I have been eating at the East Cobb location for years and recently had the pleasure of eating at this new location. As usual the food was delicious. I have tried just about every item on the menu and have never been disappointed. The food is fresh and is always delicious. My favorites are the fried chicken, country fried steak and beef brisket. Highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for good southern cooking or just good food in general. We get Baked carryout just about every week. Great food, large portions and great service. Big fan! Will definitely be back.

Nice little spot here, good food and cheap prices. Had the fried pork chops with fries and Mac and cheese. The fries were great and the Mac and cheese was different but good. Overall this a solid spot! A++

Yum! We first stopped by here for lunch on a bike ride during their first week. It is just off the Freedom Parkway, so great to walk or bike to. The service is personal and friendly – the waiter recognized us on our second visit months later. The food is just as it says – down home comfort food. Love the shrimp and grits with andouille sausage. The fried okra is just right – light and crispy. My husband really liked the pork chops. Two things I would change if I could: take out the TV, and reduce the background noise – there is a constant mechanic humming sound. In spite of these details, I’m sure we’ll be back!

Everything here was so good. That’s why I keep coming back. The service is amazing with the friendliest staff. The atmosphere is fun, hip with a great view of the city. I’m so happy this place is here now. I had the pork chop and it was a 10⁄10!!! The gravy… yum!!! We met Scott, the owner, and he was so nice. It really shows his team puts their heart into the food and overall experience. I would tell everyone to come here. Oh yeah, there is a full bar with great drinks!!!

Food just as advertised: whole, fresh, lightly seasoned — very tasty! Ask for Kassim’s section(like the mayor). I asked for a slight substitution on the veggie platter and he & the chef were very accommodating. Free buffalo rolls were a little too salty for my taste, but very inventive.

Fantastic food that’s fresh and flavorful. The buffalo chicken appetizers and the pork belly tacos are to die for! The best part of the experience was the exceptional customer service. Chelsea was our waitress and she was an absolute doll! We also had the pleasure of being assisted by Scott who was equally as pleasant. Do yourself a favor and check them out!

My wife and I came here because we got the Scoutmob deal, and we were very impressed with every part of the meal. We had the pork tacos for an appetizer, and for entrees we got the country fried steak and the fried chicken. Everything was amazing! We plan to come back here even without the Scoutmob deal.

I found this place on Unilocal’s list of hot and new restaurants. You can find street parking pretty easily because it is near some residential areas. My friend and I checked in to redeem their free appetizer offer. Generally they only allow one offer per table, but they let both of us redeem our offers for the chicken buffalo pot stickers. Thanks guys! For their entrees, you have to look for the fine text if you want sides. Some dishes like the shrimp and grits and fish and chips don’t come with sides. I ended up getting the fried chicken because I wanted to try their brussel sprouts and roasted sweet potatoes. I liked the fried chicken because the outside was really crispy, but the brussel sprouts and sweet potatoes were meh. I think the brussel sprouts could be better if it was roasted, what I got felt like boiled brussel sprouts(almost soggy). I also didn’t really enjoy the sweet potatoes because it was too sweet. The smell of honey/sweetner they used was overwhelming and it was just a sensory overload. I was imaging some plain old sweet potatoes just roasted in the oven without all the other seasonings. I will say, service here was great. The staff kept coming back to check how we were doing and asked for our feedback. Knowing that this place is fairly new and still trying to improve, I’d probably come back to give it another try.

