This place is alright. Too hyped up from ppl for no reason.(Probably their own ppl) not many choices in menu. Absolutely nothing available if your vegetarian.

Expect amazing food from this hole-in-the-wall kind of place! My friend took me here to try out their food and I’m totally in love with this place. The café is next to the market and is extremely small(like the size of a bed room). There is a table for 4 and a table for 2 and that’s all the seating there is. Definitely much better option to plan for take out rather than plan to dine-in. I ordered the mixed biryani that had an assortment of meat in it. It came with a small salad on the side as well. This was about 9 dollars but I was able to eat leftovers for another meal(portions are big!). Also, don’t forget to try their samosa, they’re good!

We found this gem upon taking a wrong turn. This Indian food is certainly the best food for the cost(almost half the cost of typical ITP Indian food), it is very tasty and the Lassi is also one of the best in the city. There is not much room for eating inside, so I would plan to come here for take-out only. There is also an attached grocery that has some good items.

This is an amazing hole in the wall spot. It may not look like much but this place serves authentic AMAZING food! I had the chicken shawarma plate and chicken shawarma sandwich. The cooks are super nice and the atmosphere was lively. I wish I lived closer, I’d be a regular. I will be back!

This place is just amazing! Very tiny place it doesn’t really look like a place you want to take your first date to UNLESSYOUARE A FOODIE!!! :) Very tasty and their service is supreme!!! They are always trying to be flexible whatever you ask!!! Seating area: there are only three tables and they get very busy so it’s better to do take out. Normally, food gets prepped very fast; however, it’s definitely better to call in. If you want to eat in, expect to see a lot of people standing next to you or even sharing your table. Must try: Haha this is definitely subjective as I love veggies! Chicken shawarma salad and salmon salad is amazing! If you are meat a lover, you must try Grilled lamb and chicken tikka! FYI, I didn’t really like butter chicken Please, note that it’s more expensive if you order directly from Unilocal. It’s cheaper to call and order. Anyways, it’s a tiny place but you won’t regret trying out this place as you will keep going back!!! Also, your wallet will be happy!

Almost want to prematurely give this a 5 star after my first try here. The lamb biryani was so good, I kept raving about it during my phone conversation. I was going to wait until my conversation was over to eat it but I took one bite and was hooked. The lamb schwarma was cut fresh when I ordered it. It’s mixed up in soft rice and has delicious spices. I added a spicy sauce to it and it was even better! I was surprised that samosas cost only a dollar for one! It is quite good but not fresh. I ordered and got it right away from where it sat under a heat lamp. It would be better if the batter was less thick, actually. However, for one dollar, it satisfied my potato craving. Would definitely come back. Parking spots, shared with grocery store, is more than the seating inside(2 tables for 4, and maybe a couple of bar stools).

Great first time lunch today, had a Gyro and Shwarma salad! The place was rocking with probably close to eight customers in the space of 10 minutes picking up takeout, one young lady at the counter and a nice family sitting in one of two booths available in the storefront. Great place, Great food, highly recommended!

This is one of those places that you would never voluntarily walk into unless of course Unilocal tells you to do so. To call this place a hole in the wall is an understatement. Not only is a tiny, nearly indistinguishable as a any sort of business(illegitimate or otherwise) moreover a restaurant from the outside, it’s looks like a bunker in a third world country. Putting all this aside, this place is great! You can order through Unilocal(Eat24), the food is made right there by two cooks who somehow fit in the tiny kitchen(think ship in a bottle type scenario). Food is flavorful, well prepared and done quickly. Obviously my recommendation would be to get it to go, although you could eat at the one table inside the restaurant(not sure why anyone would ever do that). Very much recommend this joint as a go to spot to grab food to go…

Hole in the wall but great food. This place only has two tables to sit, so the seating is limited. But don’t let the appearance of this place turn you away, just try something from the menu and decide for yourself. They have wraps, curries, rice, biryani etc.

I read many great reviews about this joint. I was craving gyro and reviews said this place has great gyro. I swung by one day for lunch. It is definitely a hidden gem; hole in the wall. Parking lot is ugly. The restaurant is super small and ugly BUT don’t let that deter you. The food is great– I loved my gyro. It was cooked just perfectly and assembled right. I will be back to try other things. The worker there was super sweet and friendly.

My 8 year old daughter was looking around determined to find the«hole“in the wall! She then asked me «Mommy, where is the hole?» The staff has to be the friendliest we have encountered in Atlanta. They were happy to let us sample meats and curry. We actually ate in. We enjoyed watching the steady stream of customers all stopping by for their favorite dish. There is something to be said for eating somewhere that some people would not even get out of their car! Life is short! Get out of your car!

