The main thing that stands out about this place is the outdoor seating. The deck is spacious and has plenty of shade or opportunity for sun if you want a great place to eat out doors. The food was above average and portions were generous for the price you pay. I had the frijto burrito and it was like a brick on the plate with two kinds of salsa on the side. Margaritas range from $ 5 – 9 and even at the lowest price point were very good. I will definitely return here and bring friends because it’s a great spot to bring a group in east Atlanta.

This place has great food and awesome staff. I love the stuffed bell peppers, as well as all their tacos. I’ve never tried the burritos because I’m gluten free, but they always com out looking super delicious.

Overall food and drinks good. Service mixed bag. I’ll be back. Been there 3 times and liked food and drinks each time. 1. On this day started off fine. I was there working and had to take a call which is easier in car. So was going to provide my credit card or check out so they were ok with my leaving. Server disappeared for a bit so went to bar to give them info. Gave bartender my card and left. While in car saw my server, and I had a minute, so went back in. She waved my card. As I approached table she was picking up my chips and queso and said bartender told her I wanted to check out. «No, no, I will just be in car taking a call. I will be coming back.» She made no effort to return the chips and queso or even apologize for picking them up. I said, «Can I keep my drink?» She said Yes. BTW, I had put a napkin over the top which is the universal signal for… I’ll be back. 2. Can see what’s coming next. When I come out of car my table is empty. Mind you, the place was 10% full. Now I understand issues can happen but when I get back and look at my server and say«Im back» she says«Hold on» and goes inside. I figure she might have put my drink on ice while I was gone… great! I’ve had that happen before elsewhere. Nope, another server comes out and says«I hear you want a drink?» No mention of my previous drink… nothing. When I mention I had a partial drink and was in car, he says«yeah, we thought you left». No apology. No offer to give me a third of a glass or something… nothing. BEFORE I left I asked server is she would be there for at least 30 minutes. I did that to see if I needed to tip her out or not before going to car. She said«yes». So I indicated I’d be gone about 30 min. I get that stuff happens but not even a «Yo man, sorry bout that. My bad.» A refresher would have made much more sense to be honest. 3. Unfortunately next piece was the worst for the business. Table of ~1520 – 30 yr old black males/females came in. Pushed few tables together outside and sat down. I overheard servers discussing whether would be good idea to require a credit card up front. They decided«yes». Oops, bad idea. Table got visibly upset. Said«No». Got up and all left. Ordered zero.

I came here during lunch and the server has nice. They have a health grade of 84, so I was a bit leery. I ate here anyway. The chips and salsa aren’t free, so if you’re accustomed to that, this isn’t the place for you. I ordered the chicken chimichanga, which is my normal order at any Mexican or tex-mex joint. The waiter suggested that I get it with all three sauces(verde, queso, red). I’m used to just queso but I figured when in Rome. Long story short, it was gross. The chicken isn’t shredded, it’s chunky. The green sauce was just really, really strange. I asked for no corn(bc no that doesn’t go in a chimi) and they did it anyway. The waiter was nice and sent it back, but I told him I didn’t want it redone. Definitely won’t be back.

Great patio in Kirkwood that is dog friendly! Quick friendly service. Chimichurri tacos are the best in the A!

I enjoyed the outdoor seating due to the very nice weather that day. The food was more Americanized«Mexican» food with hardly any flavor. I had to douse my food in habanero sauce just for some kick. The prices were pretty high up for the lackluster food. Basically this restaurant is Willy’s Mexicana Grill with higher prices. The service was a little slow considering the fact there were not a lot of people there. I won’t be going back.

I’m a fan of Elmyriachi no longer. And this bums me out because the food and drinks are really good, but egads, the service is awful. It’s so awful that I no longer want to experience it. Service has never been that great at the tables and at the bar it’s non-existent because it’s all people who know the bartender so they struggle to service customers while talking to their friends about the minutia of their lives. I’ve seen this phenomenon with four different bartenders so I know it’s not a fluke. Elmyriachi has also changed the entrance and I waited a few minutes for a hostess who never came(until a group walked up behind me and I passed the hostess on her way out to greet them.) I eventually seated myself at the bar which had the lackadaisical service that it always has. Maybe the problem with service is that the staff is constantly changing. There are only two people I’ve seen working here since my first visit. The bar staff has been different every time. I really wonder what this high turnover is all about. It doesn’t seem to be the usual restaurant/bar situation. I’ll miss the pork tacos with fresh radish and pickled onions and the turkey chorizo(*sigh*) and the drinks of the day(double *sigh*) but not enough to brave the staff here.

