Menlo Shell

Pretty decent gas station overall. It carries gas and diesel and has a drive-​through car wash that cleans decently though not amazingly well. The store is pretty large and is still be and clean. I can’t comment on the bathrooms but everything else seems nice.

There is an automated car wash here! This is a big deal, because there do not seem to be very many of them in California. I come from the East Coast, and am very unaccustomed to actual humans washing my car (and taking 45 minutes to do it). I am accustomed to a robot car wash. Shell has a robot car wash. Pigeons live in it. It’s slow, and there’s often a line at peak times/​days. But if you can remember to wash your car on a random day at a random time, it’s great. For nine bucks, and five minutes, you can’t go wrong.
It’s not an awesome car wash. It’s not an awesome gas station. But it exists and has something really excellent there that I bet other people will be glad to know about. Just make sure you prepay inside for your car wash, because the little money-​taking computer does NOT take cash money, and never does the credit card portion work, either.

Beware of the carwash here. The rotating «blades» partially ripped off my back bumper on TWO different occasions. In addition, management would not admit fault. Thanks Menlo Shell.

A killer car wash for $ 3!!! with some gas… better than ducky’s! though no vacuum. takes a long time, but sooo good. my car is now clean.
