O.k., so Carolyn’s has improved on the service tremendously, so I’m a happy camper. Also, they have NOTCLOSED. They simply moved across 14th Street to the One Atlantic Center building at 1201 W. Peachtree Street.

The curly fries were good… =/ The buffalo chicken wrap was lackluster, kind of salty. The chicken breast is like shaved deli meat, so it’s not very… Filling? Or perhaps I should say not worth the price tag. I think $ 5 would be more fitting.

Any place that offers Curly Fries and Onion rings as an option gets my highest vote. Plus they are on Scout Mob at the time of this review so you get 50% off! Its conveniently located close to where i work at Apache Café and they have killer daily deals! Parking is kind of scarce though. Ironically there is a big sign paint on the side of the building that says TURNHERETOPARK but a little sign that says ONEWAY do not park. You have to make a left on 14th then a right before the Starbucks if you are coming down Peachtree towards the restaurant.

Went on a Scoutmob and enjoyed our visit. Had an early dinner after work, so no crowds to contend with. But service was pleasant, and our food was good. Standard bar-fare, but tasty(chicken club sandwich and buffalo chicken sandwich). I’d come back.

Very cheap drinks. Food was average. The bar crowd was… Interesting… And a little rowdy. The dining area was empty at 5 pm on a Saturday. The place is fairly clean and is nice when they open the front on beautiful day. Fun place for cheap beers but would not recommend for a date.

2nd time here. Great service. Good food. Mike is the man! Both times my girlfriend and I have split the steakhouse burger, both times it’s been excellent!(great happy hour specials also!!) $ 2 dollar shots and they’re actually tasty. Awesome sweet potato fries also. Though it is more of a sports bar /pub rather than a café.

Carolyn’s Gourmet is one of my go-to’s for catering lunches at work. They are always professional, expedient, and the food is terrific. Yesterday was no exception — I called to check on my order and realized I had made a huge mistake — Carolyn’s was able to accommodate me and correct my error at the last minute and get our lunch delivered in record time! Thanks Carolyn’s!!!

Came to the door and saw the«come in, we’re open sign.». I checked the hours on Unilocal just to be sure. I try to open the door, and the door is locked. I knock, and nobody comes. Yeah, ok.

Boyfriend took me here a couple times during this lunch break when I was in the area, and it was two different experiences. The first time, I LOVED it, but the second time, it didn’t hit me the same way the first time did. I ordered the BBQ chicken pizza and it seemed very inconsistent from the first time to second time. Boyfriend loves the place though and it’s a relatively close by walk. We drove the first time since it was raining, and I advise you to enter through the side on 14th street to get to the designated parking spaces. If you enter from W Peachtree Street, there is a ginormous down hill that is not always car friendly. I was not pleasantly happy driving my car through it or out of it matter of fact. Parking is limited so if you can walk from your office nearby, that’s suggested.

Wow. I’ve driven by this place hundreds of times and never thought to try it. But that changed when my friend and I were looking for a quick lunch. Carolyn’s is pretty good!(And they’re pretty quick.) I had a personal-sized cheese pizza. It was filling, and simple, and good. Plenty of hot, melty cheese. There’s healthy stuff on the menu too, like salads and wraps.(There are also regular specials in case you get a wild hair or something.) And there are lots of hungry corporate folks who come in to enjoy it. This place gets busy quick. While they’re there, the corporates might also grab a whoopie pie. I did not grab a whoopie pie. I figured a single-sized cheese pizza was bad enough for me. But if you get a whoopie pie, please tell me how it is, so I can live vicariously through your experiences. Carolyn’s also has a bar. I did not have a drink at Carolyn’s. But I could have. Maybe next time I will. Holler if you’re coming with.

All was fine at this place until something happened that wasn’t addressed… We’re hungover. We need food. We drive by and decide to pull in and get our fix. We take a seat at the bar and watch football as we’re hydrating ourselves with water. I order nachos. My buddy gets a burger. The food is decent. I’m eating away… Then, I notice this oh so bitty spider crawling around my plate on the bar. It’s the same color as the bar paint and soon it disappears. Could this mofo have crawled inside my plate and blended into a dark nacho. Okay, so I’m grossed out but I’m already at the end of my meal. To add salt to the wound I find an ant crawling inside my napkin where my utensils were packaged together. Now I’m freaking out. I’m not one to make a scene. I don’t want anything free. I show it to the our wait staff who appears to be the owner or someone who manages the place. He brushes the situation off. Not even an apology! WTH? I get that behind the scenes there can be a bunch of crap that goes on but what you don’t see or know won’t hurt you. I got to watch this ant crawl around inside my napkin. Ewww… So gross.