A lot of people on Unilocal seem to indicate Bismillah Café is «…a hole in the wall.» — — –that may be true, but whew, allow me to add«…a hole in the wall … in the third world!» That said, the food here is quite delicious with fair prices and the staff were friendly and spoke good English on the day I was there. Bismillah Café has been getting a lot of Unilocaler love over the last several months and I finally decided to seek it out on a sweltering day in August. The tiny space is only cooled by an old, window-unit air conditioner and it doesn’t get too cool with the stove and fryers running full blast. The menus are typewritten papers shoved into the typical plastic menu holders. I chose three items and the chef presented me with one of their samosas while they worked on the items. I sat across from a guy who told me he had been getting food from Bismillah Café several times a week since he moved here. «Where did you move from,» I asked. «From the same place as them,» he said gesturing toward the cooks«…Bangladesh.» This affable fellow raved about the goat meat and how he likes to «suck the juice out the bones.» Ahem, I opted for some dishes I have become familiar with at Panahar(a few miles south of Bismillah) and other places. After about a 15-minute wait, My orders were ready and I was surprised and pleased they take credit cards. The chef carefully wrapped each entrée in separate bags, it seems that the stuffed styrofoam boxes have a tendency to spill out. In all we tried Chicken tikka masala Beef curry and Butter chicken Both the tikka and the curry meats were a bit dry but truly flavorful with a nice spicy kick… the meat in the Butter chicken was a bit dry and mealy as well, but that was offset by the sumptuous and rich gravy … this gravy easily had the caloric punch of an alfredo sauce but may have been more flavorful. Bismillah Café is just south of the Quick Trip and Latin Plaza on Buford Highway and across the street from the venerable Lee’s Bakery. Its likely you have driven past it since the parking lot and attached, larger Bismillah grocery are kind of an eyesore. Wikipedia indicates the name ‘Bismillah’ is shorthand for«In the name of God.»

Bismillah Café is a tiny restaurant on Buford Highway serving Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Bengali, and halal cuisine. The food is authentic, affordably priced, and delicious. This business is a true hole in the wall and a prime example of what makes Buford Highway great. Bismillah Café is in the same building as Bismillah Super Market(grocery store next door), located just north of the Buford Highway-Clairmont Road intersection and before QuikTrip, on the same side of the road. The building and parking lot are dumpy. The restaurant/café has a separate entrance from the supermarket. Its nondescript storefront and entrance are located on the far left when facing the front of the market. Seating inside consists of one booth for four, another for two, and a couple stools at the ordering counter. Outside, there are four two-top tables on the sidewalk, the wooden chairs a mish-mash of used, worn furniture. There’s also a random van bench seat. You could theoretically«dine-in» here with a small group, but seating is hard to come by during peak times. This place is divey to the max and primarily functions as a take-out joint. There is no restroom, but there is a sink. The compact open kitchen features two spits with rotating meats plus a deep fryer, stove, and flat-top griddle. The menu has a decent variety of food including appetizers like samosas, soups/stews(e.g. haleem, chatpati), wraps such as gyros and shawarmas, biryani rice plates, curry, and seafood(e.g. fried whole tilapia, rohu, and ilish/hilsa). You can order salad versions of several of the wraps, including beef kebabs, and the kitchen also serves burgers, fries, and wings. A small self-serve fridge with canned soda, bottled juices, and bottled water is located next to the counter. All food is served in/on Styrofoam boxes and plates with disposable plastic silverware. Samosas are $ 1 each. Wraps are anywhere from $ 4 – 7 each depending on size and combos. Biryani and curry dishes are $ 6 – 9 each depending on size. Most drinks cost a buck or less each. Credit cards are accepted(Visa, MasterCard, Discover). Some of Bismillah Café’s most popular and staff-recommended items include the samosas, gyro wrap, mutton biryani, and chicken tikka masala. All are terrific. The samosas are fried to order. I like Bismillah’s version because the pastries’ exteriors are lighter, thinner, crispier, and flakier when compared to the samosas at many other Desi restaurants. They have both meat samosas and veggie samosas. Admittedly, I don’t know what meat is in Bismillah’s meat samosas. It’s either beef, lamb, chicken, or a mixture of all three. The meat(s) are minced and cooked with onions, lentils, and a variety of savory spices. There’s a bottle of house samosa sauce(chutney, deep red/brown in color) floating around. I think the samosas are tasty enough on their own to not require much, if any, sauce. Watch out because these things are served hot and fresh from the fryer. I am impressed with Bismillah’s gyro meat. Sliced and served thin off the spit, the pieces of meat have an ever so slight appetizing and crisp outer texture to them. It’s like the slices of meat have been fried for an extra bit before they go into the wrap. Other ingredients include shredded lettuce, chopped tomato, and a healthy dousing of yogurt sauce all wrapped in soft, warm, pita bread from the market next door. The gyro here is outstanding and among the best I’ve tried in metro Atlanta. The meat is what shines brightest. The mutton biryani is fantastic. The slices of mutton are flavorful and succulent, no gaminess whatsoever. The basmati rice is fluffy, nicely spiced, and aromatic. The spice mixture includes cloves(there are little bits of clove in the rice) and I believe nutmeg and cardamom too. Other ingredients in the rice include fried shallots and fresh cilantro. There’s also a side of raw, chopped white onion, cucumber, and tomato. The chicken tikka masala is very good. It is one of several boneless meat dishes Bismillah serves which include chicken curry and fish curry. The chunks of chicken are lean, meaty, and sufficiently tender. I’m a big fan of the rich and creamy(also a little bit oily) chicken tikka masala sauce which is robust and flavorful. It’s just delectably mouthwatering and and goes great with both the chicken and accompanying side of lightly spiced(with cloves and other spices) basmati rice. Service is good. The staff I’ve encountered have been friendly and helpful. Orders are cooked up quick and in a reasonable amount of time when there’s a line. Overall, Bismillah is a solid choice when it comes to South Asian food in terms of price(excellent value), taste(comforting), and convenience(fast).