Lenwood Crumb here and I sure do enjoy Elmyriachi! My roommate Norman and I come here and split a pitcher of Margaritas. It’s a simple joy that I allow myself to have on the weekends that my ex wife Ida is watching our boy. It’s a fine place to relax and they have a great patio which isn’t too close to the road and that is great for me because Ida doesn’t like it when I drink because tequila makes me want a ciggy and she doesn’t want me smelling like smoke around our boy even though I am a grown man who can make his own decisions and she should have no say over my actions especially since SHE is the one who filed for divorce in the first place. I digress. I would rave about their menu but I order the same thing every time(the Baja Shrimp Tacos are just wonderful). Keep up the great work!

The food is great! I had the tacos, and a taco salad. I got the salad togo and I am glad they separated it so it wouldn’t get soggy. The Taco salad was so fresh and it was just delicious! I picked this place to have with my co-workers and everyone kept asking«Where did you pick this food up from???». So safe to say, it is worth a try.

Great service from a lady sporting some pretty awesome tattoos. I had pork and brisket BBQ tacos. The BBQ sauce was really good and the meat is well smoked. I wish the menu was a little more extensive but all in all I thought it was good. The service was probably the best part with 2 servers being really kind to my dog(I have a 90 pound doberman mix) and just my server being awesome.

This place gets a Grammy award for best location, and best outdoor dining. The restaurant is a gem in the heart of Kirkwood! They have heat lamps glowing on the patio. It’s cozy! The drinks. The appear to be ok. I ordered a classic margarita. Nothing to brag about. The food, well — it’s filling. But not what you may find in La Raza. It’s unique. The service is unblemished. Try it for yourself. Start with a cocktail or brew and work your way up the ladder.

My friends and I decided to pop in here on a Wednesday to grab a quick bite. I’ve been going to Elmyr for a while and decided to check out their sister restaurant. It definitely has a different(but good!) atmosphere. I started off with a delicious grapefruit margarita and my friends all got different ones that looked equally good. The food came out pretty quick. I got the smoked pork tacos that came with rice and refried beans and they were delicious! Our server was really nice and accommodating. Very glad we made a stop in here. If not for the food, then for the margaritas. Will definitely be back!

Who doesn’t want to sit on a beautiful patio and enjoy a ridiculously warm December afternoon in a cute little neighborhood? Well I decided to stop by this place because I’ve passed it one too many times to not check out what they have to offer and I must say I had a really great experience. Super chill vibe here and decided to enjoy some sun on the huge patio. I settled on queso(because that’s what your suppose to do once you arrive at a Mexican restaurant), a margarita(which was good but for whatever reason I picked on with grapefruit juice so it was a bit tart), and the chimicuri tacos with pulled chicken which were delish! Our waitress was cool and I’m glad she advised me to try those tacos because they were just sooooo good. The tacos came with rice and beans so for the price you pay, you’ll leave feeling pretty full. I’m sure I’ll stop in again

I’d been with friends, but I was happy Elmyriachi held up for a full family meal! I had the still delicious old standby Hazedilla, while my husband enjoyed the Gringo Burrito. There were easy and affordable choices for both of my kids, as well. The red salsa has a delicious, complex flavor and the chips kept on coming!

Hurray for dogs on the patio! We went here after puppy class and this place worked out well for us. We didn’t want anything heavy so we split a waiter recommendation: the Thai chicken burrito. Just as she predicted, the burrito didn’t feel heavy, but it had plenty of flavor and I didn’t feel wanting. We ordered some chips and dip too. The chips were very crispy and light. Queso and salsa were nothing to write home about. I’ll try the guac next time. I left my credit card here and came back the next day. They were nice enough to keep it at the bar and didn’t tip themselves an exorbitant amount.

