We read the reviews for this place & decided to try it. Horrible! Worst curry chicken & rice & peas we’ve ever tasted. I wouldn’t go back or recommend it to anyone. Oh wait… the patties are decent.

Truly enjoy this spot for their Carrebiean food. The food is always hot and the customer service is good. I like the fact that this restaurant validate your parking.

Delicious, absolutely delicious! I love their meat pies and jerk chicken. I always get the beef meat pies, jerk chicken, spinach, and black eyed peas. The meat literally just falls off. The foods are spicy, but you can always ask to try it first before you put it on your plate to see if it’s at your spicy comfort level.

One of my favorite spots in Auburn Curb Market! A lot of the foods are spicy, but fret not, scared-by-spice(me)! There are still delicious options available here. I usually get the jerk goat, which is so delicious and perfectly falling off the bone. It is so flavorful and yummy! It has spices, but it’s not very spicy at all. I also love the plantains, but I’ve gotten them once at an odd hour, and they tasted stale and awful(so disappointing) so, next time, I might even ask when they were made. I also love their patties. The chicken one is curry, and it does have a little curry kick. I can eat a few bites at a time, but then I have to take a spice break. Beef patties are ground beef deliciousness. They’re $ 2 each, so getcha some!

At first I was skeptical because I’ve never associated Caribbean food with African but it turned out to be a really good restaurant. The curry chicken and goat are authentic, jollof rice delicious, the ox tail to die for and don’t forget fried plantain. Lately, I’ve been there so much the cashier now gives me a nod of recognition! I wish they would open another location closer to my home!

Pretty good meat dish. I got the curry chicken with steamed veggies and steamed cabbage. The other sides were too oily for me. The chicken was pretty good and cooked well. You get a meat and 2 sides for $ 9 something I believe. The portions was good as well as the price. The men who own it are Ghanaians who are very friendly and helpful. I would recommend a try.

Always wondered but never tried until today. Should have done it sooner! Amazing jerk chicken — not too spicy not too bland. Great rice and peas and beautiful plantains along with black eyed peas. All for $ 9 plus a bottle of Coke. It was enough food for lunch and a mid day snack. Highly recommended! Visit in the Sweet Auburn Market.

I finally tried this place as it’s been on my list of places to eat. Sigh… it was okay. The staff was friendly and gave plenty of food. The price was decent, but the food lacked flavor. I was slightly underwhelmed and have honestly had better. Will I visit here again? Probably not. Was it the worst thing ever? Nope, not at all. I guess I’ll continue to visit my other go to places to fulfill my craving.

Horrible. The people who are raving about this place are people who are not familiar with African or Caribbean cuisine. The jollof rice is lacking in flavor, real jollof is bursting with flavor. The curry goat was full of fat and bones. Not much edible there. The plaintains are deep fried and super dry. The black eyes peas were the best thing that I received. They actually tasted how the jollof should taste. And this I paid $ 10.68 for and didnt even get a «Thank you» and when I said«Your’e welcome» I received a look that could kill. You charge me $ 10.68 for sub par west african food and I couldnt even get common courtesty? No thanks! I will stick with African Fine Foods on Campbellton. Their food is GOOD!

One of the best Jerk Chicken in ATL. The meat falls off the bones with the slightest touch, from the top of my fork. They sure meet Jamaican standard, what I had in Negril, Jamaica. The spicy kick is just right. Very affordable $ 6.99, whereas most place would charge you $ 18. I’m ready for the oxtail next, if you are interested in the video of this i upload it to my ig refertheanh.

This was a delight and the first spot I tried in Atlanta(aside from the disappointing room service at the Hilton, if you count that). I had the oxtail – super tender and spiced just right – and the flavor of its gravy/sauce/broth/whatever you want to call it mixed in with the jollof rice is just one of those things that makes you wish you had an extra stomach. I had black eyed peas and fried plantains as my sides. The former wasn’t bad, but definitely the weakest part of the whole meal. The latter were spot-on. I also felt compelled to order a Jamaican beef patty, not because they’re an especially amazing culinary feat, but because I hadn’t had one for a long time, and that was pretty good. I washed everything down with a tasty ginger beer. Only as I was taking my last bites did I realize how carb-heavy my meal was, but that was my own fault. They had some other veggie sides. Oh well. I did feel pretty sleepy an hour later, but I can’t blame them for that. Overall, I was very pleased, and if I lived in Atlanta I could definitely see myself giving them frequent business! A colleague raved about the jerk chicken, and I see lots of other good reviews for it. I didn’t try it, but it looked wonderful.

