I have no idea why everyone is writing great things about this place? It’s subpar food and honestly the environment is kind of dirty, very disheveled. It’s shocking to walk in and see things everywhere. I could do better than this getting supplies from Costco. Yes everyone’s nice but it should be all about the food. This is for people that really don’t know what high-quality food taste like and simply just don’t know how to cook. If you fall into one of those categories that I’m sure you’ll like it. Otherwise know that this food is just meh.

I’ve heard a lot of good things about this place, but I hadn’t tried it. Then, one Monday afternoon, I realized that I hadn’t planned anything for dinner. Being that we have a toddler and newborn, this is nothing new, but it had been several days since I planned anything for dinner. So I called up to see if they had any of the turkey lasagna listed on the website. She had two left in the freezer. Score! I explained that I would probably be in a hurry with the two kiddies in tow. She told me the amount, so I could have a check ready when I came by. I called when I got there and she brought it to my car. I handed her the check. I didn’t have to get both kids out of the car!!! A total lifesaver! The one downside is that my toddler realized that we were next to Catch Air and threw a fit when he realized we weren’t going inside… Anyway, the true test was my husband. He is a very picky eater. And even more picky about his lasagna. I popped it in the oven for about 1:15 and dinner was ready! And he was pleasantly surprised! It was absolutely delicious! YAY! So now we have leftovers and I can’t wait to try some of her other meals. I’ve only had one experience, but I can’t recommend it enough!

So sad, I meant to write this review earlier, but I hate that if I do it on my phone, then I have to come home at night and finish it on my laptop( Unilocal’s rules). Wow! the one review was brutal and embarrassing… orange bread. are just wraps with food coloring. All of Lila’s food is amazing!!! Her chips, bark, everything. I use her almost 100% for all my catering needs! She is excellent!

Love the curry chicken salad and the walnut chicken salad. The salad plates always come with home made dressing, lots of salad greens, homemade chips and a piece of chocolate pistachio bark. Great combination. I frequently take plates back to the office for everyone, and it’s always a winner. The owner, Lila, is a great lady… always greets you with a smile and nice word. It’s the kind of neighborhood place that is easy to return to. Check out«to go» freezer with frozen entrees/casseroles. Kids are always welcome.

After several people recommended this place to me I finally made the time to stop in and try it a few months ago. I was impressed and have been back every two weeks, give or take, since then. The owner is cheerful and helpful and the food is fresh and flavorful. My favorite is the apple chicken wrap, I’ve gotten every time but once. Where this place truly shines is in the take away casserole dishes on menu! Sheppard’s Pie, Chicken Tetrazzini, Turkey Lasagne, Chicken and ham florentine… all fantastic! They are packaged and frozen to serve 2 or 4… salad and brownies are a little extra. Being able to feed your family an excellent, almost homecooked meal, for under $ 20 is a godsend these days.

A Royal Affair is a tiny little place in a mainly empty shopping center off Roswell Rd. When you walk inside you will find a smattering of tables, a lot of Go Jesus signage, and a handwritten list of items– soups, salads, and sandwiches. The soup selection changes daily and consists of 2 different soups. Both times I have gotten a mushroom soup and have been extremely impressed. I love soup and Royal Affairs mushroom soup isn’t your typical Campbell’s cream of jiggly. The owner is extremely nice and helpful, and as Addy mentioned, is always willing to let you try some samples. The owner told me that the chicken apple walnut wrap is the most popular so I got it and wasn’t really a fan. The wrap had been premade, which is the anti-sandwich for me. The bread of the wrap was slightly soggy and the greens that came in it were soggy as hell. If you know me, you know I hate anything soggy so this wasn’t a good choice. The wrap came with homemade tortilla chips and a small bite of chocolate bark. Like Addy says, it was a nice surprise to have that dessert in there and it was very good. I will mention that the owner was awesome and when I was $ 2 short, they are cash only, she wrote me an IOU(honestly) and told me to bring back the extra when I had it. I did and bought another soup to go. To me, that is excellent customer service, so that and her super good soups have enticed me to go back.

This is a favorite in my office. The food’s fantastic, fast, filling, and inexpensive! I highly recommend the asparagus soup, although the chicken and rice is also quite tasty. The salads and wraps are also quite nice. Check it out if you’re in Sandy Springs, or even if you’re passing through. It’s right by I-285.

I would’ve never thought to find this place or even bother trying it, except for the word-of-mouth of one of my co-workers. It’s in the back corner of Parkside Shopping Center on Roswell Road, and the restaurant sign says just«Café.» I’m a marketing person so naming is big for me. It wasn’t until I got to the door that I saw their«real» name — «A Royal Affair Café». There’s really not much seating, it’s a simple looking deli, and I’m thinking most of their clientele order take-out anyway. The customers who were there were young moms with kids. Their menu is written on a whiteboard, and comprise soups, salads, & sandwich wraps. The whiteboard also says«God loves you»(or something like that), and it’s quite obvious from other wall hangings that this is a Christian-owned restaurant, which was also one of the reasons my Christian co-worker told me I should try this place. I’m thinking the lady who took my order was the owner. Like Sarah’s review, I’d describe her as «delightful». I told her this was my first time, my co-worker recommended the place, and then asked her what I should get. She said the best sellers were the tomato soup and the curry chicken salad. As she told me this, she immediately poured samples of each in tiny plastic cups for me to try — and then she also gave me a sample of her gazpacho soup. The tomato bisque was absolutely yummy — she said it’s a best seller in the summertime, too. The curry chicken was tasty, too, but I wasn’t in the mood for curry. Gazpacho was ok … too much pureed & too many onions for me. I asked her about the sandwiches and she told me to get the chicken apple walnut wrap. That turned out pretty yummy, and it comes with either baked or fried(I couldn’t tell) flour tortilla chips that seemed homemade. The other surprise was a sampling of chocolate bark with pistachios. I had noticed the chocolate bark on the menu, tempted to get a ½ lb. order, decided not to give in, and then what a nice surprise-n-delight to discover chocolate in my bag. Very warm & friendly service. The lady there also gave me her business card and said they also prepare«meals-to-go». According to the business card, they apparently also do «princess tea parties.» I’d definitely come again — to support her business, and next time order one of her soups. Seriously, that tomato bisque was dee-lish!

The best soup and salad place I’ve ever been to. The delightful owner switches out the soups and the family dinners daily(hence the mix of deli & southern food). I’ve enjoyed the tomato bisque, broccoli and leek and baked potato. The salads are made fresh in front of you and have an excellent mix of ingredients. You must check this out… very quaint and the owner is thoughtful and kind.
