Came here due to Spa18’s recent closing of business. It’s across the street from their old location. This place is cheaper and is just as good! You can get a foot/leg massage for 30 minutes for only $ 20 + Tips. They are good! The TV is perfect and they were showcasing College B-Ball. This will be our new Massage Spot. :-)

This is by far the best value, most authentic Chinese massage business in the area. Sure, there may be some language barriers, but 25 for one hour foot or 40 for a one hour body by very hard working people is definite 5 star worthy business. My biggest reason for not reviewing sooner was to prevent them from getting too busy to handle walk-in regulars like me. Ignore the posted complaints of others. Let them go elsewhere.

I was treated here by a friend last week as a birthday surprise. We did have an appointment and were greeted immediately. The smell was comforting of Jasmine aroma in the air. I saw red chairs with white swirl flowers and a remote that allows you to adjust it lower or higher. They did have a TV in there on the news but it was on mute with the captions setting on. In my group were three people. We were all seated and given a towel for modesty. Shortly after three different people arrived with a small wooden barrel a plastic bag covering it and hot water inside. We placed our feet in and sunk into the comfortable chairs waiting for what came next. I was allowed to take pictures and the employees came over and began their magic. From our toes to the chins and knees they were pressed and pounded. I have never had a reflexology massage before but this is the business! I loved it and it hurt good. After the legs and feet were done we were asked to sit on the foot stool grab the pillow and lean forward. I was lucky enough to have a teammate switch out and a young man came in to take the lead. He hit, patted, rubbed and maneuvered his hands up and down my neck down to my lower back area. He cracked my back and got rid of some problem areas for me. I fell in love with the two people who worked on me and who knows their names as they did not speak English. I was offered tea and cucumber water during my trip. I was very happy with this experience and would totally come back every time! It was quiet and relaxing with amazing peaceful music. I am not sure about the first person experience that posted but that was not mine at all! We were required to tip after paying but a man is worthy of his wages!

I’m not 100% sure why this place has such bad reviews. I’ve been to most of the foot massage places up Buford HIghway and this is BYFAR the best one. They are consistently good and everyone there is very friendly! My only complaint is that they are super busy on Saturdays and Sundays so they don’t have time to give you 15 or so minutes extra but they really can’t help that.

BEWARE Tourists or Non-Locals. DISHONESTBUSINESS. They will rip you off. My friend and I went and asked for the standard $ 25 foot massage; we were very explicit and clear. Without asking our permission, they continued to do our back; we thought it was just a part of the foot massage package until the lady informed us that we would have to pay extra halfway through. Then she raised her price to $ 45(from the listed $ 40 price). I was with a guest at the time, and they knew it and they also learned I was just visiting, so they put me in a very tight spot. Not wanting to look cheap, I swallowed the bitter medicine, and walked out. After speaking with my friend though, he felt the same way I did, and we knew they scammed us both. They pretend to not know English, but they know more then they let on and communicate in Chinese so they can work as a team(didn’t realize this until the end when they were demanding our money in English). The Chinese Manager also condoned this type of behavior by his workers. I have experienced this type of aggressive unethical practice in third world countries in Asia but never thought I would encounter it here in the US so my guard was down. Save your money and go to another $ 25 massage that is honest and you don’t have to worry about being scammed. The quality of the massage was okay; not sure if they have been properly trained. Really, it’s not worth the hassle and stress to risk being scammed or to deal with this type of behavior. As an Asian-American, I feel this business creates a bad name for honest Asian businesses in the minds of Americans who encounter this type of unethical behavior. Shame on them.

Best massages! I would rather come here than Spa Sydell. For $ 25 you get a «1hr» foot massage. About 5 – 10 minutes of that is your feet being soaked in a hot tea like concoction. Add another $ 15 and you get another 30 minutes of a great back rub. You definitely get your money’s worth PLUS some. Their body massages are only $ 50! You can’t beat that! They offer you tea or water and some pumpkin seeds(I think). The only thing I don’t like and the only reason they don’t get 5 stars… They reuse the towels you use to cover yourself with. Also, if you’re like my gf… And your feet is super ticklish… Ask for Lu. He’s great at finding your pressure points and rather than rubbing, he’ll add pressure in the right places(on the bottom of your feet) and massage the rest(top of feet, legs, back). Note: They don’t speak English very well.

