After 10 years in Atlanta I finally found a Senegalese restaurant! Authentic Senegalese food made by and how only a true Senegalese can! Uummmm did I mention they are from Senegal? HA! What I was graving for so long has been fulfilled today! I had my favorite dish called Thiebou Djenne, this is a signature dish of Senegal. It consists of fish, rice 2 ways, veggies and the most incredible spices. They also make one with lamb called Yapp. Today was the red rice with the palm oil. Yummy! My goodness. Tomorrow will be a white/yellow rice. The dish is the same, they just rotate ingredients slightly every other day. This was so amazing I am actually going back tomorrow. I’m really serious! It was soooo good. The man that took my order was very nice and we chatted while he prepared my dish. Restaurant is super clean and I plan to not just take food to go but to simply sit down one day and take it all in. This is exactly what I was wanting and will be my once a week spot. I can’t wait to surprise my hubby with it! Yup! I went back today like I said I would! OMG so delicious! I’m hooked!

This place is a complete rip off… went there twice after a long day in the office. drove 2 hours in a nightmare atl traffic and got disappointment on both times… first time tonnes of rice without fish… second time maffe gravy that can feed a whole village without a piece of meat and a huge bone… really?Do I look like a stupid person after graduating from 1 of the most prestigious university in the states… I was so furious that I end up throwing the dishes in the garbage cuz it def show a lack of respect from the owner to his guests and I m assuming he only cares about the money that comes in… even more shocking that the guy has 25 years in the food industry and should cater to his guests to his best ability… so glad I saw the early signs knowing that I was about to recommend this place to cater the food for the Christmas office party cuz every 1 of my co worker wanted to try senegalese food… been to so many senegalese restau(Africa…Djoloff)and always had great experiences along with American friends but this place def will be the worst 1 i ve been to… won t certainly go back

Dined there last night and had another wonderful meal of seafood with vegetables and rice! Words cannot describe how awesome the meal was!!! Enjoyed several delicious home made drinks of sorrel, pineapple and ginger. The best dining on the south side of Atlanta!

All I can say is this place is as authentic as it gets! We were the only ones in the restaurant on a saturday at noon(they had just opened I think) and we came in with no expectations and no experience of Senegalese food before. Our plates were customized with a variety of things available in trays at the front. $ 12/plate. We had super crunchy senalagese rice(similar looking to vietnamese broke rice) that seemed to be the crunchy part at the bottom of the rice cooker. We got okra stew over rice with a cows foot. The plate had an interesting undertone of bleu cheese and game-y-ness. The smell was very strong. The cow foot was interesting, just a lot of cartilage. Mountain of rice on both plates. Only vegetables were olives, corn, raisins, and peas mixed into the rice. Lamb was super juicy(not gamey smelling at all) and fell off the meat chunk. It was very easy to pull using a spoon. Very methodical server and allowed us to try some samples of the food Owners daughter was very hospitable and genuinely interested in how we enjoyed the food. Left with a restaurant made boyue fruit smoothie. Bf said it tastes like candy. Smells like fruity pebbles. Tastes slightly tart. Reminds me of cherimoya. Not classic smoothie taste like what you get at jamba juice. More like a yogurt drink. They make a ginger pineapple drink and hibiscus-like drink fresh every two days. Overall it was a wonderful experience. We got to try things that we’ve never gotten to try before. The price wasn’t so bad for the amount of food that we got and the food was very filling. We plan on coming back in the future to try their dinner menu.

The food is great, but the mistake the owners made is to have a cook that serves as a cashier and server, but with a terrible customer service attitude. I always spend a lot of money when I visit, but because of that person, they’ve lost me as a customer.

My husband is from Senegal and we were visiting Atlanta from Florida so we were definitely jumping on the opportunity to get some Senegalese food while we were here. We went on a friday at around noon time and the only dish that was available was the traditional rice and fish dish. It was cold and a bit salty. There was no traditional juices available as was listed on the menu, in fact the menu that was posted online was not available. Must say we were not pleased.

A perfect African southside jewel, authentic Senegalese cuisine. Went for my birthday. The owner was very friendly and a great cook. Food was fresh and flavorful especially the Dibi Khar — fresh grilled lamb chops and pieces served with a tangy onion Dijon sauce wrapped in butcher paper. Also try the Mafe, Lamb and veggies served with rice(make sure to get the Jollof)! The restaurant did not have air conditioning which was a bit distracting, but the food made it all worth it. Can’t wait to taste the Plazass — spinach, Cassava leaves, roasted lamb, cow feet, smoked catfish, cooked in a rich African Palm oil!!! Will be back:)
