Been to Backstage a few times with Hubby and we always had a good time and always felt safe. Me and Hubby are definitely from the old school and music fits perfect. Drinks are on point, but service is better at the Bar! Cover charge is fair, free before 10:00 I think. Will go Back soon!

Watched Thursday night football here… Possibly the worst service I’ve ever had… The kitchen was so behind they brought us free food and the server never took our drink order… DON’T EVERCOMEHERE

I enjoyed the«mature» crowd. Who said older folks don’t turn up. Extremely approachable and laid back crowd. Definition of non pretentious. Will definitely revisit when vintage ATL.

This is a great place. The crowd is older and mature. I came in on a Wednesday night around and 830 just to get out of the hotel. I gave them 4 stars simply because it was a bit cold inside and they didn’t have the heat on. Other than that if you are looking for a laid back place this is it.

So I’m here on a Sunday because of the band exclusive they had featured. The band had everyone on the floor and was the highlight of the night. The place was decorated nicely I suppose for the several birthday parties. Nice crowd, free entry and free buffet(I didn’t eat though it’s flu season!) The reason I can’t give higher than a 3 is due to the poor customer service from the bartender and even the«clean up» crew. I have a feeling he might’ve been something else but who cares. There’s potential but customer service is everything. Fix this and you may have a 4−5star rating!

I like this place! Ain’t nothing special about it. Just really grown mature crowd. Ladies are in there and the dranks are pouring, can’t ask for much more. It’s small and you really can’t walk in there, table and chairs everywhere. The drinks are reasonably priced and the food is good. I get the fish plates every time I go. I have been about 5 times and I have enjoyed myself every time. Also, I think the guy with the thick mustache is the owner or something, he walks around and shakes everyone hand, I like that! Also I have never paid a cover to get in this place so that is a huge thumbs up! Also free parking. It’s a great place to go to. I spend more here because I wasn’t charged an arm and leg to park and get in! I will be back soon.

During my visit, I enjoyed everything about this place other that when the music goes«too old.» Prices are fair. The women look beautiful. Just be careful to avoid parking in the larger lot across the street. Some hustlers try to associate themselves with the club about parking but are there just to make a quick buck. I never ate here so I cannot comment on the food. I always had a great time.

My friends invited me here on Thursday night to partake in crab legs and drinks. I was definitely pleasantly surprised. The crab legs were very well seasoned and the drinks were strong. The karaōke singers were good. There was some line dancing and Thursday night football was playing on the big screen. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and will be back.

My mom and her friends celebrated her birthday and they and I had such a great time. You can bring balloons in if you like and even a cake although we did not bring a cake. We did bring balloons so that was nice to have our own touch on our tables. Our server was great. She always made sure we had everything we needed even after we paid our bill. She didn’t just disappear. The crowd is 30 and over. Everyone was there to have a good time. The man politely ask you to dance. I had fish and grits which I liked. Just all around great service and a great time. Oh and they have a parking lot which is really nice because I don’t really like street parking. On Saturday get there early, about 9:30pm if you hope to get a table. Cover after 10pm.

BackStage Atlanta surprised me. They have a lot going on all week long. See; you never know what you’re missing until you take a look inside.

Friday night is the«free» night where there is no cover charge. I have visited this club on three occasions during my trips to the ATL(from the SF Bay ~ RAIDER Nation). My most recent visit was on 8÷24÷2012 and the club is «under new management» — whatever that means. I arrived very early with a group of 8. The tables are very small and the décor is very tacky, even for GA standards. The disco ball and strobe lighting effects are just past season(by 2 decades) and not very attractive. There is a 2 drink minimum, no problem. We had a great waitress named Anna and she visited our table quite often. My main gripe is that the music totally sucks. It too is 2 decades past season and line dancing is just, well, country — to say the least. The ratio of females to males is approx 24 to 1 ~ BORING!!! Trust and believe that if you want to dance, you will have the option of dancing alone or with another chica ~ I’m cool. The dance floor is ridiculously tiny and you will find yourself freak dancing by accident and circumstance. The club closes at 2 a.m. but my mind shuts down 10 minutes after walking in and my ADDHD sets in. On future visits to the ATL, I will pass on this country bumkin establishment and locate something more upscale.

