I enjoyed my burrito. I got the steak, and added cilantro and grilled onions. My only complaint is that they only have pinto beans(I’m a black bean fan). Chips and salsa were good. I’d definitely go back!

Nothing new here — just burritos. But Bell Street Burritos offer the best American-style burritos I have had the pleasure of tasting. My favorite is pork and green chiles. The restaurant is very clean. It gets pretty busy, but they’re quick. Tip: On Fridays they offer authentic, handmade Mexican tamales that are quite tasty. I hate to do it, but I had to take off one star because they’re closed on Sundays. It’s just stupid.

I’m usually not a burrito eater, but damn are these some good burritos. I’ve been to both locations, and this is the livelier of the bunch. Decent amount of parking(although Irwin St is a pain to drive on), good options to choose from, quick service, and ample seating. I have tried the pork and green chiles burrito and the chicken and broccoli. Both are outstanding! Out of the two, I choose the pork and green chiles. The flavor combination is just perfect and the green chilies flavor the burrito perfectly. I was curious about broccoli in a burrito so I tried it. It was very good, although lacked a little bit of umph to the flavor, which salsa cured. The only thing that both of us noticed about the burritos is the tortilla was a bit gummy so it would stick to the roof of your mouth or teeth as your bite into the burrito. Beyond the food, there is Cheerwine on tap and Grumpy Cat on the unsweet tea, which always adds a smile to your day. The seats are comfy, it can be quiet or loud depending on whose around you, but it’s definitely a great place to grab lunch. If you had a choice between waiting in that big ass line at Chipotle or coming here, do yourself a solid and come here instead. You’ll leave with a smile and full belly rather than irritated, fighting over parking.

They have Mexican Coke and Jarritos to drink, so that gave me a good feeling from the start. In the end I was a little bit disappointed. It’s a cool place, but to me the burritos were bland. The flavors are, for lack of a better term, correct, but everything is under-seasoned and lacking kick. I think this is probably an instance of someone knowing how to make great Mexican food but dialing down the spice to accord with Atlanta tastes. I’m having a really hard time dealing with how hard it is to find spicy food around here. Elmyr has better burritos, if you can get past the fact that they’re liberally seasoned with cigarette smoke. I like the complex that Bell Street is in, plus it’s in a cool part of town. It’s solid food, but for me it doesn’t really pop.

This place is kind of all over the map. I love the funky, homey feel of the Irwin Street market, so that was a plus before I even arrived. I was walking in and there was a puddle smelling of mold and sewage in front of the door that we had to walk around. No signs, no warnings, and no indication that anyone was worried about it. Ordering was quick and food was served before I could fill my drink cup — VERY impressive. The price for a burrito(no extras), chips and a drink was $ 9.00, more than I pay at Willie’s. The seating in the restaurant is kind of cramped for a large group. Then came the tasting — the gargantuan helping of chips SEEMED to be from a bag. They were the white corn restaurant style, almost too much like you get at Kroger for $ 2.00. And they were VERY salty. I’m not swearing that they were store-bought, but they gave that impression, especially with the dark specks that you get in Doritos and Tostitos. However, I LOVED the red salsa. It was pureed and smooth, with a nice kick and plenty of taste. With salsa that good, the chips just didn’t matter that much. There was also green tomatillo salsa, which I frankly could not taste after binging on the red. Someone else at my table was very pleased with it, though. Then came the burritos. They were ½ to 1 inch shorter than what you get at Willie’s and Moe’s(but since I was filled up on chips, I can’t complain). I started with chicken. It was probably the best«gringo» burrito I have ever eaten(Willie’s, Moe’s, Chipotle,…) — it had lots of seasoning and it was a joy to eat. One co-diner thought it was on the salty side, but to me, it just accentuated how bland some other burritos are by comparison. Although stuffed, I also tried a bite of a friend’s pork burrito leftovers and it was just as good, if not better. So, the important stuff was really excellent — the salsa and the burrito. We could have taken the food to a more comfortable eating spot elsewhere in the market. The price won’t kill me once in a while. The wonderful salsa made the quality of the chips irrelevant. And I’m pretty sure the toxic waste puddle with be gone by the time you read this. It’s definitely not Buford Highway, but if you have a special place in your heart for big fat burritos made by Americans, this needs to be on your«must try» list.

Great Green Chile Burritos. Best I’ve had since hatch New Mexico Tamala was good but not great.

