Lainey Papageorge is the BEST! I first met her a year ago when I wanted to have a very sentimental ring reset. After spending a lengthly amount of time with me discussing my tastes and what I thought I might like, she came up with the perfect design. About a year later I found myself with some family heirlooms in settings I would never wear. So with all these disparate stones I went to see Lainey. Again she spent so much time trying to figure out what I would like. I didn’t know. She finally came up with the genius idea to make stacking rings that would bring all the disparity together in a fantastic, clean modern design. I love the rings and can wear them in any combination –one ring or two daily and for big events all three together. Not only did my stones get repurposed, I got a fabulous one of a kind piece of jewelry from a very gifted designer. The best part of all is I got a new friend along with fantastic jewelry. My husband went to her studio before Christmas and bought me a beautiful pair of Tahitian Pearl earrings. Elaina Designs has become a family affair that I am thrilled with. If you have never been to a private jeweler, don’t be intimidated. You will never meet a more creative, gifted jewelry designer that will make you so comfortable and design that special one of a kind piece that you never imagined you would have.

I was introduced to Lainey by a friend who has excellent taste for accessories that are both elegant and unique. My initial goal was to have custom rings made for each of my daughters, featuring Tanzanite stones acquired on a family trip and accentuated with small diamonds recovered from other family pieces. Lainey spent an hour with each girl, asking questions and listening to stories and ideas about what the rings would mean to each of them. The result: two stunning rings as individual as my daughters, incorporating their visions into Lainey’s own distinctive designs. I was so delighted by the experience that I asked Lainey to embark on the same process with me, repurposing some heirloom gems that were especially precious to me into a new piece that I could wear instead of keeping in a box. I don’t know how she does it,(it is akin to some sort of alchemy or magic), but she captured perfectly my own style and the spirit of the relationship I had with my parents… life and love and grace so elegantly captured in metal and stone.
