korean dinner for a good price since the interior is nicer than other comparative restaurants nearby and it is a lot quieter since there are significantly less younger crowd.

The service was so awful. The lady working here was rude and curt. We made one request and it seemed after that she was done. She brought everything to our table and didn’t visit us after that. The portion is also ridiculous. Half what you can get in duluth and it tastes better up there too. There’s a sign in every room that says no smoking and that you will be charged for offenses but everyone was smoking in all the rooms with these signs. The flavor of the food was decent but everything else was just awful awful.

Other than the fact they close really late, I find that its expensive. The portion of meat is small, & I’d rather grill the meat myself! I’m used to all you can eat plates, where they refill the meat!

This place is a slum — next to a strip club; and the inside is dimly lit — the only reason I went to this place was after reading all the«great reviews» from others. First off all — I expect more for the price that I paid for the meal. Waitress was rude, she was to engrossed in watching her Korean soap opera than actually trying to take my order– I had to beg her to serve me! I wanted BBQ, found out if you go at lunch time that this is not an option. Disappointed, because I really wanted BBQ. The food was o.k. I ordered Bimbibap even though I wanted BBQ(see note above), egg was over fried, and not enough serving of bean sprouts. I am upset because normally I eat at Urban Spoon or Honey Pig but I was in the Doraville area and I wanted authentic Korean BBQ in somewhat classy, trendy clean atmosphere and this place fell short. I should have followed my intuition when I saw the strip club.

I’ve only been here at 4am, so take this with a grain of salt. Decent bowl of spicy seafood udon, but nothing that you can’t make yourself — and it kind of tastes like a pack of instant noodles. Nothing wrong with that, really. The side dishes are pretty fresh, even at 4am. And bonus points for the Mnet kpop special playing on their giant TV.

This place used to be a lot better. Og spot opened since I was a kid. Portions got smaller and prices went up. Food is pretty good. Usually go here only late night or for lunch specials. Regular dinner prices are not worth it.

It’s more like a 2.5… You have to get two meats to use the table grill. If you order just one, they will make in the kitchen, but the portion seems smaller. Also tried the dumpling soup. It tastes like ramen soup almost? The dumplings seems like homemade, but not super tasty. For the price you pay, not a great place to eat… :(

Being located behind a strip club was the first red flag about this place. Food was very over priced considering the quality and serving size. On the bright side the fried dumpling were pretty tasty. The octopus on the other hand was sub par.

$ 23 for an entrée to grill. Must order two to use the grill. = $ 50 give or take for TWO meals. OVERPRICED, UNJUSTIFIED, DEFINITELYNOTWORTHIT. HORRIBLE — tor that much, there was HARDLY any food. The meat was something like 8 oz per entrée. WHAT? for that much? it comes with lettuce and a bowl of rice. Granted there’s your usual trimming of kimchi and radishes, but dear, we are NOT impressed with all of that — that comes with any kbbq anyway. But what I just couldnt wrap my head around is the portion of the food for the amount we paid. ugh!!! Kimchi fried is rice is acceptabe at about $ 10 for a plate of it. Another $ 8 for two orders of fried dumplings. Now, calculate that and thats a pricey dinner. There were four people, and we thought that for the price of the entrée, we will be able to get a decent amount of food, but boy what a rip-off. Considering that AYCE kbbqs in Duluth can be found at $ 26 per person on a weekend dinner, this place is TERRIBLE. I guess if you have never experienced kbbq before, you may think this place is pretty cool. But there is nothing about this place that is worth my time. The taste wasnt even all that?! I am just glad I had great company and still was able to enjoy our time, but man … Also, servers were not at all friendly when we asked for seconds on the little side dishes and service was almost non existent(granted there was only 3 servers in the entire place on a Saturday night and there was a huge party next to us — bleh.) The water tasted straight up like something from the community pool’s toilet, and a CAN of soda(no refills ofcours) is like 2 bucks each. WTF? Fellow Unilocalers, yall really brought me down this time.

This was my first experience with Korean BBQ. I loved the experience of sharing the food with my friends. We ordered a bunch of different things. Stand outs: Gochu Pajun-hot peppers and scallions in special Korean style pan cake-which were super tasty! & I can’t remember what it was called, but it was basically fried rice in a bowl. Other things we had: Bibim Bab, Bul Gogi, Jool Mul Ruk, Good Mandu & Sam Kyup Sal. The food was good, but I think I’d more so just go back for the atmosphere & to try new things.(That is, if I get back to ATL)

What a way to ring in the New Year. It was New Years Eve and I was looking for something hearty to eat before a night of drunkenness and debauchery(just kidding). I was also not feeling too hot due to a headache I was struggling through all day. Key to small ailments? Korean soups. We stopped by several restaurants who were closed before finding Hae Woon Dae still open. The restaurant was pretty empty except for two groups of about 8, and occasionally a small group walking in, dressed the way we were(like bums) pre-New Year’s Eve festivities. I ordered a kimchi jigae, the ultimate Korean comfort soup, filled with pieces of beef, kimchi, and an assortment of veggies. I don’t know if it was because I had suddenly gotten super hungry or what, but I devoured it. My friend commented that the food tasted a little«artificial», as in there seemed to be additional added artificial flavorings to make it taste better. I wouldn’t have known any better. While we were finishing up our meal, it smelled like there was a sewage problem, which stunk up the entire restaurant. Yikes. We got out of there soon as we could to loiter outside instead.

This was my first time eating dinner here, and my first time to eat at a Korean restaurant in Atlanta in a long time. I ate by myself and ordered the dol sit Bibimbop(stone Bibimbop bowl). It was good, but I have to say it was a little lacking in the ingredients. The menu priced both the veggie and the beef versions at $ 12.95. Usually restaurants charge less for vegetable but i tried the beef just to see what the difference would be. Also the restaurants I usually go to charge less for this dish altogether… When my dish came out, you could barely see the few tiny pieces of beef they put in there. Also I had a lot of rice leftover in the end, which leads me to believe they did not load up the stone bowl with the ingredients that make up the Bibimbop. As a result, the food was good but the value for the money was not. Service, fortunately, was good though. Also the Kim chee was very salty. I will probably try other places before I return here.

Love this place! The waiters are really really nice even tho they don’t speak a lot of English. Food is amazing and good quality . I would definitely go back. Even tho I live far away is still worth going.
