Dwight Owens, MD

I have been seeing Dr. Owens for a little over 2 yrs now. I appreciate who he is and his honesty. There has not been a time that I have had to wait or made to feel uncomfortable. He is very attentive, and he wasn’t in a hurry to medicate me either. He wanted to get to the root of the problem first. I appreciate the staff as well.

Dwight Owens never seemed to have a genuine concern for my well-​being the whole time I attended his practice. Apart from never looking at me he would never really seem bothered about what I had to say. He would only ask me polite questions and try to act social when student doctors were present. Any other time he would be asking me text book questions just to check the boxes if you know what I mean. He kinda seemed fake to me.
I originally went to his practice to get anxiety medication I started taking when I was in university to help me concentrate on my work, I wasn’t depressed, thought suicidal thoughts or anything. I have always been a happy person and enjoy life. After a second opinion from another professional I was told Dwight Owens wrongly diagnosed me with Bi-​Polar disorder. Since then I stopped taking my medication I had been taking since school and also the very highly priced Abilify Dr Owens put put me on, I haven’t felt better since I came off that crap. Now I’m not taking medication I have no need to see Dr Owens any more.
Since stopping going I haven’t received one phone call from his practice asking why I missed my appointments and stopped going to see him. More reason for me to believe he doesn’t really care about his patients. Its all about the money… when he tries to sell you his new book you will see exactly what I mean. So really I’m better off without going there where I was out of pocket $ 200+ each month, not to mention not having to wait two hours to see him whenever I had an appointment.
Oh, and dont even think about sniffing, coughing or sneezing in the waiting room, youl be asked to leave promptly by one of his assistants.
Overall my experience when going to see Dr Owens was never really pleasant or constructive, and I wouldn’t recommend him to any friends if they needed a Doctor

My first time visiting the doctor, I waited over two hours past my appointment time in a room while listening to the doctor make personal calls, to then finally be told by the doctor himself that he refused to see me. Was horrified at how horrible I was treated and probably having to dispute their claim as they said they are charging me anyway despite not providing me with any service. I highly recommend trying to find other doctors first. I was looking for someone soon and got a next day appointment… when all other doctors had a 3 – 4 week wait. Maybe I am not the only client he’s treated so poorly if his schedule is so open.