My friend and I were here on Friday night for dinner. Nice Mexican spot in the Kirkwood neighborhood. Plenty of parking and large patio packed with couples, families, and groups of friends. Though the sun was setting, it was 90 degrees outside and I was secretly relieved that there was no seating available outside. So my friend and I sat inside. It was quite a kid friendly spot but most of the families were wrapping up as we got seated. A little disappointed that it took ten minutes for a server to even come over and give us menus. Another ten minutes to order our drinks. Once the server came, she apologized for the slow service. I asked her whether the classic or organic margarita was better. She had a great response… organic goes down easy like water but the classic is strong and more like a slow sipper. I chose the organic margarita and it was very easy to drink and delicious! We also ordered queso. Does life get more enjoyable than queso and margaritas? I could have this on a daily basis. Our server then took our dinner entrée orders and informed us that the kitchen was behind and it would take 25 minutes for our food to come. She apologized and said she would happily bring us more chips/dip and drinks in the meantime. Despite the wait for our food, the server was great and helpful in telling us about the various food and drinks options. I ordered the Baja shrimp tacos and my friend ordered the smoked pork tacos. I enjoyed my meal and she did too. This is definitely a place I would love to grab margaritas and queso but not sure I would do dinner given the long kitchen wait time when they are busy.

Don’t think of this as three stars. Think of it as a very enthusiastic 3.5 stars. The food here is good. It’s not going to knock your socks off. For that, you want El Progreso over on Boulevard, which is a simple, no frills taco stand in the back of a grocery store. But the food at Elmyriachi is well-flavored and will sate your craving for Mexican if you want table service and/or booze with your meal. I go for the tacos verde dish, which comes with refried beans and rice. The sides are only serviceable, which unfortunately, is pretty common at Mexican restaurants. I’ve had refried beans and rice that I would devour as a meal unto itself. So although I’m not surprised, I’m always a little disappointed when I come across pedestrian rice and beans. Anyway, moving on to the tacos. They’re pretty good. The first time I got the dish, I got one chicken and one steak. And now that’s just kind of my default. The steak taco has a kick to it, while the other has tender, moist chicken. The portions of meat are good. My only complaint is that the tortillas can be a little greasy, although I appreciate that they fry them a bit to give a slight crunch. The beer list is small but includes some fun options. The other main component of their menu is burritos, of which I’m not a huge fan. I simply prefer tacos over burritos, but considering they have some interesting options, I’ll have to check them out sometime. Service is good. Bathrooms are clean. Parking seems to be sufficient but I haven’t been during peak times. Elmyriachi is definitely on my list for Mexican-when-BuHi-is-just-too-faaaaaaar-and-also-I-want-a-beer.

For whatever reason I thought Elmyriachi was going to be a sushi restaurant before I went in for the first time. Probably because: A) I still don’t know how to pronounce the name. B) Doesn’t look like a stereotypical Mexican influenced restaurant. Am I seriously the only one?! lol Anyways, I really love this place! Great, unique, well seasoned food! I’ve had the Taco Salad. All the calories with some veggies mixed in. Had it with the Cilantro Lime dressing. Topped with toasted flour tortilla strips. And nixed the black olives because ew. But, salad was flipping YUMM! I also highly recommend the tampiqueno burrito. Lots of cheese, spiciness, juicy steak and love goes into that wopping 5 pounder! Okay, so it probably doesn’t weigh 5 lbs, but it will make you feel like you have a food baby in your belly! And I did since I ate the whole thing! Stellar service! Kid friendly! Highchairs and small kids menu. Also, has a creative, punk-rock, great selection of music, and welcoming feel. Has the best cactus art outside… I believe created by local artist«sQuishiepuss». And, the pièce de résistance is the rockin’ outside seating! There’s plenty of seating covered by the awning and some tables partial to the sun with umbrellas. Great view of the street and adorable Kirkwood village. Elmyri – I still can’t pronounce it, is bitchin’ to say the least!

This place is great. Consistently good food and drinks. I really love love love the jalapeño margarita. I had the Hermanas burrito over a bed of lettuce. Yum yum yum! This is a fantastic place to go if you are a vegetarian, lots of options. And did I mention how unique and delicious the jalapeño margarita is?!? Only giving it a 4 star vs 5 because I reserve 5 stars for chef driven places and menus. And another huge perk for this place is the patio is dog friendly! Great spot.

Came here with a friend last Saturday with a friend. It was my first time, but he frequents it. Came in for a late lunch — there were a decent number of people there, but still several open tables. We got attended to pretty quickly, and our orders came relatively quickly(except my friend asked the waiter for a lemon for his water a couple times, and never actually got it). I got a steak fajita burrito and he got a taco salad with some chorizo on the side. We also got some house chips and salsa. I’m used to those coming with the meal, but we had to pay for them here. And they weren’t particularly special either. We both really liked out food though, and they were good sized servings.
