Georgia Department of Revenue – Motor Vehicle Division

This has been the worst experience ever. I bought a commercial truck in July. Got my tag everything I needed and was good to go. I was given a 2016 sticker so I thought we were fine. Come to find out they made a mistake and printed it on the wrong thing then tried to charge me late fees. I spoke with someone they waived the late fees so I sent a certified check. I called numerous times to find out if it had been posted never got an answer then I received the check back in the mail because it didn’t cover the amount with the late fees which were supposed to be dropped. So after another 10 phone conversations we tried to pay it online but we were locked out of the account. We mailed another check with all of the email correspondence and the same thing. 20 phone conversations with incompetent people that couldn’t tell me anything. My wife spoke with the same woman I spoke with the day before and said the 2^nd check was received last Tuesday so another week has gone by with nothing done. I’ve been waiting for a month and I’m about to lose my contract with the shipper and my driver and I’m still waiting.

Thankfully, my experience was not at all what I expected. I had planned on spending my entire afternoon at this place but I was in and out within an hour.
I needed to get a new title for my car and the process was oddly painless which is unheard of when dealing with government buildings. You go through security, stand in line, are given a number, you sit in an oddly flexible chair and commence to enjoy people watching.
The only thing I was bothered by was the computer generated voice that repeatedly called each number. If the person doesn’t approach the window immediately the voice repeats the number, not once, not five times but yes, up to twelve times. Lucky you!
The place is sterile, there are plenty of chairs, 2 ATM’s and the staff smiles but doesn’t make small talk.
Did I mention I was in an out in an hour? Score!

Even with the new location they are in right now they are still slow and under staffed for the amount of people that they do.