Saw the Unilocal reviews and your self-indulging homepage and thought I’d hit the jackpot in authentic Mexican cuisine. No, I’m not a hater but when your name is burrito you need to be held to a higher standard. Just tried your pork AND steak burritos and both were just wraps filled with rice and beans. As the old Wendy’s commercials go, «WHERE’s DABEEF?» Not recommending your joint to anyone & won’t bother to give you a second chance. For $ 7, I’d rather go get a Chipotle burrito. Sad thing is my visiting Chicago buddy is a big Mexican foodie and says there are several joints just around his home that alone puts Atlanta’s «best» to shame. It is a shame.

These burritos need no add-ons like salsa they are that good! I had the veggie bean burrito with jalapenos and onions, ordered it to go, and forgot to pick up some salsa. Didn’t need to. Very good. Inside the décor is New York City subway, which must mean that the owner is from the city or something? But how bout some Atlanna pride? Because this taqueria is awesome!

What a great idea, delicious burritos directly on the beltline. I can think of no better idea when seeking a little redemption after a little too much fun on Sat night. A long walk or bike ride on the beltline coupled with a burrito and a lottafrutta. But wait… It isn’t open on Sunday? The busiest day on the beltline? The day I am in most need of a burrito? Wow, it must be nice to be able to afford to be closed on the what must be the busiest or second busiest day on the beltline. Please hear our cries great burrito gods. Please bless us with your bounty on Sunday. It is a 4 star place but deduct one for difficulty in obtaining said burrito on sunday.

There are restaurants where you can’t go wrong and then some where you can. Bell Street Burritos, as I have learned over my two visits, is one where you need to think about what you are ordering. My first visit, I decided to go simple: bean burrito, add sour cream. My mistake. It wasn’t bad by any means, but there was no ‘wow’ factor there. When I went last night, I learned through conversation with the man at the register — you need to beef up your choice with some add-ons. So, I went steak burrito with sour cream, spinach and red sauce. And the key: ask for it grilled. I feel like I should write it twice because it makes such a difference: ask for it grilled! MUCH Better. The service here is great — friendly, quick and I love the Irwin Street Market overall — plus(and this is a huge plus in my book) you can get there from the Beltline! No guilt for the extras piled on because you are walking them right back off.

The best part about the burritos is that they are huge. I also like the environment inside, and they have unlimited salsa. That being said, the burrito is only mediocre. For whatever reason, I can’t quite put my finger on what my main problem with it is. Overall, don’t avoid BSB, but don’t travel very far to eat here either.

For the price and what they offer, this place is as good as it gets. Way better than any of the chain burrito places you will find around town and in the suburbs. I love myself a good burrito and this place takes the cake. On my most recent visit, I had the chicken and broccoli burrito with all the free fixins, red sauce, and ordered it grilled(big difference, trust me!) These burritos are the size of small babies. I couldn’t stop eating because it was so good but after inhaling the burrito I was so full there was no way I would have been able to eat anything else(including chips and salsa). You will definitely get your money’s worth here!

Green Chile Burrito with Extra Cheese. Just the right level of spice and balance of ingredients. I love that they’re next to Jake’s Ice Cream now, really really convenient :)

Nice location in the Jake’s Ice Cream building on Irwin, at the end of the Belt line. Gotten food from here twice in the last 2 months. Not a fan. This time around, I ordered two«beef» tacos. It came back more like«onion» tacos with beef added. The beef was minimal and the onions pretty much took over. The beef was not cooked as you would expect. Looked like it was steamed. Tasted bland. Potato taco I asked in exchange, was much more delicious. Perhaps I caught them on a day when the grill was cold.

Let me first just say, these things are massive. Pair it with chips, 2 salsas, and a drink for $ 2.50 and you can be stuffed for ~$ 9.50. I had a chicken burrito with the hot salsa and all the free add-ins and it was far superior to Moe’s and Willy’s burritos, and on par with Chipotle and Qdoba. The meat was packed with flavor however, but it was advertised as a chicken burrito, not a specialty. But the real winner here: Cheerwine in the soda fountain.

If, like me, you still occasionally miss the greatness that was Tortilla’s on Ponce, I think you’ll fall in love with Bell Street Burritos. I was reminded very much of that great old establishment. Service was fast. Folks here were friendly. Opening up in the Irwin Street Market was a great decision. Totally casual, and totally delicious. They make burritos, tacos, quesadillas, nachos and the occasional salad. You pick your proteins, your veggies, your other stuff – cilantro, jalapeños and the like. Pile it on. Then wait a few minutes, and voilá!(Or maybe I should say ¡olé!) Tasty, tasty burrito! The beans in my burrito were fantastic.(This place is vegetarian friendly.) The chicken was tasty and had a really good texture. I had some guac in my burrito, but I very much want to try it by itself. Next time. Dang. I’m making myself hungry with writing this review. I’d better stop before I rampage through town like Godzilla in search of a burrito.