Massage quality is A+. Somewhat crowded and not luxurious but service is excellent and people are very kind-hearted. Highly recommended. Please note that while all seem to speak some English there may be communication difficulties. Be sure to clarify times and arrangements in simple language. The quality of the massage more than makes up for any other shortcomings.

Went again. Got a different lady. My chakras got blocked… I was messed up for a week. *sigh. Now that I’ve sampled more of the massage offerings… Good-bye, Yuki…

(I initially posted the following review thinking I had patronized Foot Massage Jian Zu Fang, which is actually in the next strip mall over. This place is the one really close to Bo Bo Garden and Midori Spa(jack shack alert!).) I’m not gonna lie, if you’ve never had a Chinese-style foot massage before, places like this are intimidating. You don’t know if it’s legit, or if it’s some sketchy jack-shack that advertises in the backpages of Creative Loafing. You don’t know if it’s clean, or if the services are even good. Although I haven’t had tons of experience with them, I’m not a foot massage virgin, having tagged along with my mom and sis back home in Cali, and of course, the homeland across the pond. It’s a relatively low-cost way of getting some me-time, and you’d be surprised at how refreshed you feel after a good foot soak and foot massage. My friend and I got the standard $ 25, 10 min foot soak, 40 min foot massage, and 10 min shoulder massage. First of all, the foot massage chairs are in the front room, and it’s a common area with 8 comfy chair stations, so your fears can be allayed for any backroom skeezy-ness. I was attended to by Jeff, and the massage itself was very good, not too intense, but I bruise easily, so that was perfect pressure for me. My friend who came with me is a dude, and his masseuse was Lisa, and he said the pressure was good too, if perhaps bordering on deep pressure hurts-so-good pain every now and then. I think this was his first experience with Chinese tui-na style massaging though, and may not have been prepared for the intensity. Then again, he’s also a gentle flower: P He was a little weirded out when we first got there, whispering«Um, why is there a tea bag in the foot bath?»(FYI, women put tea bags – the real ones, not the manmeat ones, get your mind outta the gutta! – over their eyes to reduce swelling, I think it’s the same concept here) They were pretty packed when we arrived on a Sunday afternoon, and even had to turn some people away because they wanted a full body massage, or they were waiting too long for a foot massage, and we probably soaked for a good 20 min instead of 10 because the masseuses were all tied up, but oh well. Just be prepared that this is not a candle burning, Enya-playing spa atmosphere, and yes, your masseuse may answer his or her cell phone during your session, but that’s just how these places are. Once you settle into your massage though, you’ll enjoy it, like we both did. Even though it was 10 min shoulder massage, it totally made a difference in such a short amount of time. Altogether good experience. Will return!

At some point this year, I thought it might be a good idea to sample more foot massage places than just the one I was frequenting at the time(namely Spa 18). Since the market had settled on a price point equilibrium of $ 25 for an hour, I decided to branch out. One night, therefore, following dinner with my usual dinner-and-a-foot-massage companion, we entered Foot Massage in Pinetree Plaza. As I’ve mentioned in other reviews, the foot massage that you’ll get from these places is pretty standard – a 10-minute foot soak, 40-minute foot massage, then a 10-minute shoulder/back massage. The first 50 minutes of my experience here was standard and enjoyable. I have to mention, however, the final 10 minutes. In order to address my neck and shoulders, my masseuse had me sit on the ottoman that I previously had my feet upon. She would then rub my shoulders and back with my torso completely unsupported. I spent much of that time trying to stay upright with the muscles in my lower back. For about a week following, my back was extremely sore and unwell because of that resistance to her pressure. While I have contemplated returning to see if Foot Massage has changed the way they do things, I have since found a couple of places that address the neck and shoulders with me in a reclined, fully-supported position. Because there’s many venues for foot massages along Buford Highway, I’ll keep exploring the other options.
