Turkey sandwich was not good. Chicken breast was dry. Service was abysmal except for the lady busing tables. She got our drinks and got our server. We were the only customers and 5 people were working. Then they forgot to bring or put an order in for the side salad I ordered. Half the employees were just watching TV. Don’t go here unless you are getting something to go and then don’t go for the food.

Management change has helped. Prices went back to normal. I’ve been 2 times since new management and everything was good — and my order was actually correct.

I didn’t find anything terribly memorable at Goldberg’s. I did like their great selection of bagel spreads and lox. I personally went in for a cinnamon roll, which I asked to be lightly warmed. I feel like they put that beast in the microwave for like a minute. So, if you’re looking for a Cinnamon Roll, I’d check down the street at Panera. What I *did* like and what escalates them to the three stars was that the staff were all very polite, and the manager came around to verify that everyone had been helped. If you need a quick bagel fix, I suspect Goldberg’s will be fine!

Goldberg’s Bagel at Colony Square is super convenient for the lunch crowd in Midtown Atlanta. I went over there a few weeks back with one of my co-workers to grab a quick bite. Due to the nature of our schedules(and seemingly endless amounts of meetings) we almost always grab lunch to go, and when he suggested Goldberg’s I readily agreed. Goldberg’s is similar to the other ones around Atlanta: it’s a deli inside offering sandwiches, salads, soups, bagels and cream cheese(duh), etc. The staff behind the couter inside was very friendly when we put in our orders(a sandwich for him, a chicken salad for me), and it was ready to go in no time. My medium chicken salad was fine: fresh lettuce with a few slices of tomato, cucumber, croutons, shredded carrot and shredded cheese, grilled chicken and ranch dressing. Nothing special but no worse than usual. It filled me up and left me satisfied, which was the goal. All in all, a fine transaction. If I knew ahead of time I was in the mood for salad however, I think I’d choose somewhere else in Colony Square next time — the salad selection is very limited and safe overall. I guess Goldberg’s is really better if you want a sandwich.

We enjoyed our lunch here. It isn’t the most charming setting inside the lobby of an office building but it is fine. We were in Midtown and were looking for lunch — I didn’t have particuarly high expectations and didn’t even know Goldberg’s was a chain. It was very good and very reasonably priced and we’d go back(if we were in the immediate area again)

I’ve been to another Goldbergs location and it was ok. Was in town and close by this one, so planned lunch. Should have checked reviews first. Cost $ 1.50 per 15min to park in garage at mall :(Service was good. Food was not. Son had overcooked hot dog, I had undercooked bread. Potato salad was not good at all. Got an $ 8 container of chopped liver to take home only to find out it had turned. Selection was lacking compared to other location. Passed an interesting looking falafel place on way out and wished I had gone there instead.

I usually just eat lunch here when they have a chicken sandwich special, which is awesome by the way, especially with onion rings. I strayed away twice, to eat their po boy and rueben sandwich. Let’s just say I will stick with my chicken sandwich, onion rings, and sweet tea and lemonade. The chicken sandwich is huge, has cheese, and honey mustard on the side. And thanks to them I’m hooked on drinking arnold palmers.

It took them 20 minutes to make a chicken Caesar salad to go, and for the amount of time I had to wait I I got a veggie Caesar. Too crowed for my taste, by the time you check out you realized that you meal has gone up in 3 extra dollars. Trust me I’m not cheap, but god dam don’t over charge me it’s not like there was anything special about my meal.

Well my co-worker decided to stop by this location because it’s the closest to our office. Eventhough the reviews were not as highly rated as some of the other locations. We both ended up with a Corned Beef sandwich. I got the Regular and she got the NY Stack. I also ordered a Chicken Salad sandwich but they made a Chicken Club salad instead. I thought the Corned Beef was wonderful but this was my first time eating Corned Beef, so please keep that in mind! I really enjoyed my sandwich the beef was very thinly sliced and oh so moist. I wished I’d gotten the NY Stack. I also should have gotten some cheese and extra Mustard and Djon packets because the half I ate at work was dry(the Bread). I didn’t really care for the chicken breast. Eventhough this may have been the BIGGEST Chicken Breast sandwich that I have every had, I don’t care to reheat chicken breast as they tend to dry, so I would rather try chicken Salad to be on the sage side. And of course, it was a little on the dry side but it was very well seasoned! But even the lettuce and tomato were nice and fresh. The Roll that the chicken came on was a little thick for me but it was still very tasty. It took me a while to finish the entire sandwich. :) I added some black pepper and mustard to the Potato Salad and it was GREAT! Not too hard and not over cooked either. Almost like a Southern Potato Salad minus the mustard and I don’t recal tasting any pickles. I would go back to this location again. But I will make sure to go myself instead of sending someone else for me since some one can’t interpret my handwriting well enough to give me the proper order.

The food here is decent overall, and a few items are great, including the creamy potato salad. Service and food quality are consistent, and having a restaurant that can get you in and out for a sit down lunch in 40 minutes makes for a reliable lunch spot.

