This once ICONIC restaurant is now but a memory. So long are the many versions of the Sambal Shrimp, Tuna TarTar and signature dishes such as the Duck with Duck Confit and Massaman Curry. The Tuesday night Martini night. It closed November 12.

I’ve only been here once but here’s what I found: Great service, love the ambiance, the menu is varied, and the food is amaaaaazzzinngg. The seared salmon dish I had was spot on! Can’t wait to go back to try more.

my friend and I dined here and she got food poisoning! That is horrendous to experience anywhere, but here is just unacceptable! They are not what they use to be, my dish was mediocre

I wish I could give this place more than two stars but I cant. Now, Ive only gone for happy hour and quick bites so my review is just based on that. During the week they have a five dollar wine and cocktail list which is ok. Bluepointe also has a discounted menu as well during happy hour. A couple of weeks ago I had a glass of wine and had sushi. There wasn’t anything wrong with the Spicy Tuna Roll and Eel Roll that I got but it just wasn’t special. Overall the word that I would use to describe Bluepointe is: Sterile. This place and the décor just reminds me of the 90’s and not in a good way. Its not modern and its not old enough to stand out. I am coming to the realization that although Buckhead is my hood, its time for me to move a little bit South.

I LOVE this restaurant. Yeap, it’s expensive and I’m not going to lie about it but what you get in exchange it’s worthy. The service is amaizing as crowded as the restaurant can get. The drinks are good(only tried their wine though) and the sushi is to kill for. One of the few places were the sushi is impecable. Will try the happy hour!

We had a wonderful experience! All of our food was delicious & service was excellent. We ordered the spider rolls, butter lettuce salad, filet, garlic mashed potatoes, coconut curry lobster, ice cream & sorbet, molten cake. We will definitely be back.

I have been to Bluepointe several times since they first opened, after a pretty bad experience there, I gave them a two year break. However when a Dine-Around card arrived in the mail a few weeks go, I decided to give them another chance. I met a friend there for dinner on a Wednesday evening and was so pleased that I went back that Saturday with another friend. Ambiance was really nice — a little ticked that I had to ask the waitress not to seat us in the back when there was plenty of seating available in the front(Seems to be where all the 50 – 60 somethings are sent — Which I AM not) Service was very good — wait staff knew the menu and offered good suggestions. Highlights Edamame instead of bread — two thumbs up!(The hips agree) Kobe Beef Ishiyaki Appetizer — Melt in your mouth goodness! Peanut Crusted Group — Perfection! The Massaman curry was out of this world! Soy Seasoned Buttery Cod — The cod was prepared perfectly — definitely one of my very favorite dishes! So flaky and the coconut rice that accompanied it was a perfect companion. Seared Scallops — Very good — although the sushi rice cake they came on top of was a little to hard for my liking. Looking forward to many return trips.

We’ve been here once before but decided to go back since Nalley keeps sending us $ 25 Buckhead life gift cards(NOT complaining. keep ‘em coming!). We had the pork potstickers for our appetizer and they were surprisingly good and flavorful. I’ve never had potstickers this yummy before! My sister got the soy seasoned buttery cod. She had it last time as well and fell in love with it. This dish is incredibly savory and its served over a seasoned bed of rice. I had the volcano roll which was pretty good(but nothing out of this world) and was fairly priced at $ 11. D had the crispy duck steak(which a lot of people seem to be raving about!) and it literally left him speechless. The duck was absolutely tender and served over a delicious panang curry sauce. He was really glad he chose this over the garlic noodles he was originally considering! Overall, it’s a really pricey place(dinner for 3 came out to $ 85!). good for special occasions and celebrations. We unfortunately stuck out in that restaurant as it was full of mostly Caucasians in their 40s, 50s, and 60s. And for the second time, they sat us in the back! Its really not a place where young people go.

I was skeptical after looking at the online menu. I am not a foodie/“enjoy” type of eater. I did it only because I wanted to humor my family and Coast couldn’t seat us. First of all, the edamame was a great diversion from the usual bread you get at a restaurant to placate hungry diners. I wasn’t too full to eat a salad, entrée and dessert. The portions are reasonable. We had a party of five, and we all got a different salad. I loved the salad with walnuts and blue cheese(Mom got that) and my cousins got a great calamari salad. My father got sweet and sour pork – the sauce was great. My mother got flounder, one cousin got grouper, I can’t remember what the other one got and I had noodles with shrimp. Again, food outstanding and portions reasonable. The desserts were great. We each got something different – not the usual key lime pie stuff you get at restaurants featuring seafood. Mom got the chocolate lava cake.yum. My only complaint: The restrooms. They’re divided by a mirrored wall and you can hear everything in the other restroom. I was a little concerned, because I thought I walked into the wrong place and I went back outside to check.

Ok so despite the obvious watch show that happens on tuesday nights, to avoid as a respectable women who is too old for all the kiddos and older men combos set up, anyother night this is a great dinner spot. The food here is great, and the dressy classy atmosphere I am a fan of. Get a nice table in the back have some champagne and relax bc nothing on this menu is not great. I love the sushi, and never leave without getting the molten lava cake… ahhh soo good but soo bad.