Had a taste for some crab legs so I tried this place out due to a special. You get a special surprise, you have to buy 2 alcoholic beverages. Not an issue, just let a sista know. I could have been on a budget. Crab legs were ok, music and drinks were good.

I really enjoyed this place. It was smoke free, clean, dimly lit, and perfect for dancing your butt off. The DJ for Thursday nite is hilarious. She asked all the single men to line up, then requested the single women to pick which guy they wanted to dance with. My friend was quick to be the first in line. The DJ asked, «are you married? do you have kids?» Then she threw a bombshell: Do You Swallow?” In shock, my friend asked, «can you repeat the question?,» The DJ asked again, «Do you Swallow?» My friend stood with her mouth wide open, while we all were laughing as hard we could. Without any answer, the DJ said, yeah, she swallow, look at her mouth. OMG, was not expecting to laugh so hard. Ages and music vary– gotta love the 90s, and they don’t mind playing, finally someone understands me! Also, the majority seem to be 25 and up. I had a good time. I’m really shy, but it was comfortable enough for me to break it down and do the«hammer, and some ticking» lol, yes, I went waaay back I will be returning, probably no time soon though; I danced the majority of the time I was there and it took two freakin days for me to recover.

Even if you try as hard as you can NOT to be judgmental, lets face it folks –we are all judgmental in some way, form or fashion at least a few times(or more for some folks) in our lifetimes. To be honest, I avoided this place for the longest because of its location(Sits right at the intersection of Godby Rd and Old National), and I am mad that I haven’t been coming to this place all along. This has become one of my favorite spots to hang out as of lately. Hell I even choose it as location for a first date a few weeks ago. I do most of my partying at lounges and clubs during the weekdays(its cheaper and more relaxed that way), and usually its free to get in this place with free parking. The DJs always play an interesting mix of music, and there are a variety of things that go on in this place. You can catch a free comedy show on Wednesdays(between 10pm and 1pm) and its free!(Some folks bomb… but hey it’s free entertainment) But that’s not the only thing on a Wed. From 7pm –9pm the Class Act Steppers are there teaching beginners ballroom Chicago stepping(no partner required), then from 9pm till about 10:30pm there is mixed freestyle dancing along with a small beginners Line dancing instruction. On Thursdays it’s Karaōke with the sassy D.J. known as Cha-Cha, and you can catch a little line dancing in there on this day too(along with regular dancing). She is a jack of all trades! The waitresses are nice, the drinks are strong, and they have really good food(not just bar food), and it’s really nicely presented! Try the salads and the quesadillas… awesome. And if you don’t want any of that you can always get a classic dinner here such as baked chicken with a baked potato and a side of steamed vegetables… I am not sure how it is on the weekends because I have only came on one Sat, but even then it was free to get in and they didn’t charge for parking… see? If you don’t nickel and dime your customers before they even get in the actual establishment, they might actual spend MORE money than before! What a concept! I think this place used to be called 20 grand, and didn’t have the nice grown and sexy crowd that they have now… maybe that’s why I avoided it all these years… Oh and NOSMOKING allowed in this establishment –which I LOVE!

Upon first glance, we were impressed. It took less than a hour for the club/restaurant to become negatively transparent. Shiny new appearance… inadequate customer service. Once seated, 20 minutes passed before our drink order was taken, another 20 minutes passed before our food order was taken, an hour passed before our cocktails and food were delivered. The manager informed us of a problem concerning the register printer, however, no compensation was offered for the unusually long delay except to «treat us better next time», giving us a «too bad, so sad» attitude and then swiftly presenting us with the check. The two cocktails were $ 5.00 each. We would have felt compensated had they removed the two drinks from the grand total of the bill. It would slightly affect their bottom line, however they would have gained of two new customers who would return as well as recommend the establishment to others. The overall experience was fair and the customer service left much to be desired. We generally support businesses in our community. Backstage Restaurant & Lounge has lost our patronage. There will be no «next time».
