I was interested in trying this salon out for a long period of time and was sorely disappointed. I was excited for highlights and a new cut. My hair was foiled with color but the hair between the foils was left untouched. Leaving my roots showing, which I asked to also be treated. The atmosphere and people were so nice when I walked in but my stylist my was bad. The cut was very choppy and not what I wanted. It was later afternoon and you could tell my stylist was«over it.» I spent over 200 $ there, and touched up my hair myself right after. I would’ve complained but it’s not the kind of place where I felt comfortable voicing my concerns/disappointment. 2⁄10 I suggest finding another salon.

It took DRee several cuts to stop putting me in a Dorothy Hamill cut, and I thought we had finally communicated(she specializes in being obtuse) about how I wanted my very short hair to be cut. Then, BAM, she decided her previously 50 dollar cuts were worth 70, and I asked to be moved to a stylist who charges 50. When that stylist cut my hair the first time, I loved it, but the second time, she put me in what DRee thought was amusing to call a ‘faux hawk’ and prompted the comment from her that I had ‘gotten what I paid for’. Well, to add insult to injury, she refused to try to even it up that day, at about 15 minutes to 5(though the salon was open until 6, she had more important phone calls to make before 5, and a sons softball game to go to immediately following). I had to come back the next day, to have her mess it up even further. I wore a hat for weeks, so that it could grow in and be cut by someone competent, at another salon. I used to enjoy her massage therapists, she runs specials weekly, to introduce new therapists, and most of them have been very good. I was offered a buy 5 and get one free card, which was signed off on by no less than 3 of her employees. When I tried to redeem it, she refused to accept it! I paid for one massage out of pocket that should’ve been free– because she wasn’t available to speak to me about it(I have never felt more dismissed and unappreciated by anyone, I think I was just shocked!). Then I recieved two facebook messages from her telling me that even though I had a full card, she would NOT be honoring it, because I’d had the massages on special. My point is, it is her responsibility to back up her employees, who A– gave me the card B-signed it every time I got a massage and then C– were excited for me that I’d earned a freebie. I don’t think this lady is going to last long, I am very, very easy to get along w/and a loyal customer who was driven away by the arrogance and dismissive attitude of this lady. She should stick to mens cuts, lower her prices back to where they were in Dec. 2012, and stop acting as if she’s doing folks a favor by being so cool, and allowing us to spend our money there. She is penny pinching, and low-down. I am very glad to have moved on, and only wish that she hadn’t taken advantage of this disabled lady on a limited income for as long as she did. I feel like a sucker, and hope nobody will fall for her«I’m so cool I can make my own rules» attitude. Yes, I’m still annoyed, I wore hats for over two months, and had vowed that once I got my free massage I would never go back. She managed to con me out of 50 bucks for what should’ve been an earned freebie, and then justified it by saying that she was the boss, more or less. But she isn’t– and doesn’t take responsibility for not training her people on their promotions. Disgusted customer, who hopes that DRee will change her attitude, but doubts it.

I was a walk-in looking for a reasonably priced haircut, and I got that and much more! Everyone is so friendly and greets you with a smile. They’re quick to make you feel at home, which is appropriate because it’s in a big house! I usually hate getting haircuts but DRee & Co made it so enjoyable!

I prefer very short cuts which poses a problem for most stylists because my hair is fine and there is a lot of it. If it isn’t cut properly, I look like a Q-Tip. Not flattering! It took me 5 years to find someone in Atlanta who could give me a great cut. So, when I moved to Athens 4 years ago, I continued to make the drive to Atlanta to see my stylist. She recently moved to California. Gak! Fortunately, it didn’t take me another 5 years to find a great stylist in Athens. After trying another salon for a few months, I decided to give DRee at DRee & Co. a try. She did a FANTASTIC job. Thanks to DRee, I’m back to having a fun, sassy, short cut that I love. And, best of all, I no longer resemble a Q-Tip. :-) If you’re ‘ok’ with your current stylist or flat out unhappy, give DRee a call. You won’t regret it.