Afrodish provides pretty good Caribbean food at a good price. I’ve only had the jerk chicken, but it has a great balance of flavor, not too hot, not too sweet. The sides are nice and seasoned well. I sometimes wish for a third piece of chicken, but you get a LOT of food for the price. The standard plate includes rice(usually 3 choices), two veggies, and your meat. If you luck out and get there near closing, they may toss you a little extra since they would trash it otherwise.

I went for the jerk chicken decent flavor and definitely moist. Great Sides to go with my cabbage and black eyed peas& rice for a decent price. I wouldn’t say authentic because Jerk chicken is supposed to be smoked or grilled not baked. Overall the market needs something extra besides food or more of a variety of foods.

I was visiting a friend doing his residency at Grady and he brought us to the Sweet Auburn Curb Market for lunch. There is a nice selection of places to choose from but AfroDish caught my eye. I went the jerk route and while many restaurants bland down their spices to appeal to a broader audience, AfroDish certainly did not! The jerk and spinach had a nice spicy kick to it and had me reaching for an extra glass of water which is just the way I like it. The portion was filling and priced under $ 10. The staff was friendly and helpful and more than willing to explain each and every dish they had to offer. Inexpensive, tasty, filling, and quick, that’s as good as it gets!!!

This place offers several Afro Caribbean dishes, but I can only vouch for the jerk chicken, which is super tasty and full of spice! Its the best jerk chicken, I’ve tasted in Atlanta so far. The jerk chicken is served with your choice of either a breast/wing and thigh/leg. I opted for the white meat, which was very moist and fell right off the bone. For my sides, I got the rice and beans with the jerk gravy on top and the cabbage. The rice was good; however, the cabbage was pretty standard. It didn’t have a lot of seasoning so it primarily tasted like boiled cabbage, but I love veggies so it was cool with me. The price and amount of food is very reasonable. I think the dish was somewhere between $ 7 – 9. The hours are pretty limited but if you are ever in the Edgewood area, definitely make sure you check this place out. Its located inside of the Auburn market.

I love Jamaican beef patties but often they are too spicy for me. I inquired as to the spiciness and was told they are mild. I bought three of them for $ 1.75 a piece… a bargain! Indeed they are mild and very tasty. They will be a great lunch of leftovers. I won’t fail to venture here again.

This spot in Sweet Auburn Curb Market is my to go spot for curry chicken, best curry chicken in Georgia. For about $ 7.00 you get a huge serving with your choice of rice and 2 sides. I suggest the jollof rice, plantains, and black eyed peas. If this is not the best meal in Atlanta metro for the price then it is definitely in the top 5.

I was really, really looking forward to this place as it reminded me of Kelly’s Jamaican Food in Athens, GA. I ordered the jerk chicken entrée, with white meat($.50 extra charge). While the jerk chicken was moist, the flavor lacked in caribbean spicy-ness and that zing you get when eating traditional jerk chicken. Meh. For the side items, I ordered the rice/beans, spinach, and veggies. The spinach wasn’t my cup of tea(as another reviewer said — it was definitely canned and had that funky canned taste to it). The rice/beans were probably my favorite… the veggies tasted like, well, veggies coated with a little too much grease. For $ 7, the portions really are HUGE. I got two meals out of it, so pricing wise it was excellent. I might venture back for their curry chicken and other side items, but not so much for their jerk chicken or spinach.

Afrodish is located at Sweet Auburn Market and specializes in Caribbean and African dishes. They also specialize in quality, quantity, and low price. I ordered jerk chicken with 2 sides of steamed cabbage and fried plantains and they gave me a lot of food. It’s enough to leave you some leftovers. The chicken was tender and falling off the bone and the friend plantains were delicious. I also had all this food for about $ 7.50 =O They also have specialty Caribbean sodas as well!