I don’t write many one star reviews, I’m a pretty easy customer. Before this one, I wrote four out of one hundred seventy one reviews. This place deserves it though, and it’s for service which is also out of character for me as I usually overlook crappy service if I like everything else. Carolyn’s is the closest bar and grill to the hotel that I’m staying in so naturally it only took me a few days to check it out. I wanted dinner and a few beers after work. They serve Yuengling on tap and the food is pretty good albeit not«gourmet», but I can overlook that. As I write this review, I should have already spent hundreds of dollars at this place just because it’s so close. However, that never happened. I showed up and ordered a Yuengling and asked to see a menu. The barkeep asked me if I wanted to run a tab on a credit card. I told him that I was going to pay with cash and showed him a $ 100 note. I expanded that he could keep the note and cash me out when I was done if he preferred. He didn’t like that idea and told me I would have to pay for every item individually. Whatever, I didn’t really care. I gave him the note when he gave me my first beer with the menu and he brought me back eighteen $ 5 notes and five $ 1 notes. Then he leans over me and says«Now do you want to start that credit card tab?» That’s where the stars dropped to one. This meathead was teaching me a lesson for not using my credit card. I told him no and showed him that this strip club stack wouldn’t fit in my wallet. «Well we don’t have twenties dude!» was his reply. I guess he didn’t have tens either. I did learn a lesson from this rocket surgeon, not to come here ever again. I don’t roll with $ 100 notes to be annoying, it’s called per diem and I don’t choose how I get it. Bars are usually the best places to break them and I’ve never had a problem at any other bar in this area. I also warned every other person that I work with about the one barkeep in ATL who hates cash. He probably didn’t deserve the 20% tip I left for him, but I didn’t want to become an ass to match my company.

I went here with my mom and we used Scoutmob. I was pleasantly surprised. It was a Tuesday night so there weren’t many patrons, but the food and service were good! We sat on the front patio and had a nice dinner. They had Woodchuck cider which is always a plus and a full bar. The southwestern egg rolls were delish, as was the burger. I’ll definitely get those again. Can’t wait to come back and watch some games here.

I tried to find a way for 3, but this place deserves 2 stars. Decent food, decent service, devious scoutmob schedule, no signature steak burger at lunch, awful potatoe salad. Perks: location, $.50 chips & $ 10 bud light buckets. USC Gamecock bar.

Nothing special, kind of a let down when you see the sign saying GOURMET you might as I did think it was going to be some great sandwich. One thing I didnt like was the tables were dirty and sticky like they have never been cleaned… the edges look like the imprints from someones skin pressed into the wood… NASTY… The good things, it was fast, the food was average and the parking was not to hard to manage.

Honestly, Carolyn’s is somewhere around a 2.5. I entered from the back entrance, so the first thing I saw was the counter and an un-manned register. Walking towards the front, I spotted what looked like menus and went to grab one, only to have a guy tell me that was for catering. Regular menu is ‘up there’(meaning on the board above the spot where you order) or the printed sheet of paper with really little printing. I decided on their version of a Reuben(which I think is called the Conqueror). Ordered my sandwich, selected potato salad as my side, reached for my wallet and was told to meet the guy ‘down this way’. at the un-manned register. Not a bad experience. just kinda weird and a little like maybe newbies are a pain in the ass or something. I grabbed a seat while waiting for my food and was annoyed to find that the table was sticky. You know that kind of sticky that comes from years of being wiped down, but never really cleaned? Yeah. like that. I reached over to see if the table next to me was the same way, and it was. No sense moving around if all the tables are the kind you really don’t want to touch.(I’m not saying the place is dirty. it wasn’t. I just have a thing about tables that are tacky in that way.) The sandwich was okay. Nothing spectacular. If I were to get it again, I’d leave off the spicy mustard which completely overwhelmed all the other flavors. The potato salad was okay as well, but I think I counted a grand total of 6 cubes of potatoes.(Your side comes in one of those little plastic cups most places use for you to self-serve your catsup.) So, yeah. It was okay. Not bad. Not great. I would try it again if I was in a pinch, but I wouldn’t go out of my way.

Made a return visit to Carolyn’s last week to meet another friend who works nearby. Definitely a step up from my initial visit! We went right in smack lunch hour and still got quick service. I went for a different sandwich this time, the Determination, and it was great! Toasted bread, grilled chicken, lettuce, tomato, mayo with melted provolone. Very generous size. My friend had picked it off the menu, and I followed his lead — definitely pleased! I love how their sandwiches have names like«Determination,» «Positive Attitude»(which is next on my list to try — ham, turkey, swiss, bacon, multiple slices of bread and honey mustard — sounds yum!), and the like. Sandwiches come with your choice of side(pasta salad, etc) or you can add chips($ 0.50) or fries($ 1.50). Parking is kind of a pain– the lot in back is awfully tight, but then again it is at the corner of 14th St and W. Peachtree, so what else would you expect?! Prices are reasonable and the menu has a nicely wide range. As a solid go-to spot for a work-day lunch, I’m now a fan of Carolyn’s.

Sandwiches AND they have a bar?! Count me in! This is definitely a nice alternative to Rising Roll across the street, even though their turkey sandwich is slightly subpar by comparison. Fortunately, they have a huge menu of tasty delights that I can try(and no one called me an asshole). It’s just turkey on white bread some some pickles. Of course, I probably could have made special requests. Apparently they have free pizza on Friday’s in the afternoon. The only requirement is that order a bar drink. AYCE pizza as long as I’m drinking?! Again, count me in! #Yelp365 — 65⁄365
