The peach salad and peach pie are amazing! Very tasty, and definitely worth it. You’ll spend around $ 60 +for two if you get a couple drinks and dessert for dinner, but the food is so good it is worth it for date night! I can’t wait to try lunch!

Decent food, but the waiter questioning my ability to read the menu was a buzzkill when it came to get dessert. Update: I received a prompt response regarding my experience and that is much appreciated!

Best sandwich in Athens, hands down. Super bummed that this place is taking off right about the time I’m moving out of town. I had the Gringo and immediately regretted only ordering one sandwich. I easily could have thrown down another one. It was unreal! I can’t wait to go back for another. If you are a fan of pickled vegetables, they do them right and you can order a small bowl as a lunch appetizer. Some may be scared off in a college town about a 10 dollar sandwich for lunch, but it is underpriced considering how delicious it is. YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMY. Beware: parking is a bit of a pain when busy(which is pretty much all of the time) but don’t let it prevent you from going, it is totally worth it.

Tried Home. made for dinner Saturday and lunch today. I tried the Shrimp«faux» boy. Excellent. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Great place for lunch or dinner.

It’s really a great lunch venue. Reasonably priced with fun menu items. I had an appetizer, sandwich, and dessert + coffee for 20 $(without tip). Every thing was delicious. Sandwiches are big and well made. The place is nice and the service is very good and friendly. I had a very pleasant lunch date with a friend. Highly recommended.

Best restaurant in Athens! More casual than 5&10 but with even tastier food. I’m a man who snacks here and when I snack I go «all in».

Lunch place tucked away, with a small parking lot that clearly does not satiate the demand for the restaurant. I had halves of two different sandwiches, one a shrimp«faux» boy(maybe a bit too much breading, but decent quality shrimp and a good taste), and their gringo chicken, which had a nice taste(and, for $ 2 more, a nice helping of avocado). The prices are reasonable for the quality of the product.

Home. made was recommended to us when we were looking for a caterer that could do an all vegan menu at an Athens wedding. We visited them for lunch one day and really enjoyed the food and decided to proceed. Our tasting left me a little worried but Mimi took our critiques to heart and totally rocked it the day of the wedding. Servers were on point, and dinner went smoothly. And mostly importantly, our wedding guests who were not vegan LOVED the food. Some even asked me to beg for Mimi’s recipes! Servers did a great job cleaning up as well. I am really glad home. made was recommended to us, and that we decided to stick with them. They may be a bit more expensive than other caterers(I don’t know this for fact, because I didn’t do much shopping around), but they were more than worth it! So happy they could be a part of our wedding and introduce our guests to fabulous vegan food! Thank you Mimi, Sarah, and the rest of the crew for working so hard for us!

Terrific! Mimi is a great chef and has great chefs working for her. Lovely casual atmosphere. We had the Mayberry sandwich and the veggie plate. They were out of the fried chicken but recommended the fried shrimp as a substitute to make the sandwich work(a great choice to try the blend of pimento cheese). They have amazing cheese straws, macaroons and other goodies you can purchase for gifts. We only wish we had realized there was byob before arriving! We signed up for her emails to hear about supper clubs and hope to make a special visit to Athens just for that! A must visit for lunch!

I recently discovered home. made and it’s one of my new favorite lunch spots in Athens. Awesome, well-crafted food! The first time I went, I had the BLT with pork belly and fried green tomato. I will second the comment below that this sandwich was probably the best BLT I’ve ever had! The sweet pepper relish was delicious with the pork belly, and the fried green tomato provided a nice crunch to the sandwich. On my second visit, I opted for a veggie plate with tomato and red pepper soup, grilled asparagus w/fried egg, and mac n cheese — all of which were delicious. I was pleased to find as a somewhat large guy(and a certified carnivore) that I was still very satisfied after going with this lunch option. I am also a big fan of the«snack» items that are available as hors d’oeuvres. The date/pimento cheese combo is my personal favorite, although all of the options(candied pecans, deviled egg, or fresh pickled veggies) are quite tasty. The sweet tea is also a great perk of eating at home.made. Rather than the garden-variety sweet tea available at most southern eateries(which, let’s be honest, is still pretty dang good), home. made offers a sweetened Earl Grey tea that packs a little more flavor than usual. My only(small) critique would be that I’m not a big fan of the cheese straws, which are the standard side item served with the lunch entrees. They are good in and of themselves, but I would just prefer chips/fries to round out the meal. Other items that may be concerns to some folks: the menu isn’t very extensive, and the space itself can get somewhat crowded at lunch. It’s also important to be aware that they are only open for lunch, although they do offer catering and prepared casserole dishes for dinner pickup. In my opinion, the quality of the food more than makes up for these minor issues. In general, eating at home. made has been a great experience — love the food and enjoy the rustic/eclectic vibe, including the friendly and efficient staff. Home. made is definitely a permanent addition to my lunch lineup, and I’m looking forward to trying more of their food!

Stellar!!! You can tell that these folks put lots of care into creating the food here. I had the«BLT» and each ingredient was just perfect. The atmosphere and service is cozy too. I have no doubt that everything at Homemade is delicious. I’m definitely going again the next time I’m in Athens!

home. made is a highlight of athens. from the fresh ingredients to the amazing leadership of mimi maumus, this place is just outstanding. there is something for everyone — sandwiches(meat and veggie!), yummy twists of southern veggies, tasty desserts and if you need catering, then the hand-crafted menus are to be reckoned with!

Home. made is our favorite lunch spot in a town of lunch spots. Decadent is the only word I can use to describe their BLT. By far the best BLT I have ever had and I am not a big tomato guy. Everything else on the menu looks good but I have never gotten passed the BLT.

Home. made is delightful. The chicken salad and pimento cheese are the only things I have tried only because I can’t see me eating anything else. One day I will get over my love for them and try something else. Also the cookies are the bomb!

Mimi’s food is amazing! She is so thoughtful and creative with her catering! The food is always well sourced and cared for. I’m so excited that she will be opening soon for lunch! My next trip home to athens I will be eating here! I current live in New York and her food is every bit as innovative and skilled as what we’ve eaten here in the city, but much more reasonably priced!

home. made just had an open house for their store front they opened. There was a sampling of some of the favorites and everything was amazing. There were little produce baskets that had marinated field peas and pickled okra with cornmeal chips which was fantastic. I am not a big fan of pickled okra because it’s usually mushy, but this was crisp and I could have eaten about 20 of them. There were homemade biscuits with fresh made preserves. Again, amazing. Hot chocolate cookies(chocolate cookies with a tiny hint of cayenne) were fantastic as were the lace cookies. And then the cheese straws. OMG. Homemade cheese straws with homemade pimento cheese rolled in pecans. I don’t thrown the word heavenly around ever, but I can’t think of a better adjective. The owner, Mimi Maumus has worked as an executive chef and director of catering under noted chef Hugh Acheson of the Five and Ten for about 6 years and home. made started as a side project and has now expanded. All the food is home.made. ALLOFIT. From the jams, to the pickles and everything in between. The catering menus revolve around what’s in season so you get only the freshest food possible. If you need a caterer, go with home.made. Why ruin your special event with food from a box when you can have some of the most amazing food ever. Twists on classics without going overboard. By the way, if you’re tailgating, they have packages for that.