Amazing cocktails, but sub-par everything else. had a couple martinis(dry and the 4-berry one was amaaazing) and some cosmos. Then we ordered sushi, sashimi, tuna tartare, shimp(multiple ways), potstickers, kobe sliders and soup. The food was. oook. Nothing great, definitely nothing solely worth those prices. The potstickers were good(but pretty standard compared to your grocery-version). The coconut soup was pretty gross. I love thai food and I love coconut soup, so I was pretty sad to see this runny, un-spiced, sour concoction with ½ piece of chicken and paper-thin mushrooms in it. it was pretty disgusting, im sorry. I have heard that service is flawless, but not tonight. Our waitress took forever to bring everything, brought us the wrong food, tried to convince us that it was what we ordered, didn’t give us enough chopsticks and plates for everyone… took 4 times for her to bring us water and so on. I also tried going in through the wrong door(I didn’t know, it was a clear door that looked like a main entrance) and saw one of the waiters snoozing in front of it. not exactly professional. A sad 3 stars. Too bad, im usually way more star-giving when I get drunk. Sorry, I wouldn’t pay to come here unless they get their act together.

A Bluepointe haiku: Tuesday is tramp night But the food is really great– Asian fusion fun

The décor seems outdated, like 1990’s contemporary, but well-kept. There’s a bar to the left of the entrance. Private rooms and restrooms are upstairs to the right of the entrance. They have great service, timely service. I appreciate the manager coming over and greeting us. It’s pretty customary at these kinds of restaurants, but he seemed very genuine when he thanked us for our visit. Surprisingly for a Wednesday evening, the place was very busy. From the outside the restaurant seemed closed; the sign was not lit, and according to the valet dude, it’s never been lit the three years he’s been here. I had no idea what to expect in terms of cuisine. It turns out this place is mainly Asian fusion. I’m usually not very fond of Asian fusion because most of the time it’s a bunch of mediocre food. Well, the food here is very good and I enjoyed its presentation, which is probably 90% what I’m paying for here. Bluepointe offers complimentary edamame sprinkled with seasalt. We had hamachi as appetizers. I thought it was very good, but had a scary price. I ordered Snake River rainbow trout. When the main dish came, I was hesitant it would fill me up(bc this girl can eat). However, the dish was very filling and I savored every bit of the butternut squash dumpling that came with the dish. It basically had the texture of gnocchi but has the nice subtle butternut squash flavor. The crowd here is a very interesting mixture, from businessmen, blue-haired, betties, to me. I went to Bluepointe last night prepared for an average dining experienced based on several reviews I’d read on Unilocal.Despite this, the restaurant exceeded my expectations and I ended up really liking this place. Bluepointe is a Buckhead Life restaurant located in the bottom level of the cool-looking Pinnacle building across from Phipps Plaza. They serve high-end American fare and sushi. Their dinner menu is very Asian influenced. Appetizers included«Hanoi» spring rolls, pork potstickers, «Siu Mai» shrimp dumplings, «Lemongrass» shrimp, Thai chicken coconut soup(tom kha gai), and Cantonese steam buns. Ha, you can probably get the authentic versions of these on Buford Highway for a quarter to half the cost, but then again, you are paying for the ambiance and service here. I stayed away from most of the outwardly Asian dishes and went with: Hamachi slices — thin slices of hamachi with jalapeño, Sriracha, and hot sesame oil Snake River rainbow trout — served with butternut squash dumplings, chanterelles, cider-soy brown butter vinaigrette, and slivered almonds and bacon Crispy duck steak — served in panang curry, savoy cabbage, and duck confit We started off with a complimentary dish of edamame spinkled with sea salt. I was recommended the hamachi slices by a coworker. When the hamachi was served, we were also given complimentary pieces of shrimp in Thai peanut sauce. Very nice of the staff to extend these to us as not everyone gets them. Each piece of hamachi was thinly sliced and had a slice of chive, jalapeño, and a drop of Sriracha sauce on top. They were soaking in sesame oil. Each bite was delicate and melted in my mouth. The hamachi was fresh. Our server asked if we would like to share the main entrees and if so, the chef could split the portions half-and-half on our own separate plates for us. Nice. Both dishes were great. I ordered the duck medium-rare. The skin was slightly crispy, the meat was tender, and the panang curry was nice and creamy. All of this was sitting on top of chopped cabbage. Very yummy. The trout was also excellent. There were slices of bacon and shiitake mushrooms on top. I loved the fish skin(intact and barely charred) and the butternut squash(soft and chewy). All in all, two flavorful dishes and a great meal. Adequate portion sizes. Service was very good. I counted at least seven different employees that attended to us throughout the night. The manager was very courteous. Like the other Buckhead Life restaurants, Bluepointe uses Eagle Parking for their valet service($ 2 + tip). When you leave your car, just enter the revolving doors and make your way down the stairs to the restaurant. I think BP has a picturesque multi-leveled interior. The restaurant has glass walls with over one-story high curtains facing Peachtree, stylish bar and booths, etc. My only complaint is that the ambiance can be a bit stuffy. For a Wednesday night, the place was busy. Reservations recommended(I booked through OpenTable). Be sure to check out my Local Photos for pictures of the food and space.