Oh Goldberg’s, I gave you another chance and your manager, Alan, blew it! That is right… I got his name. I ordered the same as before. the special«bagel with cream cheese, nova, tomato, onion, capers, and small coffee». When I went to pay, Alan rang up my check and tried to slip in a $.50 charge because I got veggie cream cheese. Usually I would not mind, but the fact that the sign clearly states«cream cheese» and not«plain cream cheese» makes me understand that means ANY flavor. Alan tried to tell me that i was wrong even though the sign clearly states just«cream cheese». So, I turned into my grandma and told him that if he was going to sneak fees into my order that I did not want it. He said he would waive it this time, but next time it will be $.50 extra. My bialy was pretty good. The nova was not plentiful, but ok. Will I be going back? Probably not to this location. I do not understand how you can have so many cooks in the kitchen yet it takes them forever and a day to get your food prepared.

I’m not Jewish, so I’m probably not the best judge of their awesome cuisine, but I did live in NY for 1.5 yrs so I have an inkling of what a good bagel is supposed to be. As far as I can tell, Goldberg’s has the closest to authenticity for Atlanta.(I haven’t been to any actual Kosher delis around here, so take that with a grain of Kosher salt.) At least. they’re better than Einstein’s. Anyway, my review is just for the one at Colony Square, not for any other Goldberg’s. Before I moved away, I lived close by to the one on P’tree Dunwoody(?), but didn’t go for the bagles, I went for the knishes, which is still one of my all time favorite mid-morning snack. I was very excited to find out that I’ll be working across the street from a Goldberg’s, but was instantly crushed and filled with sadness and despair when I walked in and they said they don’t serve knishes! That’s like, two whole stars taken away right there. After waiting a week, I went back and decided to get a bagel. There was no line, the people were nice. I wanted garlic, but the guy strongly suggested I get onion, on account of they were out of garlic. I wanted hummus on it, and got the hummus. It was good on the toasted onion bagel. So really, no complaints about service or quality. I’ve been out on the Left Coast for a while and to me, styrofoam cups are now tools of Satan to destroy our planet, and that’s all Goldberg’s had for coffee, so I have to take away another star. So, sorry guys. you need to improve on your selection and be more globally aware. Until then, you’re just another mediocre place to get breakfast in Midtown. Good day, sirs.

I come here for lunch a couple times a month, since its close to work and serves J-food, as I lovingly call it. When I’m craving a bagel and a schmear, or a bagel and tuna fish or a bagel and whitefish in the middle of the day, I’m confident that Goldberg’s will deliver. It’s crowded during lunch hour, but anywhere in Colony Square is crowded during lunch hour, so there’s that. It’s not open on the weekends, so if you find yourself craving bagels, you’ll need to find another spot. But, on the merits listed above(convenient, good J-food, good bagels and spreads), you’ll be happy with Goldbergs. Mazel.

I’ve been looking all over Atlanta for a good Jewish deli, but to no avail. Goldberg’s is just okay — I can’t say I was too impressed with the California Reuben that I got(pastrami, swiss, thousand island on rye). The meat was okay — not what you would expect from a good Jewish deli in terms of quality and quantity. Sandwiches are about $ 9 or $ 10 here and come with one side. A bit on the pricey side if you ask me. The steak fries are pretty good though, as I enjoyed those(could add some salt on them next time to make it better). It is apparently only open on the week days. You can get parking validated, which is key since parking is so expensive at Colony Square. Not sure how long you can stay for, but I was here for 1 hour and didn’t have to pay. Might be back again, but still searching for a truly legit and good Jewish deli.

Not only does the website apparently say it’s open on weekends according to Joseph J., but the sign out front says«open 7 days.» Come on — yes, we get that there’s nobody around on the weekends, but at least fix your advertising. The food is fine but you know, I actually prefer Einstein’s bagels and cream cheese — eating a Goldberg’s bagel is a bit like eating bricks and mortar, it’s so heavy. I do like the fact that Goldberg’s has a whole wheat everything bagel. Staff is, shall we say, New York? Not unfriendly, but a bit curt.

I had lunch here on a trip to Atlanta about a week ago. It was good, but nothing to write home about. I had an everything bagel with lox spread. The bagel was good, but had a little too much salt on it for me. The lox spread was ok, but not just exploding with lox flavor. I also had some potato salad but didn’t really care for it. I’m a German-American and I’m from Texas, so I like my potato salad with mustard, and this was really mayonnaisey. I really enjoyed the pickles on the tables — bread and butter slices! The service here was not super great, but not so bad it really made our our lunch unpleasant.

If I made my home in any other city in America, I’d probably be quite smitten with Goldberg’s bagels. But I live in New York, where incredible bagels are available on nearly every block. Goldberg’s bagels, while definitely better than simply edible are several stars short of incredible. I can easily see why this is Jermaine Dupri’s favorite Atlanta bagel(I wonder if he likes scallion cream cheese too?) And were I to live in the ATL it very well might be mine too.

I try not to be a bagel snob, but sometimes it’s difficult. This bagel was acceptable, but it just wasn’t GOOD. If I am ever in Atlanta, and I really need a bagel, I wouldn’t mind coming back in here. However, it is certainly not a destination spot. Since(1) I don’t foresee any bagel emergencies, and(2) I’m not moving to Atlanta any time soon, I’m pretty sure I can hold out until I get back to NYC. Also, I hear(from a fairly unreliable source) that this is Jermaine Dupri’s favorite bagel spot… which couldn’t have less of an effect on my opinion. Let’s all remember this: Atlanta for fried chicken. New York for bagels.

Super crowded at lunch — Ordered a veggie sandwich which was just carrots, lettuce & tomato with potato salad [which tasted like vingear] for $ 7. overpriced and not worth it.