OK, the food is good — really good. I had the Mojo Flank Steak it’s flavorful, moist. The veggies done just right. I hope they get some of the other stuff up to speed though. First, we waited for a really long time at the front before anyone sat us, almost left, they weren’t busy, there were three staff people, but don’t leave the front of the house unattended. The server was helpful and friendly. There was a whole thing on being charged refills for ice tea, that we had trouble with(See my friend Michael D.‘s review for more on that.) I really have issues with the décor though. It feels like that went to a restaurant designer and they were just given the standard lofty/intown trendy package, the restaurant could just as easily be serving Asian, Latin, anything. I’ve seen this restaurant décor a dozen times in Atlanta. Edison Bulbs — really? can’t that trend be over please. Chicken baskets for lampshades, oh clever, I guess that’s what makes it a southern comfort food restaurant. Artwork? Nice photos, nicely professional shot and styled on the wall of food — but makes me feel like I’m in a fast food restaurant. I even commented to the server, it felt like they were desperately trying to come up with a fast-food concept to franchise. The high open space is challenging, the motor running on the ice machine in the back was sort of annoying. If they’re really going for Southern Comfort Food, I think they got the menu nailed. But I think the décor should have as much thought. I’m not talking about putting kitsch and country crafts on shelves, or hay bales in the corner. But there has to be a way to do thoughtful, modern, with a nod to southern roots. Maybe ladder back chairs in fun colors. Like you could put quilts on the walls, but there are some great southern artists that do incredible art quilts these days. Ditch the acid green. Find a cool color inspired by southern food, beet red, mash potato white walls, Finally as a designer, what’s with the logo, the restaurant is «Baked» but you show a fry pan?

FOOD: 3⁄5 My friend and I decided to come here for dinner tonight since we saw that this was a relatively new restaurant in the area and the menu looked pretty good. Don’t forget to check in on Unilocal — you get a free buffalo chicken egg roll app! I ordered the lemon and garlic baked chicken with the mac and cheese & brussels sprouts sides. Most of the entrees come with two sides that you can choose, except for the shrimp and grits and fish and chips. The buffalo chicken egg rolls were probably actually my favorite of the night. The rest of the food was just okay. The chicken tasted like chicken(nothing too special), and the skin was nice and juicy with the lemon/garlic flavor. The mac and cheese was pretty bland and not very cheesy at all(see picture). I’d consider myself a mac and cheese enthusiast, so I’ve had my fair share, and this just wasn’t doing it for me unfortunately. The brussels sprouts were decent, but again a little bland and nothing too memorable. Portion sizes overall were good though and I left the restaurant feeling very satisfied. SERVICE: 5⁄5 Our server came to check on us several times during the meal to see how we were doing and filled our waters and was very attentive overall. The manager(maybe?) also came over just to say hello and to make sure we were enjoying our meals. The meal was enjoyed, but just was not spectacular in my opinion.

We had a very unusual experience. We were charged for refills on iced tea. Iced tea is $ 1.95/glass at Baked. There were only two of us, so being charged for 6 iced teas rather than two, we thought unusual. When we asked our server about it, she said that she had never questioned that policy of charging for refills because they had always done it that way at the E, Cobb location. So we paid $ 11.70 for iced tea. My dinner entrée was only $ 11.95. As we were leaving I saw the sign advertising they were doing Sunday brunch. I turned around and asked the other server on duty and the bartender if I came for brunch, would I be charged for refills on coffee. She said yes. I made the point of saying that beside having worked in hospitality for 20 years of my life plus having done a fair amount of dining out, that I had never heard of any place in the South charging for iced tea refills. Yep, yep, yep, they charge for refills. But we were assured that they would take it up with management. Then the bartender holds up one of the menus and says, «Well it say right here on the menu that we proudly provide complimentary refills on iced tea and fountain drinks.» It says you get free refills. Both servers swore that this was news to them and our server swore, again, that in the E. Cobb location they’d always charged for refills. But guys, the menu says you give free refills. WTF? Our server did not offer to fix the check. She said there was nothing she could do. Which is not true. The check could have been fixed or voided and re-rung. We tell them that when you charge me six times for something I should have been charged twice for, not only are you nickel-and-diming me, you are stealing from me and that because you are lying to me and stealing from me, I won’t be back. When we got outside, our server comes running after us to try to hand us some cash that she had folded over in her hand, again saying that she always charged for refills but didn’t want us to leave unhappy, I told her to have management call me instead, as I had given the other server my name and number when she asked for it. I have no tolerance for unethical behavior and this is unethical. And the damned shame is that the food is very good.

Y’all. Let’s be real. O4W gets a lot of hype and not everything down here can stand up to it. Baked is well worth the hype. Their menu isn’t overwhelming and portions are so spot on for the price point. Great cocktails and tasty morsels. I will be back.

