Beautiful little store. Very fine taste with everything from small accessories to large mirrors, chairs, lamps, and art. They fit a lot into the space, but that’s actually a blessing for there’s a certain amount of editing with what they display. It’s modern, but with an organic bent, with a number of lamps and objects made out of wood, coral, and raw crystal.

Cottage style with a shoreline twist. If you know furniture and housegoods, and you know quality fabrics, antiques and reproductions, and your looking for modern, cozy and fun, stop by this ladies place, conveniently located next to a coffee bar with ample parking in the rear. These ladies know how to mix the classic with the unusual, the Adler with the antlers, to help you create style — if not your own style. If those great books you see at Barnes and Noble on interior design are beautiful, but leave you wondering«how?» Stop in. They never seem to mind when I tip toe through gaulking and staring until I fill my creative head. They know I’ll be back and buy.

It’s the Home Emporium, and is aptly named such. One step into this tres chic Highlands shop and I’m in retail heaven. It makes me want to buy a house just so I can furnish it. Insane, yes, but so is the selection of fanciful furniture, soaps, candles, lamps and decorative pillows offered here. Their web site is cool, but doesn’t do their wares an ounce of justice. You just have to go and be wowed.