My husband and I came here for a catered event a few weeks back. First off, it sucks that valet parking isn’t free — this is one of my biggest pet peeves. I hate when restaurants ONLY offer valet parking and then make you pay for it! Especially for a restaurant that costs as much as this one does. We arrived a little bit late so we missed a few appetizers /sushi platters but from what we did get to eat(shrimp dumplings, sushi platters, octopus, etc), it wasn’t too impressive. The sushi was nothing special and not well wrapped. The service could have been better. We thought of staying and ordering a bit more after the event but didn’t feel like it would be worth the money. I’m sure this place would be decent on an expense account but if you’re paying for it yourself, I’d advise you to go elsewhere for sushi.

This place isn’t bad at all. In fact, I really enjoyed myself here… possibly because of the large quantities of booze :) But the food is good too. I have to be honest, I’m not a sushi guy, but these guys made it easy for me to eat. And that’s both good and bad. Most of the sushi tasted like the California Rolls — which isn’t sushi at all. So although I personally liked it, a «true» Sushi fan might find this run-of-the-mill. I loved the Kobe beef strips that you cook yourself. Great stuff(when mixed with the salt and sauce). And a cool idea too. I’ve added pictures to go with this review. Overall I would go back to this place often if I lived in the area. It’s not amazing, but it’s good enough.

I’ve been wanting to go here for a minute, and since I had the gift card from buckhead resturant group, i decdied to treat my 22 year old daughter to some real sushi. Upon entering the place, I discovered this is a place for thin people. Not that I’m huge or anything like that, but it just seems the kinda place where thin is IN and pleasantly plump is overlooked and ignored. I will admit that our server was pleasant and efficient, but the sushi really tasted FISHY. Not sure if that’s because it sooooo fresh or uh oh am I gonna be sick later. The best part(besided the quality time with my daughter) was the Gold Digger martini. Now those everyone must try.

This is a nice enough restaurant, thought it is a bit over-hyped. There is a nice bar area, which gets a lot of attention. I was there on a Tuesday, and the bar was pretty dead, but I can see that it would be a great place on a weekend. The food was very good, and the wine selection was solid. The prices were a bit steep for the depth of the food, but everything was very well executed. The selection on the menu was pretty wide, but it is definitely a trendy menu. I was with a party of 8, and we ordered a lot of appetizers; most of them were a bit more flamboyant than they needed to be, and I would have preferred the food to be a bit more complicated with a simpler presentation. Overall, well worth it for a nice dinner, but if you are not into super-trendy spots, it may not be your scene! Update: I went back there a few weeks ago with some friends from out-of-town who were staying at a nearby hotel. The place’s billing as an ultra-hot bar on weekend evenings was a bit overblown. The bar was fairly quiet, and we didn’t see anything that necessarily justified the price. In the end, I think the reputation on this place is backwards: great place to eat(if a little expensive), but the bar scene is just so-so.

Normally, esp. based on the other reviews, I’d never bother coming here. But I had one of those $ 30 «Dine Around» gift cards and I never let these go to waste — this month’s was Bluepointe. And lucky for us, both my friend & I each had the $ 30 gift card and they said both of us could use it as long as we did separate checks. They have a pretty good sushi & appetizer list — I decided to order sushi since they call themselves a sushi & Asian fusion restaurant. I got the rainbow sushi roll(BBQ eel, salmon, tuna, yellowtail, avocado) which was pretty good — all their rolls are reasonably priced($ 11). For entrée, I ordered the Alaskan halibut with artichokes. Unfortunately, the dish turned out to be pretty boring(compared to what I read in their menu), and definitely not worth $ 28(yes, $ 28). My friend ordered the peanut crusted grouper in masaman curry with boy choy, which I thought tasted pretty good but had way too many peanuts … but honestly, not worth the $ 28 either. Yes, the entrees are way overpriced here. For dessert, we ordered their chocolate molten cake with pistachio ice cream. We unanimously agreed the dessert was the best part of our meal. Great presentation, too. Highly doubt there would be a next time — except if I were to get another $ 30 gift card to Bluepointe, in which case I’d order just the sushi/appetizers & desserts.

I was lured there a few years ago with this«FREEDRINK» cards handed to me over at Jack Rabbits. I am a down to Earth person who is not at all pretentious so I am going to speak for myself and say that this place is perfect for Gold Diggers looking for a sugga daddy. Most females at the bar are scoping out the area trying to figure out who’s suit is not from The Men’s Warehouse, or who was the man who drove in in the Maseratti. The sushi is great and the drinks too. The place is ery well decorated and I even went on a date there 3 years back and had a great time… However, for outings and Happy Hours, I would rather got to Tavern. At least the Bartenders do tricks. I prefer not to be come here unless is a birthday party for a friend. Too many prosti-whores and Eastern Europeans inmgrant chics looking for a free meal or a green card thru marriage. For a fact I know 3 or 4 that were not even 19 and were waiting for Sugga Daddy types to offer them an Apple Tini… Can’t blame the girls for wanting to stay in the Country, but… to each its own