Went last night with my husband. It was a Sunday night and was pretty empty. I had the pecan crusted tilapia with Brussels sprouts and sweet potatoes. My husband had the baked chicken and green beans. My tilapia was not good. It’s rare that I can’t finish a piece of fish, but there was something not right about the taste. Not sure if it was the fish or the coating. The sweet potatoes were good and the Brussels sprouts were a little oily but were tender and fresh. My husband enjoyed his food though thought the beans were pretty greasy. Like others have said, maybe they just need to get some more time under their belt. I also know that next time I won’t order the tilapia.

Finally checked this spot out that is literally right across the street(somewhat), and I was not disappointed. I will admit that I would often see the name, «Baked,» and assumed it was pastries and whatnot and I kept pushing. I finally went to their website and liked the concept so I walked over. They consider themselves a healthy living soul food place. Most items on the menu have vegetarian ratings, gluten free ratings, or both… I am neither but I guess many people het down like that these days. Ingredients are locally sources and etc as well. I was on a mission for some soup on this windy cold day, so I tried their Soup of the Day. The soup was a tomato basil and it was made from scratch in house and it hit the spot. As I finished that I was brought my roasted beef brisket with a side of french fries and a house salad. The fries I was told were fried in olive oil… either way they were fairly bomb. The salad did what salads do and it was super fresh. The brisket was cooked just right but the portion was HUGE… but you know I was leaving with a doggy bag, so I had to get that job done. The only mishap was the young man manning the floor refilling my Sprite with water, but we got that fixed quickly and he apologized. I will be back to Baked.

Growing pains, yes. They did not have all the ingredients for the drink I ordered off the menu. Despite that setback, Scott the owner went to great lengths to make the drink that I wanted. We also got a complimentary crunchy, gooey, delicious buffalo chicken eggroll appetizer. Superb service more than made up for any delay or inconvenience. Other staff were quite friendly and professional as well. Definitely worth it to stop by and check out.

This place definitely has some growing pains. It took a long time to get 2 sandwiches and we were the only table eating. Tons of Zifty drivers and to-go orders plus a catering order delayed us. When Scott, the manager came to check on us, he apologized profusely and gave us a Crack Bar dessert. Very impressed with that. Yummy food to boot… we’ll be back. Buffalo chicken egg rolls, I’m coming for you.

I have eaten here three times, twice for lunch and once for dinner. Although they are onto something, they’re not there just yet. The first time I had lunch the salad was fresh and full of tasty chicken. The second time, however, the chicken was sparse and skinny; but the lettuce was still fresh. The third time I had company. We ate dinner. The green beans looked appetizing but we’re a little waxy. The sweet potatoes were tasty but barely warm. The tilapia was good but there was a slight hint of having been frozen maybe. My dinner guest had no complaints. I haven’t given up yet because the restaurant is so new. Go and try them out for size. See what you think.

I Iive in the o4w and have been waiting for a place like this for awhile. Nothing fancy, just a place that has good food and I can easily pick up on the way home. This is perfect. I had their buffalo chicken egg rolls(awesome) and their house salad. Can’t wait to go back and try some of their sides.

Our first time here and we were greeted by a super friendly staff. We had the option to sit wherever we wanted. Our server, JJ, was very attentive, polite, professional, knowledgeable, and caring. Scott the owner even made a special appearance to our table and filled us in on the awesome things coming soon to this location. The food is amazing! Perfect portions. We had the Buffalo egg rolls and boneless pork chop. Both I highly recommend! We will definitely be back again and again.

We have been really excited for Baked to open in the Old Fourth Ward, and this week it’s doors are opened! The inside is an awesome mix of industrial, exposed tall ceilings with bright, clean, happy colors and birch trim with retro-atom-inspired light fixtures over the bar, I love it! The service was extremely friendly and welcoming. The menu has a variety of indulgences and delicious healthy options. You can mix it up with the sides, because all entrees come with your choice of 2 sides, which is an extremely good deal compared to similar restaurants in Inman Park and Old Fourth Ward. There’s a variety of red meat, fish, classic Southern dishes, and white meats. The sides are very generous, and the entrees are inspired traditional fare with unique twists. The Mojo steak is juicy and delicious, the brisket is the perfect fall-apart hunk of beef, and the pecan-crusted tilapia is the perfect light indulgence. As far as sides are concerned, you can’t beat the fried okra or the brussels sprouts. Definitely hit this place up for some comfort food, and they also deliver and do carry-out!