I’m pretty darn psyched about the Bell Street Burritos now open in O4W in the Irwin Street Market. I like to cram mine with lots of veggies — spinach, jalepenos, broccoli, salsa verde, and then chicken and I always get it grilled. They did an amazing job with the space. Irwin Street Market is funky but this is a great addition. Perfect for a quick casual post-gym meal, or an easy meal with friends.

The menu is pretty simple, but has lots of choices — burritos, tacos, quesadillas. I opted for the chicken and broccoli special(which is just them recommending to add broccoli) adding green sauce(medium heat) and cilantro. I considered jalapenos, but their pickled, whereas I prefer fresh. We also ordered a large guacamole and a children’s quesadilla for the little guy. The guacamole comes with salsa fresca on top, which is more of a tomato salad with thin slices of tomato and seasoning rather than a traditional pico de gallo of diced tomatoes, onions, jalapeño and cilantro. The guacamole was super fresh with huge chunks of avocado. Most of it went straight to the little guy, who doesn’t even bother with the chips. I didn’t eat many chips, trying to make up for the heavy holiday indulgence, but the few that I did eat were crisp and thin, not holding up to the chunky guacamole. As for the chicken burrito with broccoli — the broccoli was perfectly cooked. But the chicken, pintos, and(light on the) rice made for a slightly dry combination. We got a bottle of the green salsa for our table since frequent applications were needed to combat the dryness. A few spoonfuls of the guacamole(when the little guy wasn’t looking) also helped. The space is bright and white, and the vibe is friendly and easy-going, so I’d try it again, but I’d go for something with no rice or beans. The burrito is a 3, but the guacamole, space, and vibe bumps it up to a 4.

I have read so many great reviews of Bell Street Burritos over the past year that it’s almost impossible to believe I hadn’t ever eaten there. I was super bummed when the Westside location closed, because I spend a bit of time on that side of town, but the new Irwin Street Market location is actually closer to my house, which is a bit of a mixed blessing. I stopped in last night to see(finally) what all the fuss was about. Having spent a lot of time reading their menu online, I had a pretty good idea what I wanted. I did, however, end up ordering two things and eating half of each, so I have another awesome meal awaiting me. Probably silly since burritos and quesadillas aren’t the greatest leftovers, but after a year of reading about their delicious beans and green chiles, I couldn’t resist. I ordered my food to go from the counter. Really simple set up, with the restaurant connected to the market. It looks like plenty of seating, although I was there after 8 p.m. so I can’t really say what it’s like during busier times. They don’t mind you wandering over to the market side to find a seat, though, as long as you bring your basket back, according to the sign I read while waiting for my order. My order included one chicken and green chile burrito with green salsa and one potato and guacamole quesadilla. I simply couldn’t resist the quesadilla after reading someone else’s review that mentioned they actually put the guac inside and grill it. They thoughtfully left the salsa fresca on the side of the quesadilla so it wouldn’t get mushy before I got home. Both the dishes were fantastic. I’m sure the burrito would be improved by eating it the minute it comes out of the kitchen, because the tortilla got a little steamed within its foil by the time I got home and unwrapped it. It was still delicious though. The beans are legit. I am pretty sure just beans would still be awesome as the chicken was the most forgettable part of the whole thing. The quesadilla was beyond amazing, although I would have wished for a little extra spice on the potatoes. Still, between the grilling of the tortilla outside and the cheese inside, it almost tasted like there was meat in this little carb-bomb that I created. Overall, great food, quick and easy service and not very expensive for the quality and size of what you get. Great stuff!

Finally, an inexpensive fast casual restaurant near Inman Park! I had a heavenly quesadilla, with an «extra»…a giant amount of guacamole inside the quesadilla instead on in a tiny container on the side… well done! It’s pretty hard to mess up a quesadilla, it’s cheese in between tortilla(though you would be surprised). I also got a small side of cheese dip… surprisingly larger than it first appears, and comes with a good sized bag of tortilla chips. All for under $ 10! There’s a small amount of seating, as Bell St Burrito is located on the left side when you enter, with Jakes Ice Cream to the right. There’s also a tiny parking lot, with weird corners and a couple spaces being taken up but a structure that is either storage or a dumpster.
