Four courts in good shape with good nets and working lights. Most of the cracks are in good repair although one court has a somewhat significant crack. I like that the nets have center straps to provide the proper net height. Candler Park is one of the few public courts in the area with a practice wall; this one is two-sided concrete block and is enclosed by separate fencing. Some courtside benches would be nice. There are some outside the fences, but none for the players. Plenty of parking down at the park but we usually find street parking on Callan Circle right next to the courts.

4 free hard-surface courts + a backboard for personal hitting. But the real star of the show is the lights. THEYWORK! That’s more than most other public courts can say, especially at this time of the year when it’s dark at 5:30pm. Nets are in good condition. In terms of cracks, there’s a couple of long, identical cracks width-wise across the courts. But nothing you’ll get too tripped up on. There’s parking nearby but the lighting along the walkway and in the parking lot isn’t great, so I highly recommend the buddy system.

4 nice courts in a beautiful park near my girlfriend’s place? Heck yeah, buddy! The courts and nets are in good condition, though the net height seems higher when I serve than when my girlfriend serves(its wildly annoying.) It gets busy during the weekend so show up while most people are eating breakfast.

Um, heck yes. Free tennis courts in good condition in running distance from mi casa. Have I mentioned how much I love living where I live?! The courts are in good condition, with only one crack that I noticed: an impressive feat on red clay foundation. They’re surrounded by the lovely neighborhood and, er, park of Candler Park, so while you’re getting your swing on you’ll be treated to children’s laughter from the playground and nearby church bells. A breeze may come by ever so often, but the vast majority of these courts are in direct sun so be prepared. I’ll be back, early and often. There are 4 courts so I’d expect a wait on weekends.

Disregard my former review about the nets because they redid them! Yay! Now I don’t have to worry about whether or not a serve was really a ‘let.’ Candler has 4 courts located in a beautiful park. For free courts, this is almost as good as it gets(with the exception of Grant Park). As of late, Candler is where I have been playing the most. A lot of exceptional players hit there as it is evidently a popular place among fellow Atlantans. They also have a ‘back board’ that you can hit against if you don’t have a partner to play and wanna practice. Bottom line, if you live in Atlanta and are just getting in to tennis or have been playing for 20 years like me, check these courts out. It is hard to beat free, good courts with a beautiful setting.

Pros about these courts: no fee, pretty good lights, good surfacing with few cracks. Cons: often crowded so you have to wait. avoid the court in the back under the oak tree — leaves and acorns.