Actual hole in the wall. Tried a few things on the menu over the past few days and haven’t been disappointed yet. Not the cleanest place but I usually just take out and they’re pretty quick. I recommend the chicken Tikka masala(comes with rice) or the biryani. So good. Also, Unilocal has this listed as Indian but it’s actually Bengali.

This little café is attached to a halal grocery /market of the same name on Buford Highway, very close to Plaza Fiesta and Quick Trip. The parking lot is accessible from both Clairmont road and Buford Highway. The parking lot is somewhat dilapidated and there are usually African Cab Drivers hanging out outside smoking and talking. There is a strong unpleasant smell originating from one of the dumpsters off to the side; however, don’t let that deter you. This place truly is a hidden /tiny gem. There are only two booths inside(one for four people, the other for two) and two or three small tables outside. The menu is somewhat small /limited; however, the food here is great and inexpensive. There are several Indian /Pakstani /Bangladeshi /Persian dishes to choose from. So far I have only tried the chicken tikka masala and the gyro wrap. I am looking forward to trying some of the salads and biryani dishes I have seen others get here. I have only gotten my food to go(as opposed to dining in due to sparse seating options). One major plus is that they are open until 11pm. The owners /workers are very nice and friendly.

Very good Bangladeshi hole-in-the-wall type restaurant that serves all sorts of Biryani(rice with meat) and curry-type stuff, mainly for take-out with very limited seating option. Personally I love their Friday special«Chicken Roast with Pulao» which is a steal for $ 10 and their chicken samosas. The guys working there are genuinely helpful and friendly, salt of the earth, good bunch of guys. Check this place out!

Probably one of the more literal hole in the places that I’ve been to, especially in Atlanta. I usually get their biryani(fried rice) and hot wings… ha yea not the most authentic items, but still very good. I’ve definitely got plans to come back and try a curry of some sort. You can tell when you come here, you really are experiencing not only a restaurant but getting a glimpse of a community, just what you expect at a place like this. Guys here are also really friendly too.

After pulling into the parking lot my immediate thought was«is this really it?» I’ve eaten at many hole-in-the-walls, but this is up there with the best of them. As others have said, the inside is small, and I wouldn’t necessarily call it clean, but it’s not exactly dirty either. I stopped by about 2:30 on a Sunday and the(few) tables were full. I ordered tikka masala, to which the cooked asked if I wanted chicken tikka. He opened the oven and showed it to me and it looked great so I said that was fine. He still put the masala on top of the rice, I just don’t think he had enough gravy made to make a whole dish. The chicken tikka was fall-off-the-bone and well seasoned. It could have used a little lemon, but it was good without the lemon. The basmati was also very good, be weary of the cloves, cardamom pods and cinnamon bark still in there. The meat samosa was average. I surmised it had probably been made a while earlier and sat under the heat lamp. The wrap for the Samosa was that of an Asian spring roll rather than the fluffier tortilla style that is sometimes used. If you love Bengali and don’t mind a hole in the wall, this is your spot. Cheaper, faster and better than all the other Bengali places I’ve eaten at in the area.
